Katherine Bourne Taylor
- Actress
- Producer
- Director
Katherine was born to an elementary school music teacher mother and a carpenter father, who built musical instruments out of their garage. Raised in the Pacific Northwest (without cable TV), she developed an affinity for fan fiction, creepy woods, community theatre, and sneaking downstairs to watch movies on their tiny basement TV.
Katherine earned her BFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University (Bob Hope Acting Award) in Dallas, Texas. Upon graduation, she worked as a regional theatre actor around DFW, where she was a company member at Undermain Theatre, and a recipient of the "Dallas Mastermind" and "Best of Big D" awards for her contributions to independent, self-produced theatre. After training at the prestigious School at Steppenwolf, she moved to Chicago and discovered how to survive a midwest winter as well as a love of acting on film. Her first short film, "Cool for Five Seconds" was a selection at over 25 film festivals, and is currently on the curated short film Youtube channel Omeleto with over 100,000 views.
Since moving to Los Angeles, she's had principal roles in national commercials, continued her filmmaking journey with new projects, and recently starred in the indie feature "Clown and Out". She continues to perform her original sketch character, "Grown Up Orphan Annie", and you can catch her performing improv bi-weekly with Fishnet, a house team at The Pack Theater in Hollywood. She's also a stakeholder with The Back Room Shakespeare Project LA- performing Shakespeare plays, fully memorized with one rehearsal- in a bar. She's watched over 75 South Korean dramas (K-Dramas) in the last two years, and has a spreadsheet to prove it.
