action and art together
Spanner-210 November 2004
This film could be described as a lot of action with a little bit of art. It rightfully won the Bronze Award at the Houston International Film Festival (Worldfest Houston 1996). Some of the thoughtful comments by the lead actress push the picture into more interesting territory than the average action film.

The action sequences are uniformly good, some even cool and inventive. The cast is OK, with a strong centering performance by Michael Ironside, along with his cop sidekicks Marshall Bell and Richard Reilly.

But my favorite is just watching Kashia Figura, the Polish bombshell ("Pret a Porte", "The Pianist")... one dress she wears becomes a character in the film, which you have to see for yourself.

A good, cool independent actioner.

Too Slow Too Horrible

Do not to rent this movie UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. If it comes on tv, turn the channel. If someone tries to give you a free copy, run away screaming. Too Fast Too Young truly is one of the worst movies I have ever seen and I've seen plenty of crappy movies in my time.

I was tricked into renting this by Michael Ironside's picture which was featured prominently on the cover. He is not the star though so Michael Ironside fans beware -the so called stars of this so called movie are such horribly bad actors that I literally cringed when they were on.

I'm a little fuzzy on the plot since after the first 15 excruciating minutes I fast forwarded through all the scenes that Michael Ironside wasn't in. It was something about this petty criminal getting talked into an armored truck heist by his extremely icky escaped con relative and then they are chased by the police and blah blah blah. Trust me, it's not important. Oh, but petty criminal had a girlfriend who also did the narration and must be one of the worst actresses ever. I'm assuming no other actresses showed up at the audition.Must have read the script...

So in summary, do not watch this movie. It is bad. If you want to see Michael Ironside, rent Total Recall. It is good.

gritty low-budget urban crime story
jmcbride-522 January 2007
A compelling performance by James Wellington as the antagonist lifts this film from the doldrums. As Chase Parrish, Wellington frightens and excites. A good film if you like crazy bad guys. Otherwise, the photography is also very good. Director Tim Everitt did a nice job doubling as cinematographer. The major weakness of the picture is the voice-over. Obviously recited by the lead actress, Kasia Figura, it is sometimes difficult to understand. The script manages to hold up with the assistance of a couple of nice flashback scenes. Michael Ironside also gives a decent performance as the lead detective. Patrick Tiller is sometimes interesting as the young Dalton, but is noticeably green in certain scenes. Marshall Bell is comic relief. Along with Wellington's performance, Robert Ragland's musical score is also first rate.

This movie is hilarious. A must-see. It is pleasantly terrible in the vein of a fat Steven Seagal movie. But they also try to add an artistic touch, and fail miserably. The narrator adds these little bite-size philosophical stories, but she is only as profound as Jack Handey from SNL; "I think a pillow should be the peace symbol, not the dove. The pillow has more feathers than the dove, and it doesn't have a beak to peck you with". I saw this movie when it first came out (sriaght to video), and I still laugh about it to this day. This also should teach a lesson: never send your mother to the video store. I would love to star in a sequel if one was ever made.
