- In order to make it fit into a TV package in the 50s, it was edited down to a short and retitled "Do It Yourself."
- There is an Italian edition of this film on DVD, distributed by DNA srl, "VENT'ANNI DOPO (1938) + TESTE DURE (Pie-Eyed, 1925)" (2 Films on a single DVD, with "Block-Heads" in double version 1.33:1 and 1.78:1), re-edited with the contribution of film historian Riccardo Cusin. This version is also available for streaming on some platforms.
- A colorized version is available and as well as being shown on German TV as "Dick und Doof - Lange Leitung" is available in English on DVD.
- In some available prints the opening MGM lion was removed. Film Classics and Blackhawk Films later replaced the "Block-Heads" title card with one of their own to remove all references to MGM and Loew's Incorporated. The UK 2004 DVD release has the opening MGM lion and original title cards with the copyright for Loew's Incorporated intact.
