One of the victims in this film is depicted as a dance hall performer, seen doing the "can-can" on stage shortly before she is found dead in an alley. All of the real Ripper victims were destitute streetwalkers, reduced to paying their rent by acts of prostitution.
Jack the Ripper derived his nickname from the fact that he eviscerated, then literally disemboweled, most of his victims. This film has him merely stabbing one of them repeatedly, then running off into the night.
