Tom Gibney was a fixture behind the news desk at CTV in Toronto beginning in the early 1970s. He stepped down as the anchor of CFTO News in April 2001, but continued to periodically appear as a substitute anchor on CTV's flagship station in Toronto until his retirement in November 2007.
