Nurse Chapel's chest insignia is the standard oval-within-a-circle symbol for the Sciences division. However, in the live Star Trek (1966), her uniform was unique in that she wore a red cross in place of that symbol.
Director Hal Sutherland was color blind and could not tell the difference between light gray and pink. In some episodes, uniforms and spacecraft which were supposed to be light gray are colored pink.
Although some of the original sound effects from the original series are used, most are stock animation sounds. Most notably are the tricorders, McCoy's medical scanner and the phasers. The transporter sound used is from the very early episodes of the original series.rather then the high pitched trilling sound that later became standard for the series. Other sounds are missing entirely, such as the intercom whistle and the button tones.
The hypospray is shown being used backwards in every episode in which it appears.
Uhura's insignia is mistakenly the Life Sciences globe. It should be the geometric emblem of Ship's Services.
Spock frequently addresses or refers to other characters by their first names ("Harry" instead of "Mister Mudd", "Cyrano Jones" instead of "Mister Jones", etc.). In Star Trek (1966), he was established as preferring more formal modes of address.
