The Plunderers (1960) would be remade as The Incident (1967), aboard a NYC subway car. Same premise, but only two punks
this time: Martin Sheen and Tony Musante. Beau Bridges plays the Jeff Chandler role, as a soldier on leave with a broken arm. Sheen and Ed McMahon made their feature-film acting debuts in The Incident (1967), along with Donna Mills.
The film was made by August Productions for Allied Artists. August was a production company established by Jeff Chandler in association with writer Bob Barbash and publicist Jess Rand. Chandler described the film as "not a Western though the locale is the West." Steve Broidy of Allied Artists was so happy with the film he requested three more movies from August, only two of which Chandler had to appear in, but The Plunderers (1960) was its first and only film.
Portions of the film were reportedly shot on location in Topanga Canyon, CA.
