- Buck: Was all of it for nothing? Say, they didn't accept me, the psychiatrist said no, and that's it. What do I do now? Please, tell me, what now!?
- Sam Dietz: [Seeing the police psychologist readying his gun] What the hell is with that?
- police psychiatrist: Well, psychiatrists aren't always preaching. Sometimes it's persuasion.
- [They both laugh]
- Carol Dietz: What's the matter? This thing tonight?
- Sam Dietz: This Taylor woman - she tries to hide, right? Two feet from her is a toolbox with hammers, chisels, screwdrivers. She could have beat this guy to a bloody pulp. Instead, she crawls inside of a dryer.
- Carol Dietz: Sammy, not everybody's a fighter.
- Sam Dietz: I know that, Carol, but if you act like a victim, you're gonna be a victim.
- Patrolman at locker: Do you hear that? Guy makes detective - the first thing he does is turn on his old friends.
- Sam Dietz: [Tongue-in-cheek] That's true. I never liked you guys.
