Sometimes, the video game industry isn’t very kind to titles based on some of the best characters and franchises, like Batman, Star Wars, and others. What happens next is that these projects are announced and revealed but are unfortunately canceled.
Some of these titles were the reason for a lot of hype among gamers. Regardless, fans post about some of these games on social media after their cancellation. And video game studios should reconsider their decision to cancel them.
#5 Batman: Gotham by Gaslight Batman: Gotham By Gaslight inspired a batsuit skin in WB Montreal’s Arkham Origins.
Batman video games aren’t novel by any means. From vintage games on the Nes to the Arkhamverse. However, in the 2000s and the years following, the only significant titles that have come out based on the character have been by Rocksteady and WB Montreal, which have been part of the Arkhamverse.

17 Is Right Here, out Monday (April 29), is a best album honoring the K-Pop boy band’s legacy in the industry.
Composed of 2 CDs, the album presents 4 new tracks, Korean versions of 8 previously-released Japanese lead singles, 20 lead singles from past Korean releases, and a digital-only instrumental version of the group’s debut single, “Adore U.”
The new lead single “Maestro” weaves in elements from the band’s past 7 releases – “Adore U,” “Very Nice,” “Oh My!”, “Fear,” “Rock with you,” “Cheers,” and “Super” – while innovating a style and concept vastly original to itself, per their label.
“Aligning with the group’s core message around solidarity, this captivating dance R&b track illustrates how together, we can orchestrate our own universe like a ‘maestro.’”
The cinematic music video for “Maestro” is set in “a dark dystopian world where anything, including music and art, can be easily created with technology.

When Pixar released "Inside Out" back in 2015, the studio introduced us to five core emotions inside the mind of Riley, an 11-year old girl leaving her hometown of Minnesota and moving with her parents to a new home in San Francisco. That came with a lot of complicated feelings, and the emotions of Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Bill Hader), and Disgust (Mindy Kaling) helped Riley worked through all the hurdles, allowing the feelings to learn something about themselves and the girl they've nurtured over the years.
"Inside Out 2" is about to make Riley's life even more complicated by introducing some new emotions. Though Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust are all back, they have to deal with the arrival of Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser). Funnily enough, some of those emotions were actually considered...

Pixar brought "Inside Out" to theaters in 2015, and even though the story was squarely focused on an 11-year old girl named Riley and all the emotions she felt when moving across the United States, away from her childhood home, audiences easily identified with all the emotional trials and tribulations that come with growing up. Director Pete Docter and the animation studio effectively made tears come out of our face by imagining the feelings that our own feelings have inside our mind, and the movie easily ranks as one of Pixar's best.
Now, nearly a decade later, director Kelsey Mann is tapping back into Riley's mind as she embarks on the even more complicated hurdle of becoming a teenager, complete with a new range of complex emotions that throw headquarters and the core emotions of Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Liza Lapira), and Fear (Tony Hale) into a tizzy.

While the Big Easy was still shaking off a slight springtime chill, my horror-loving heart was heating up as I rode the escalator to the third floor of the Canal Place mall: home of the sprawling food court, the terrific Prytania Theaters, and, for this weekend, the official headquarters of the “summer camp for genre fans,” the 2024 Overlook Film Festival!
Taking that second escalator up to the third floor is akin to ascending to horror nirvana, as I was immediately immersed in all manner of the macabre: the Vinegar Syndrome table of essential physical media waited on my right, the Super Yaki merch table of eerie apparel lied straight ahead, and must-see screenings lurk around every corner. After meeting up with fellow Daily Dead team members Jonathan and Christy, we headed to our first screening of the fest: I Don’t Understand You. Steven Spielberg was filled with doubts when he was approached to direct Schindler’s List. Spielberg didn’t consider himself mature enough to make a film on the Holocaust, however, he was unwilling to let the opportunity slide. Martin Scorsese was in the running to direct the film at one point. However, Spielberg decided to offer Scorsese a chance to direct the 1991 remake of Cape Fear and decided to helm the Liam Neeson-led film himself.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League hasn’t been the most promising title in recent times, and the community still wants to give it a chance. Unfortunately, the game’s marketing is nowhere to be seen. even though the game’s first season is just a week away.
There’s no gameplay clip, pictures, or even details about what players can expect on launch day. This isn’t good news for the game, since the title is already in bad shape given its negative reviews and lackluster approach to a live-service model.
Fans haven’t been this disinterested in a game that involves the Joker The Joker is coming to the game! Excited? No? Understandable.

In recent years, Mark Wahlberg has done projects that are aimed at family audiences. While the actor has done his fair share of intense and bold movies, his recent ventures like Uncharted, Father Stu, and The Family Plan show his intention to attract a larger audience. Wahlberg is continuing this trend with another true-story-inspired film Arthur the King.

While the film’s trailer and promotions have intrigued audiences, it does not have the appeal of recent big-ticket movies like Dune 2 and Kung Fu Panda 4. Information regarding the film’s weekend box office forecast has been revealed and it seems the film will have a slow start at the box office.

Prior to his Academy Award-nominated performance in Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, Mark Wahlberg, 52, was better known for his music career as ‘Marky Mark’. It turns out, though, that his past nearly kept him from being cast in the psychological thriller Fear (1996).
As it happens, Leonardo DiCaprio was considered for the role of David McCall, but the casting director felt he was not a choice for the part. Rather, he made a favorable impression on director James Foley on behalf of Wahlberg, with whom he co-starred on The Basketball Diaries. Later on, the two collaborated on The Departed.

We told you earlier this year about Stiletto, an upcoming horror movie from director Samuel Gonzalez Jr. (The Retaliators) that’s being described as a throwback to the early slashers of the 1980s. We now have an exclusive first look at the film’s villain, “The Stiletto Killer.”
The killer’s mask was created by Jason Baker, famous for designing the mask that Ethan Hawke wore in The Black Phone, and owner of Callosum FX Studios, which is the creative brainchild of legendary special effects master Tom Savini and renowned artist and effects creator Jason Baker himself.
Baker tells Bloody Disgusting in a statement, “Creating the killer’s mask for Samuel Gonzalez Jr. & Gigi Gustin on Stiletto was an absolute blast. I personally drew so much inspiration from the script. The film is a morbidly beautiful mixture of beauty and carnage. And that was the mindset we used in the design.

“I Love You Forever” has all the trappings of a romantic comedy, for better or worse. In the whipsmart millennial-skewing film where you’re old if you’ve been caught using a third-generation iPhone, there’s something charmingly antiquated about the scene filmmakers Cazzie David and Elisa Kalani set around Mackenzie (Sofia Black D’Elia), a law student who has a pair of bickering best friends (Jon Rudnitsky and Cazzie David) to constantly amuse her and a personal life punctuated by Jessica Simpson and Michelle Branch needle drops. Such retro touches aside, their subversive spin on the genre doesn’t seem as if it could’ve been made any earlier than 2024, amid talk that emotional manipulation in a relationship can be every bit as pernicious as physical abuse, as Mackenzie experiences when she falls for the wrong guy.

From one “hot labor summer” to the next: Below-the-line workers will sit down with the Hollywood studios Monday to begin talks for new film and TV contracts.
All eyes, metaphorically speaking, are on the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers’ Sherman Oaks offices, as IATSE and the Hollywood Basic Crafts link arms to discuss pension and health plans — the first step in a lengthy negotiation process that likely will extend well into the summer.
“Their fight is our fight. It’s really plain and simple,” IATSE International President Matthew Loeb told Deadline ahead of negotiations. “We’re on the same benefit plans. The [IATSE] kids and the Teamster and Basic Craft kids live on the same streets and play together and go to the same schools. We’re the same. We’re workers.”

The two big original releases on Netflix this month are Spaceman and 3 Body Problem. In Spaceman, Adam Sandler plays an astronaut alone and far from home who desperately wants to fix things with his wife. When he discovers an enormous alien spider in the bowels of his ship, a conversation between the two gets underway, and Sandler has a chance to make some big changes. To be clear: this is not a comedy!
Meanwhile, new sci-fi series 3 Body Problem hails from Game of Thrones co-creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. Along with True Blood writer Alexander Woo, they’ve spun a tale that is set to blow your mind this March. Your mileage may vary, but it certainly looks interesting! And hey, we all love the show’s star, Benedict Wong.

With more than 70 schools offering costume design instruction, what makes such a program stand out? Is it the proximity to film studios and theaters in the major entertainment hubs of L.A., London and New York? The variety of courses, from historical design to 3D fabric printing, or simply a well-rounded curriculum? Or is it the chance to network with award-winning alums and industry insiders, coupled with portfolio development and postgrad job placement?
Whatever the consideration, students, as soon-to-be narrative storytellers, face an ever-changing field with digital design technology at the forefront as the industry tries to figure out what to do with the practice of artificial intelligence. When you work in Hollywood, but can't write or direct or act or do anything that requires a practical skill ... well, you're either an executive or an agent. This means you probably make more money than most of your clients or the genuinely talented people you employ. This, you'd think, would be enough to get you through the night. But these are (mostly) awful people with awfully large egos. They don't just want money. They want credit for having played (they believe) a vital part in the creation of art. So they exaggerate their role to anyone who will listen (hopefully a credulous reporter). And when that's not enough, sometimes they just flat-out lie.
Erstwhile superagent Michael Ovitz played this mendacious game better than anyone.

Deadpool & Wolverine released its teaser, and it confirmed the appearance of Aaron Stanford’s Pyro, who played the character back in the original X-Men trilogy that was produced by Fox Studios. Along with this, it has also been confirmed that Jennifer Garner will be appearing in her role as Elektra from Fox’s Daredevil film, returning for the first time since her solo venture in the role.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool 3 trailer
The film is also set to star Wolverine (and allegedly multiple variants of the character). With such a stacked cast, and so many cameos on the horizon, it makes sense that the film would include other key cameos, given that it would be integrating mutants into the MCU, while also bringing in the characters from Fox Studios’ Marvel roster. Here are 5 other cameos that fans can expect from Marvel’s latest mutant movie.

With his very first episode back, Jon Stewart has successfully returned The Daily Show to the cultural conversation — by drawing fire from Democrats.
Stewart’s return to Daily Show hosting duties Monday night opened with a 20-minute monologue going after Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Stewart especially mocked the current president after his disastrous press conference last week where Biden struggled to assure Americans that he was still cognitively capable of performing his duties.
Stewart seemed wholly aware his comments would lead to some left-side backlash, with correspondent Jordan Klepper asking Stewart on-air afterwards, “Did you save democracy yet with your ’90s brand of snark and both-siderism?”
And that’s precisely the sort of blowback that happened, with everyone from progressives to Elon Musk to the White House weighing in.
Mary Trump — a vehement critic of her uncle — wrote on X: “Not only is Stewart’s ‘both sides are the same’ rhetoric not funny,...

Let me give you my thoughts about love. I tend to side with famous Irish poet Oscar Wilde, when he says, “Never love anyone who treats you like you’re ordinary.” This is the basis for any successful relationship between lovers, most importantly during the honeymoon phase. Love sure makes us do crazy things for the people we care for most. But what is that limitation of crazy? And how far can it get before the significant others realizes this and wants to cut the cord for good? Sadly, cutting the cord may mean dire consequences for those that wish to end it. Let’s put that to the test and revisit two star-crossed lovers which is something out of any teenage girl’s dreams. But what if that dream soon warps into a twisted tale of horrific obsession, stalking, and manipulation? We’re talking about 1996’s Fear which is...

Richard Gere and Edward Norton headline the 1996 thriller Primal Fear, which is coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK.
Cast your mind back to 1996, assuming you were alive at that time, and not a toddler. This was a time when movie studios – Paramount in particular – were seeking mid-budget thrillers, which had a habit of delivering a very pleasant profit.
In the case of 1996’s Primal Fear, headlined by Richard Gere, the film also unearthed a brand new talent. That’d be Edward Norton, in his first high profile Hollywood role. For taking on the support in what could have been a disposable potboiler, he ended up scoring his first Oscar nomination for the role, and deservedly so.
There’s a lot else to like in the film, too. Gregory Hoblit was directing a bunch of mid-priced films at the time, and we’ve chatted about them and his work,...

Despite recent setbacks in the quality of Marvel Studios’ projects, the MCU still has an impressive lineup of upcoming movies. While there have been discussions about reducing the number of releases, Spider-Man remains a consistently lucrative franchise, drawing audiences to theaters. Currently, the MCU features three standalone Spider-Man movies, with a fourth installment confirmed by producer Amy Pascal several months ago. However, production was temporarily halted during the WGA Strike. Recent rumors suggested Jon Watts might return as the director for ‘Spider-Man 4,’ but a reliable source, MyTimeToShineHello, has allegedly confirmed that Jon Watts will not be directing the upcoming Spider-Man movie, according to posts on X.
I was able to confirm that Jon Watts is not coming back to direct Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4. Who would you like to see directing the film?
— MyTimeToShineHello (@MyTimeToShineH) February 1, 2024
Drew Goddard is once again emerging as the leading candidate for the director’s role.

E.L. James' original "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy is undoubtedly the most successful piece of fanfiction ever published. James turned the teen-friendly romance between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in Stephenie Meyer's wildly popular "Twilight" franchise into an erotic reverie explored by the mysterious (and quite wealthy) entrepreneur Christian Grey and college journalist Kate Kavanaugh. It was a Bdsm gateway drug that opened up a healthy portal for kink-curious young adults. You didn't have to feel like a freak for wanting to do what conservative society deemed freaky.
Was it good literature? Does it matter? James' novels have sold hundreds of millions of copies and been translated into 52 different languages. They are adored by people who never knew they wanted to see Bella and Edward engage in consensual sadomasochism. I am happy they have these stories in their lives. What matters, at least when it comes to my bailiwick,...

In a year of reduced Marvel output, there are still a lot of interesting comic book adaptations emerging in 2024 from both Sony and Marvel Studios. We told you earlier this week about Stiletto, an upcoming horror movie from director Samuel Gonzalez Jr. (The Retaliators) that’s being described as a throwback to the early slashers of the 1980s. Bloody Disgusting has now exclusively learned that makeup effects legend Tom Savini and his creative partner Jason Baker designed the killer’s mask for the film!
The duo most recently designed the mask for Ethan Hawke’s sinister “The Grabber” in box office hit The Black Phone, which is getting a sequel from Blumhouse in Summer 2025.
Something elegant and terrifying at the same time.

Theatrical movies truly came back in 2023. Despite a major strike and the ongoing effects of the Covid pandemic, audiences returned in droves to watch big releases. From the twin tentpoles of Barbie and Oppenheimer to the more niche faves such as Five Nights at Freddy’s, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, and John Wick: Chapter 4, the cinematic slate of 2023 gave fans of every variety a reason to get back to the cinemas.
Moviemakers hope to continue this trend in 2024, and the key strategy seems to be sequels, prequels, and remakes. Some of these movies come from the artists who captured audiences’ hearts in the first place, while others come from fresh faces, hoping to infuse a familiar tale with new energy.
Some of the big names include a third Sonic the Hedgehog movie, a new continuation of the shocking and shockingly successful Terrifier story, the Netflix movie Beverly Hills Cop 4,...

Critics: we can’t live with them, we can’t live without them. The Rolling Stones‘ Mick Jagger felt journalists were more interested in dissecting The Beatles than Elvis Presley. Here’s why he was right.
The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger contrasted The Beatles with William Shakespeare
During a 1994 interview with Hot Press, Jagger discussed how critics reacted to the Fab Four. “The first time was when there was serious music analysis of The Beatles,” he said.” It had never happened before.
No one had ever done it to Elvis. Then, when The Beatles come along, people — journalists and serious newspapers especially in England — started it all off. They started analyzing.”
Jagger said The Beatles initiated a sea change. “From then, it became analysis of popular culture; analysis of popular art and fashion,” he said. “And from then on, it’s never stopped. It’s very immediate now too. Shakespeare...

Here we have yet another “new movie” about the dark past of a family man coming back to haunt him, but we have already seen it many times before, right? Apple TV’s The Family Plan, starring Mark Wahlberg as the lead, falls into that category of movies, and it pretty much goes exactly as you would expect. Not a single thing in this movie looks like anything original or innovative, which is not surprising.
Wahlberg plays family man Dan, who’s a mild-mannered car salesman in Buffalo. He is great at his job and loved by all his co-workers, but he has the habit of slipping away whenever a casual picture gets clicked. His wife, Jessica, is a physical therapist at a local gym. The seemingly normal-looking, loving couple has three kids—two angsty teenagers and a toddler—adhering to the staple American family film formula. Nina, the daughter,...

Despite recent challenges in Marvel Studios’ projects, the MCU has an extensive lineup of upcoming films. While there have been discussions about reducing the number of releases due to concerns about diminishing quality, Spider-Man remains a consistently lucrative franchise, drawing audiences to theaters. Currently, within the MCU, Spider-Man boasts three standalone movies, with a fourth in development. Producer Amy Pascal confirmed this several months ago, noting that work on the sequel was temporarily halted during the WGA Strike.
Recent rumors suggested Jon Watts might return as the director for ‘Spider-Man 4.’ However, according to reliable leaker Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is reportedly exploring other options, with Drew Goddard emerging as the leading candidate for the directorial role.
Jon Watts ne serait pas envisagé pour réaliser Spider-man 4 (même si ça resterait une possibilité)
Sony chercherait d’autres réalisateurs, comme Drew Goddard (qui a bossé sur la série Daredevil Netflix entre autre )
