After Mother's departure to Africa on the mission of the Doctors Without Borders, this world undergoes a significant change. Her father must learn how to take care of his daughters on his own. Gaja's sister Tea's teenage naivete' lands her in a world of online threats and crime, but clever, crafty Gaja can hand all the problems. Her best friend Matic, a computer genius, is always under attack from his more powerful classmates, but Gaja is not afraid of anyone. She proves that the weakest can be the strongest if the brains and the heart are in the right place. Despite occasional violations of the rules, Gaja's decisions match that cordial and sincere world that always touches us. The main message of the film is that the courage always brings the solution to the problem, and this is also the belief that every parent would want to transmit to his/her children.

- The breathtaking opening vistas of Personal Baggage, with a choral score to match, give fair but subliminal warning to the audience: this film will twist you and turn you. A talented but spoilt young man smothered in the affection of his adoring mother and heedless of his aloof father; his grandfather, a benevolent but self-important patriarch; and his new girl-friend, a creature of voluptuous innocence wrestling with the torment of a dysfunctional home, are the central characters in this ensemble narrative of strained love and spiralling desire. The masterfully portrayed characters reveal the inexorable issues, or baggage, they bring with them, and ultimately their own baggage becomes a ruinous physical burden. The peripheral, chorus-like characters, including a reclusive painter and her friend, an unworldly man of the woods, provide their own touching story, but offer no redemption. And surrounding the entire film is the remote yet haunting presence of the Slovenian forests, which have been slowly yielding up their own gruesome historical baggage, a subtext that director Janez Lapajne uses to excruciatingly ironic effect.

On the road through Slovenia and Croatia - two countries that have just recently seceded from Yugoslavia - they are accompanied by a young runaway woman with a mysterious past and an old biker who has seen the world in search of freedom but has still not found it. They challenge themselves and each other through shared experiences, severing their ties with and conceptions of the old and thus making way for the new. However, the path is treacherous: with the sudden death of a companion, their friendship is at stake and the pain is unbearable without someone to blame. Personal values are tested, God's purpose unclear, and free will questioned. The protagonists' road trip is not what they expected, and to break free they must endure a quest for identity that irrevocably changes their lives. A timeless story about the search for one's true self. The use of poetic realism and unconventional structure puts the viewer in the driving seat of this thought-provoking and emotional journey.
