- A couple of years ago, after my brother's death in 2013, I stumbled upon some undeveloped 35 mm film at my mother's home in Colombia. Once I developed the negatives, besides family pictures, birthdays, and first communions, I found a black and white series of photographs that Pacho had taken during a photography class, while he was doing his undergraduate studies in graphic design. The developed black and white negatives produced stills of Pacho with a group of friends taking pictures of themselves in a studio, and stills of architecture photos in the towns of San Gil, Barichara and Guane in the Province of Santarder, Colombia, towns very close to my home town and well known for its colonial homes and picturesque cobblestone roads. The documentary reenacts 11 of those stills, while we listen to his friends talk about their experience of friendship with Pacho during those university years. These interviews shed a new light on my brother as a friend, as a student, as the young man that I left behind when I left the country in 2005.
- A Chameleon in Colombia is the story and closing of the life of an actor, singer, air pilot and bullfighter who maintained the leadership as a foreigner in everything that was proposed. He was working as an actor in different novels and at the same time he played in bullfight corridas and sang. One day one of the best writers of Colombian cinema proposed to him to make a short film of his life in Columbia and convinced him during his last corrida and performance and from there the short film was made. Some professional actors, friends and colleagues of profession convinced him to agree to the film because the Colombian people adored him, in fact they gave him the nickname of the chameleon, they did not want to miss filming what would be his last performance. He was even awarded by the cities of Malaga north of Santander. Two important Colombian singers participated in the event including the star girl of the moment and the double of Juan Gabriel. For Karlos Granada, it was an honor to participate in this short film that will remain for the history of the Colombian people. The people will remember what life was like for an idol of multitudes given to a man of the people as he considers himself, a man from the countryside who helps everyone. Hope this film is also to your liking as it was for the state of Bucaramanga and Malaga where it was awarded and honor.
