Mickey Rourke The Iron Man 2 Villain

6 January 2009 8:00 PM, PST

Shockingly bad ass news from Variety. Rumor has it that Mickey Rourke is in talks to play the villain in Iron Man 2. Obviously flush with cash after dropping Terrence Howard who reportedly made more money then Downey for Iron Man they can now bring on some real power houses; “Rourke is in discussions to play a villain described as Tony Stark’s Russian alter ego, a heavily tattooed bruiser who is in the arms trade and battles Iron Man in his own nuclear-powered armored suit.” Seriously.. can you do better for a Villain? I think not! The speculation is the villain is Crimso...

Judge Dredd Remake Concept Art

6 January 2009 8:00 PM, PST

As you should know there is a reboot of Judge Dredd being planned and now from ReelComix we have some pretty darn neat looking concept art for you to checkout below. Judge Dredd is a movie that was panned by many but I for one am a fan. I enjoyed it for all its B-Movie goodness and over the top explosions. DNA Films the masterminds behind 28 Days Later, Sunshine and 28 Weeks Later are going to take a stab at developing a new film based off the hit comic series. I at this point am starting to wonder if perhaps they might look to Danny Boyles to direct which would be absolute genius....

The Punisher : War Zone Movie Review

6 January 2009 8:00 PM, PST

What always amuses me is people who expect a well established comic book charecter to be what they are not. Most reviews on this film are negative. As a long time reader of comics and The Punisher this is a fantastic film. Unlike the previous 2 efforts this movie matches the comic and does not introduce "Movie only" charecters that water down the story. The film is well cast Micro is perfect! Frank is really The Punisher and this film uses a real villian from the comics JigSaw!(also well cast). The story is fast moving and graphically violent but in a nutshell: Frank kills undercover agent, ...

Tron Sequel Renamed.. now a Remake?

6 January 2009 8:00 PM, PST

Tr2n has been renamed once again. First it was Tron 2, then it was Trz then it was Tr2n and now... dun dun dun. its Tron again. Frankly way better name. Also according to The Hollywood Reporter Garret Hedlund will star. Going back to the origianl films name really makes me think they might be looking to remake versus do a sequel.

The synopsis for said sequel so far is as follows; After being transported into the surreal landscape of a mainframe computer to destroy an intruder (Tron), a programmer finds himself allied with the leader of a rebellion against a corrupt cyber-entity.

McG Doing 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Prequel

6 January 2009 8:00 PM, PST

When McG is done doing his Terminator sequel Terminator Salvation he will be moving on to doing a prequel to 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Scripted by Bill Marsilli, the film is an origin story of Nemo as he creates his warship, the Nautilus.

The original film is of course based off the Jules Verne novel. I actually think this could be a pretty cool film but I have alot of questions on what a prequel could really focus on? The original movie was about a giant monster so whats the focus of the making of the ship in a prequel?
