Bill Maher has finally responded to Steve-o, who said on an episode of the “Wild Ride!” podcast earlier this year that he had to turn down a request to appear on Bill Maher‘s “Club Random” podcast because Maher refused to not smoke weed during the interview despite Steve-o being 16 years sober. In an upcoming episode of “Club Random” with guest Tony Hawk, Maher confirms the story but expresses no regret over turning the “Jackass” alum down.
“That Steve-o guy was taking shots at me in the press recently,” Maher said. “It was an unfortunate … I don’t want to start a feud, and I’m sorry that he felt slighted or something, but it is ridiculous that somebody thinks that I should give up pot smoking because they have a problem. Then I’m sorry you can’t be here.”

When Wattpad Webtoon Studios was preparing to release the drama “Float” this year, author Kate Marchant asked for a little help from her fans. The Lionsgate film was based on her story, and now she presented three movie posters to her followers, asking them to pick their favorite.
“I can feel your readers shifting in their seats,” Aron Levitz, president of Wattpad Webtoon Studios, says with a laugh. “All those creative execs are going, ‘Wait a minute, people knew about it before it went out? Are you sure that’s Ok?’”
For Levitz, the answer is a resounding yes. His company is shaking up the traditional approach to creating film and TV adaptations by putting the power in the hands of fans.
Just last month, the third movie in the “Through My Window” series, adapted from Wattpad author Ariana Godoy’s webnovels, dominated the Netflix film charts, amassing 14 million views...

Hawk-eye in tennis is now a regular technological feature, and it has been used at the professional level for nearly two decades.
Ultimately, Hawk-Eye is a technology system that tracks ball flight and determines close-line calls in the game. The computerised system provides an animated image showing where a ball would have landed via an action replay to eliminate wrong decisions from line judges and umpires.
Despite its level of accuracy in the sport, Hawk-Eye has caused some controversy. Even though it has been in operation since 2006, the technology system produces some errors , which have led to player frustrations in recent years.
As a result, debates have arisen about the use of Hawk-Eye in tennis and whether it is still relevant in the game.

Synopsis
Black Hawk Down
From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (The Martian) and renowned producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pearl Harbor) comes the gripping true story about bravery, camaraderie, and the complex reality of war.
Black Hawk Down stars an exceptional cast including Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, and Eric Bana. In 1993, an elite group of American Rangers and Delta Force soldiers are sent to Somalia on a critical mission to capture a violent warlord whose corrupt regime has led to the starvation of hundreds of thousands of Somalis. When the mission goes quickly and terribly wrong, the men find themselves outnumbered and literally fighting for their lives.
The Guns Of Navarone
Academy Award®-winners Gregory Peck, David Niven, and Anthony Quinn star as a team of Allied military specialists recruited for a dangerous but imperative mission: to infiltrate a Nazi-occupied fortress and disable two long-range field guns so that 2,000 trapped British soldiers may be rescued.

Before Tony Hawk was a household name with his own skateboard company, video game franchise, and more, he signed on to serve as David Spade‘s stunt double in Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time on the project as he was fired for growing a little too quickly.
While appearing on David Spade’s Fly on the Wall podcast (h/t EW), Tony Hawk discussed his time on Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol and how he came to be booted from the movie. “I went through a growth spurt, from the time we tried out [for the movie] to the time we got there, and so for the first week, they were like, ‘I think that guy is too tall,’” Hawk said. “And I remember the director saying ‘y’know, he’s a pretty good skater but he’s a bad stunt double!

After getting stranded from their wide-stretching treasure hunt on an island the crew calls “Pogulandia,” “Outer Banks” Season 3 picks up right where it left off in the ongoing love triangle between Kiara (Madison Bailey), JJ (Rudy Pankow) and Pope (Jonathan Daviss).
While Kiara and JJ and Pope and newcomer Cleo (Carlacia Grant) lean on each other, respectively, as they embrace island-living, their surprise return to Kitty Hawk quickly switches up the dynamic as the Pogues must face the family — or at least, what’s left of one — that awaits them back home.
“After being on the island, Kiara and JJ saw a certain side of each other, that brought them closer,” Bailey told TheWrap. “This season is kind of the ups and downs of figuring out what that chemistry means. How do you create a relationship out of chemistry?...

Hawk and Dove are a big part of the DC Universe Titans TV series. Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly told us more about them.
Hawk and Dove make their big entrance on Titans episode 2, which is titled (appropriately enough) “Hawk and Dove.” Their arrival marks an immediate shift for the series, which becomes less about Dick Grayson’s post-Batman issues as Robin and a little bit more about establishing a fully lived-in world of DC superheroes. Created by the legendary Steve Ditko (of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange fame), the pair were initially Hank and Don Hall, a pair of superheroic brothers, before they were revamped by Karl and Barbara Kesel as Hank Hall and Dawn Granger.

In the "Titans" TV pilot, actor Brenton Thwaites plays 'Dick Grayson', aka 'Robin', former protege of 'Batman'.
Cast also includes Alan Ritchson as 'Hank Hall'/Hawk', Minka Kelly as 'Dawn Granger'/'Dove' and Lindsey Gort as 'Detective Amy Rohrbach'.
"Titans", developed by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, will debut in 2018 on DC Comics' new direct-to-consumer digital service.

Charlie Bronson cashed in big with this lightweight action thriller co-starring Jill Ireland and Robert Duvall. Did Duvall get involved because the original concept was a serious look at political scandals between big business, the CIA and Chile? The clues from the real source story are still there.

Burt Reynolds, one of We Are Movie Geeks favorite actors, turns 80 today. Happy Birthday Burt!
On February 11th, 1936, Reynolds was born in Waycross, Georgia, before his family moved to Jupiter Florida, where his father served as Chief of Police. Young Burt excelled at sports and played football at Florida State University. He became an All Star Southern Conference halfback (and was earmarked by the Baltimore Colts) before injuries sidelined his football career. He dropped out of college and headed to New York with dreams of becoming an actor. There he worked in restaurants and clubs while pulling the odd TV job or theater role. Burt was spotted in a New York City stage production of Mister Roberts and signed to a TV contract and eventually had recurring roles in such shows as Gunsmoke (1955), Riverboat (1959) and his own series, Hawk...

Time takes its toll on all of us … even Jackie
Jackie Chan is arguably one of the most important action /martial arts stars to ever grace our screens. As happens to us all … time takes it’s toll and sadly over the years the quality of his films has degraded.
But whilst the quality of his output my have decreased , it’s not difficult to spot moments of brilliance in even his most recent movies (i.e final fight scene in Chinese Zodiac ).
2016 is a very busy year for Jackie Chan
This year is going to be a very busy one of Jackie Chan, soon we will see the release of Skiptrace followed by another 3 confirmed releases (Railroad Tigers, The Foreigner, Kung Fu Yoga) and even more films which have either been announced or are currently in production (Rush Hour 4, The Karate Kid 2, Shanghai Noon Sequel).

Robert Altman: Eclectic Maverick

Editor’s note: This article originally appeared in the April 1999 issue of Venice Magazine.
It's the Fall of 1977 and I'm a bored and rebellious ten year old in search of a new movie to occupy my underworked and creativity-starved brain, feeling far too mature for previous favorites Wily Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) and Return of the Pink Panther (1975), and wanting something more up-to-date and edgy than Chaplin's City Lights (1931). I needed a movie to call my favorite that would be symbolic of my own new-found manhood (and something that would really piss off my parents and teachers). Mom and Dad were going out for the evening, leaving me with whatever unfortunate baby-sitter happened to need the $10 badly enough to play mother hen to an obnoxiously precocious only child like myself. I scanned the TV Guide for what...

As expected, for the moment Hawk Koch can't run the Producer's Guild of America and the Acdemy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences at the same time. The PGA sent out a statement: “In light of Hawk Koch’s new position as the President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Koch is taking a leave of absence from the Presidency of the Producers Guild of America. Mark Gordon will continue as the sole President of the PGA.” And Gordon said: “I am thrilled for Hawk, whose dedication to the industry is unsurpassed. There is no one whose council I value more so I will, of course, continue to seek his advice in matters relating to the PGA.”...

After many seasons of Archer talking about his man crush, it was only fitting to bring in Burt Reynolds for the show's real season three premiere, "The Man From Jupiter."
No, I'm not counting the amazing "Heart of Archness" miniseries. As hilarious as Pirate King Archer may have been, this season began tonight.
Here, we meet up with Archer at a bar, hilariously failing to pick up two chicks. Well, only one on camera. The hot one was in the powder room. That's when we met Reynolds, playing himself, and stealing every scene he's in.
Luckily, Archer got all his Reynolds movie references out of the way within the first few seconds of meeting his hero. And for those of us that never took the time to see the first two-thirds of the soon-to-be McClusky trilogy, we were treated the most hilarious self-referential news possible: there never were any airboats in Gator.

Is the named director of a film the one who's actually been calling the shots? Here are 11 where a 'ghost director' may have been involved.
It's not that uncommon for a director to take their name off a film, and to leave the moniker Alan Smithee or whatever the current equivalent is behind. However, what's considerably rarer is when a film is released under the name of one director, but it's later revealed or rumoured that, actually, other hands were at work, either for a solid chunk or even the entirety of a production. That a film was, for want of a better phrase, 'ghost directed'.
