"Shifting Sands" threw friendships and loyalties into question, as Vans was left with a cold lesson in the realities of war.
He was naive. Then, I'm reminded that he really is just a kid. He wanted to visit the pyramids, and New Year's Eve in Times Square and the girl he met online in New Hampshire. And he couldn't comprehend that someone he trusted and grew up with could be Taliban. But this is a war and war changes people.
I appreciated everyone's loyalty to Vans and how they spoke up to defend him, but I understood Col. Marks' position. Vans put himself in a bad spot when he lied to Rebecca so he could talk to his friend. Despite everyone's outrage, Marks would have been irresponsible not to detain Vans after that. The decisions about who to trust become a lot more difficult when you're the one in charge.

"Fable 3" launched with a number of strengths, as well as a few shortcomings, and Lionhead Studios attempted to improve a few things with a patch over Xbox Live today. Though the bundle of notes Lionhead released may not be comprehensive, it does list some useful improvements that will prevent awkward conversation glitches and keep you from falling off of worlds.
A studio rep cited the following fixes in a post this morning on Lionhead.com, and as you can see problems are getting addressed:
Major Fixes
Sanctuary: Fixed numerous issues whereby Jasper would stop talking or whereby the world map would become unusable
Quests: Tabletop: The Hobbes may not spawn in the last area causing the player to be unable to progress
Quest: Tabletop: Online multiplayer: Player host is unable to vault off platform to Hobbe area
Quest: Tabletop: Player can become stuck behind some rocks
Quest: Tabletop: After defeating...

Chicago - We’re approaching an entertainment apocalypse as the new four horsemen arrive on the hill: Redbox, Comcast, Marketeers and Spencer Pratt. In a decade, we’re going to be watching puppet shows on network TV and not even Jeff Dunham level puppet shows. But let’s give a run down of trainwrecks that will claim the lives of entertainment business models.
Redbox is a simple concept - a kiosk that allows you to rent a hot new DVD title for a $1 a day. There will be 20,000 of them across the country in grocery stores, drugstores and Wal-marts by the end of the year. They’re a mini-Blockbuster that’s doesn’t required a zit-faced dreamer to run the register. What’s the problem with Redbox? It’s killing to DVD sales market faster than Blockbuster and Netflix. Having Redbox inside Wal-Mart wrecks the impulse buying temptation of the giant sale bin.
