Born Barbara Lillian Combes, she attended Los Angeles Junior College in the mid-1930s and then moved to New York City, where she worked as a model. In 1945, she received a contract from MGM, and she appeared in several films during the late 1940s and 1950s, sometimes without screen credit. In the 1950s, she turned to television and appeared in shows including the sitcoms Professional Father (1955) and The Box Brothers (1956), as well as guest-starring on "The Abbott and Costello Show", the David Niven anthology series, Four Star Playhouse (1952), and the sitcom, Mr. Adams and Eve (1957). In 1957, Billingsley began starring in the sitcom, Leave It to Beaver (1957), as "June Cleaver", mother to "Wally" and "Theodore", nicknamed "Beaver". She appeared in her most famous role for 234 episodes, remaining with the show until it ended after six seasons. After 17 years of semi-retirement, Billingsley returned to movies in 1980's Airplane! (1980), creating another iconic role by spoofing her wholesome image with a brief appearance in this send-up of 1970s disaster movies, as a middle-aged white passenger who could translate between a white stewardess and two African-American passengers, because "I speak jive". She also appeared in The New Leave It to Beaver (1983), which ran from 1983 to 1989, and voiced the character of "Nanny" in the Muppet Babies (1984) cartoon series, from 1984 to 1991. Billingsley continued to act occasionally, including appearances on the sitcoms, Roseanne (1988) and Empty Nest (1988), and died at her home, after having dealt for several years with the effects of a rheumatoid disease.- Actor

Capable Chinese-American actor Chao Li Chi was born in Shanxi Province, China to a prominent local family. When he was 12 years old, he and his family fled China and emigrated to New York City as refugees from the Second Sino-Japanese War. Academically-gifted and well-versed in the ancient arts of Taoism and Wutang martial arts, Chi became an accomplished dancer who incorporated his physical disciplines into modern dance techniques, touring with avant-garde filmmaker and choreographer Maya Deren. He studied acting through Pearl S. Buck's 'East-and-West Association', and made his debut in Deren's short film Meditation on Violence (1949). Settling in Los Angeles, Chi found regular work as a character actor in film and television. He played the loyal majordomo Chao-Li in all 9 seasons of the primetime soap opera Falcon Crest (1981), and appeared in such movies as Big Trouble in Little China (1986), The Joy Luck Club (1993), The Nutty Professor (1996), Blood Work (2002), and The Prestige (2006). All the while, he continued to practice and teach philosophy and martial arts, co-founding the Taoist Institute in North Hollywood and lead a Saturday morning t'ai chi class every week, for 30 years straight. Anthony M. Lanza was born in 1936 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He made his own 16mm movies as a kid and studied film at the University of Southern California. After graduating from USC, Anthony secured his first motion picture gig as both co-editor and co-producer of Timothy Carey's sublimely screwy one-of-a-kind exploitation oddity The World's Greatest Sinner (1962). Lanza went on to edit such offbeat low-budget movies as Wild Guitar (1962), The Sadist (1963), What's Up Front! (1964), The Nasty Rabbit (1964), Deadwood '76 (1965), Dinah East (1970) and Doomsday Voyage (1972). He was an assistant director on both The Skydivers (1963) and Bigfoot (1970). Moreover, he handled post-production supervisor duties on such straight-to-video items as Body Count (1995) and The Dangerous (1995). Lanza has directed three theatrical features: the gritty biker romp The Glory Stompers (1967) ('Dennis Hopper (I)''s first-ever biker flick), the dire talk show spoof "The Irv Carlson Show" and the supremely schlocky sci-fi/horror camp hoot The Incredible 2-Headed Transplant (1971). In addition, he directed another three pictures that either weren't finished or failed to receive theatrical releases: "Desert Gems," "Freedom Riders" and "Squeeze Play."
