When you see TV trucks, the call letters painted on the side are KTLE, which is a reference to the Los Angeles TV station KTLA, channel 5.
Jack Sher pulled off a trifecta with this movie. He co-wrote the screenplay, which was based on his short story, Memo on Kathy O'Rourke. He also directed it and co-wrote the title song that the Diamonds sing, which hit number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1958. This was also achieved by Prince, who wrote and directed Graffiti Bridge and had a #6 hit song with Thieves in the Temple. Prince, however, also plays and sings on his hit single, Sher only co-wrote Kathy O'.
