Whenever "Saturday Night Live" has a host who's been deemed by the masses to be particularly attractive, it's pretty much a guarantee the writers will throw in a sketch all about how hot they are. Jason Momoa recently got a whole "Cast Away" parody sketch where Momoa swoops in to easily steal another man's wife. Back in 2016, Margot Robbie had a sexy librarian sketch, as well as a "Live Report" sketch where a bunch of newscasters tried to figure out why a character who looks like Robbie is married to a man who wears Crocs with socks.
Even when the sketch isn't specifically about how hot the host is, you often get the sense that a cast member pitched and wrote a sketch with the sole purpose of getting to kiss the host at some point. From Kate McKinnon making out with Gal Gadot, to Vanessa Bayer having a secret love affair with Kristen Stewart,...

During Elordi’s opening monologue, he first mentioned “Saltburn,” the current buzzy movie that made headlines for its graphic sex scenes. “You might know me from ‘Saltburn.’ Not from seeing the film, just from seeing the TikToks,” he began, cutting to a scene when his co-star, Barry Keoghan, has sex with a grave. “I was the one in the grave. If you saw the movie, thank you. If you saw the movie with your parents, I’m sorry. If you saw the movie with your girlfriend, you’re welcome.”

Jacob Elordi may need to approach his Saturday Night Live hosting debut with baby steps.
The NBC sketch show released the first promo Wednesday for this weekend’s episode, which Elordi will lead alongside musical guest Reneé Rapp. The episode marks SNL’s first new season 49 installment since Kate McKinnon hosted with singer Billie Eilish on Dec. 16.
In the footage, Elordi is seen at the top of the stage in Studio 8H as he attempts to descend the three steps that hosts typically strut down on their way to performing the opening monologue. But castmembers Punkie Johnson and Marcello Hernández notice that Elordi can’t quite wrap his head around the brief walk.
“They all make it look so easy,” Elordi says to himself in a pep talk about tackling the steps. A confused Hernández overhears and asks, “Is he looking at the stairs?”

Thanks to “Priscilla,” “Saltburn,” and “The Sweet East,” “Euphoria” breakout Jacob Elordi is now a bona fide Hollywood star. But before those movies ruled the festival circuits this year, Elordi had another film on the way that was postponed due to the untimely death of its director. Jacob Elordi's résumé is impressive, given the actor's relatively short career. Born and raised in Brisbane, Australia, Elordi always knew he wanted to be an actor. According to a 2022 GQ cover story, he idolized actors like Marlon Brando and Heath Ledger, which sparked his interest in performing. At the age of 12, he started acting in school plays, and by the time he was 17, he landed his first film gig as an extra in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" (2017), per Just Jared. The following year, he starred in "Swinging Safari" and Netflix's "The Kissing Booth," which launched him into stardom in an instant and opened many doors for him to star in other works, including the acclaimed HBO series by Sam Levinson, "Euphoria," which will return for a third season in 2025.

With film festival season comes a multitude of glimpses at the upcoming winter cinema slate, and one of the most exciting is a new trailer for "Saltburn," a psychological thriller from Emerald Fennell, the writer-director of the Oscar-winning "Promising Young Woman." This first look gives us illustrious aristocratic parties, ominous butlers, steamy sex scenes through windows, and a never-been-sexier Jacob Elordi ("Euphoria") doused in glorious sunlight. The film's stacked cast features Barry Keoghan, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe, Rosamund Pike, and Richard E. Grant.
The first trailer dropped shortly before the film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, and early reviews demonstrate that this is one to watch. The latest trailer, released on Oct. 19, follows the first look we were given in September. The movie has been described by critics as "diabolical, sexy, dangerous, horny, brave, hilarious, audacious, and insane," with Entertainment Weekly calling it "a provocative, violent portrait of repulsion and desire.

Ever since Barbie Ferreira announced she won't be reprising her role as Kat Hernandez in season three of "Euphoria," fans have been wondering what this means for Austin Abrams, who plays her ex-boyfriend Ethan Daley on the show. As of now, it looks like the 26-year-old is expecting to return for the third installment, though in what capacity remains unclear.
While speaking with The Nerds of Color in February, Abrams shared his hopes for the upcoming season. "Yeah, I got no idea. I don't know what is happening or going on," he said of season three. "I mean, I think [season two] for him has been a cool change and awakening. I feel like he's just becoming more of an adult now, just having more of a backbone and standing up for himself, which I think is super cool. But yeah, I got no idea. I mean, Sam [Levinson] always surprises me.

When the 2022 Emmy nominations were announced, Sydney Sweeney joined an elite group of 24 individuals who each earned their first two TV academy acting bids in the same year. As a “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus” cast member, she is respectively in the running for both the Best Drama Supporting Actress and Best Movie/Limited Supporting Actress prizes. Triumphing in at least one category would make her only the fourth doubly-nominated female first-timer to pull off a win, after Eileen Brennan (1981: won for “Private Benjamin”; lost for “Taxi”), Jane Lynch (2010: won for “Glee”; lost for “Two and a Half Men”) and Ann Dowd (2017: won for “The Handmaid’s Tale”; lost for “The Leftovers”).

Jacob Elordi's parents are really big fans of their son's work. In an Aug. 8 interview with GQ, Elordi explained that his parents are both very proud of his achievements - so proud that they apparently have t-shirts printed with images of almost every character their son has portrayed onscreen.
25-year-old Elordi, known for his roles in "The Kissing Booth" and "Euphoria," went on to elaborate on his very positive relationship with his parents in the piece. His father, he said, is the "totem of the kind of man that I would like to be" - so quite a bit different from Cal Jacobs, Elordi's character Nate's troubled father on "Euphoria." He also described his mother as "the most present, loving, just beautiful, angelic human being on this planet," and added that after watching the episode of "Euphoria" where his character gets arrested for assault, his mother called him, genuinely upset.

Jacob Elordi is the bad boy of “Euphoria” thanks to his performance as Nate Jacobs, who is a far cry from the more wholesome heartthrob the actor played in Netflix’s “The Kissing Booth” series. It was the streamer’s romantic-comedy films that first made Elordi an internet sensation, but the actor told GQ magazine that he pushed Netflix to make his character far more edgy. Elordi starred opposite Joey King in “The Kissing Booth,” which was based on Beth Reekles’ 2012 novel. Elordi’s character, Noah, smokes in the novel, but Netflix refused to let Elordi smoke on screen.
“I remember saying, ‘He smokes in the book. I need to smoke. He needs to have cigarettes. He’s a bad boy,” Elordi said, adding that his repeated requests to smoke in the movie were turned down by Netflix.
“I was like, ‘This is bullshit!’ I remember going to war for it,...

“Euphoria” season two ramped up the volume of an already tumultuous series, giving us even more favorite scenes to look back on. Check out the “Euphoria” cast’s best moments from season two, ranked from iconic to downright chaotic.
Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez: Maddy’s Vomit-Inducing Monologue
Ranking as the most iconic character in the series, Maddy’s fight with Nate in the hot tub during her birthday takes the cake as her best performance. While Maddy’s “bitch, you better be joking,” this monologue gives her pettiness an opportunity to shine as she mocks Nate for his empty promises and web of lies. As Maddy points out Nate’s gaslighting, Cassie can’t hold in her guilt — or her vomit — anymore.

With the countdown officially on for the fifth and final season of "Stranger Things," David Harbour, who plays Sheriff Jim Hopper, is already making suggestions for more Hawkins mayhem. "Stranger Things" creators Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed a spinoff will happen in the future, although they did say it would be "different than what anyone is expecting" in an interview with Variety.
With no news on which characters the spinoff might include, Harbour has some thoughts. In an interview with GQ, the 47-year-old said: "At this point, I think Hopper is a character that can exist independent of me. If they wanna go back in time, forward in time . . . I'd love to see another actor play Hopper, and see what they can bring to it."
And who will that actor be? Harbour's top pick is "Euphoria"'s Jacob Elordi, who plays Nate Jacobs.

Should every TV show be a musical?
Maybe, depending who you ask (Yasper from “The Afterparty” we suspect is strongly in favor). There’s no denying the power of musical numbers, scores, opening credits, or just the right needle drop to propel a television scene from enjoyable to legendary. Moments like this were so bountiful in 2022 that IndieWire decided to pick the best ones as we comb through the best of this TV year so far. Below, in order of premiere, are the most memorable musical moments from 2022 TV.
1. “Peacemaker”: Opening Credits
It’s been a wondrous year for opening credits, none more bizarre and perfect than “Peacemaker.” James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” spinoff had a tough job with its HBO Max debut, spotlighting one of the only white male characters from the 2021 film and making a case, somehow, for the floundering DC Extended Universe.

If any actress has shown viewers their range in the last year it would be Sydney Sweeney, who at 24 has a jam-packed roster of top-tier projects including HBO‘s Euphoria and The White Lotus. Sweeney shines in her these very different roles of Cassie Howard in the Sam Levinson-helmed teen ensemble and Olivia Mossbacher in Mike White‘s quirky resort tale. In Euphoria‘s first season, Cassie’s love of love was evident, but her desire to find it in Season 2 gave Sweeney some of her meatiest work yet. She was sent on an emotional ride that ranged from hiding a hookup with Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) from his ex and her bestie Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) to intense bathroom breakdowns and onstage brawls. In addition to the fighting, screaming, and slapping in Cassie’s Season 2 arc, Sweeney found another approach to emotional intensity as a judgmental college student...

This weekend saw a "Bridgerton" and "Euphoria" mashup, and we were not ready for the two worlds to collide. Two of our favorite stars from the hit TV shows, Simone Ashley and Jacob Elordi, were spotted hanging out together at the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo, and we're already imagining what a show with these two would look like.
Ashley, who plays Kate Sharma on "Bridgerton," certainly looked like the diamond of the season wearing a handkerchief-print halter-neck top by Conner Ives, split black trousers, and Ancient Greek sandals. She posed in the pit lane with Elordi, who plays Nate Jacobs on "Euphoria," as he wore an achingly cool retro Gulf jacket. The two took pictures outside the Red Bull Racing garage alongside Frédéric Arnault, CEO of Tag Heuer, and actor Patrick Dempsey.

When “Euphoria” star Sydney Sweeney first heard about the clandestine relationship her character, Cassie Howard, was set to embark on with Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), the newly ex-boyfriend of Cassie’s best friend, Maddy (Alexa Demie), in Season 2 of the HBO drama, she had just one thought.
“Everyone’s gonna hate Cassie. I knew it,” Sweeney tells Gold Derby. “People are gonna be very upset with her.”
But the chaos created by Cassie’s decision had some advantages for Sweeney, who was given some of her best material yet and delivered. After one particularly memorable image – that of a crying Cassie seated in front of an ornate backdrop of flowers – Vanity Fair called Sweeney the season’s “acting Mvp.”

Euphoria concluded its sophomore season on a note of suspense for nearly every character, including Jacob Elordi’s unhinged and insecure teen Nate Jacobs. At a Euphoria FYC event held at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Elordi spoke to Deadline about what Nate calling the cops on his father (Eric Dean) means for his character.
“I think maybe he’s at the end of of his tether and that’s him facing his demon or his god even,” he said. “That’s kind of the last thing he can do.”
In addition to ratting out his dad in the season’s final episodes, Nate broke things off with Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), leaving her to confront the wrath and heartbreak of best friend Maddy (Alexa Demie). With fractured relationships and a tragic end for a Euphoria staple, season three has great potential to pick up the pieces. However,...

Brian Cox has never, ever been happier.
The “Succession” star hilariously gave a fresh twist on the viral “Euphoria” Season 2 scene that found Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) manically declaring her love for Jacob Elordi’s Nate while in the high school bathroom. To get into the character, Cox donned a cowboy hat and blue checkered shirt to step into the role in a skit for the March 14 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Watch the sketch below.
“F*ck it,” Cox says in the sketch, his hand on his hip. “I’m in love with Nate Jacobs, and he’s in love with me and don’t you f*cking give me that look!”
To Rue (Zendaya), Kat (Barbie Ferreira), and Maddy (Alexa Demie), Cox continues in a whisper, “You can all judge me if you want but I don’t care. I have never, ever been happier!” He then bites into...

Succession‘s Brian Cox regrets calling Johnny Depp “overrated” in his recent memoir, the actor told Jimmy Kimmel last night, saying he went for an “easy joke” that came off sounding harsh.
“You know what it’s like,” Cox said on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live when asked about the Depp comments in his book Putting the Rabbit in the Hat. “You go for the easy joke, and I went for the easy joke.” Cox then said, “I sort of regretted it, because I’m not like that normally. I was just being a bit glib, a bit flip.”
Asked whether he’d heard from Depp since the book’s publication last year, Cox said, “I’ve heard a lot from his, they call it a fan club, but I think it’s some kind of CIA agency that works on his behalf.”

Jimmy Kimmel gave us the Succession and Euphoria crossover we never knew we needed. In a March 14 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Succession star Brian Cox reenacted the Oklahoma! bathroom scene from Euphoria Season 2 Episode 3, “Ruminations: Big and Little Bullys.” And he played Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie. Wearing a blue and white checkered button-down shirt and a cowboy hat, Cox was edited into the scene with Euphoria characters Maddy (Alexa Demie), Kat (Barbie Ferreira), Rue (Zendaya), and Lexi (Maude Apatow). He recites Cassie’s lines word for word. After Maddy’s “B*tch, you better be joking” line (now one of the best memes from Season 2), Cox goes into Cassie’s unforgettable rant. And it’s impossible not to see it as Logan Roy going on one of his staple rants. “No! Yes! F**k it!” he says. “I am in love with Nate Jacobs and he is in love with me!

This is one crossover we never knew we needed. For an appearance on Jimmy Kimmy Live, Succession's Brian Cox got dolled up in his best checkered shirt and blue jeans to recreate the now iconic Euphoria scene where Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, has a breakdown in the school bathroom. And though the 75-year-old actor's best work is in HBO's other hit show Succession, this monologue comes in at a close second. "F--k it," Cox declares, hands on his hip. Maddy Perez is a b****. There, we said it - and if you watch HBO's "Euphoria," you might think so, too. Fierce and filterless, Maddy, played by Alex Demie, is center stage in every room and relationship. With a tight circle of friends who sing her praises and a rollercoaster relationship with a popular football jock, she appears, at first sight, to be right out of a page of the "Mean Girls" Burn Book.

After an incredible run, "Euphoria" season two is officially over. The season finale of the HBO Max hit series aired on Feb. 27, with the high amount of viewers crashing the streaming service just minutes before the premiere, as reported by Variety. Twitter also revealed the most-tweeted about “Euphoria” characters this season are Fezco (Angus Cloud); Rue Bennett (Zendaya); and Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi). According to Twitter, there have been about 270,000 tweets about #FexiHive, the fan-fave slow-burn endgame couple, Lexi and Fezco.
In addition, Twitter shared top-trending “Euphoria” memes, including “end Nate Jacobs,...

Listen, we can't say we're big fans of Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) on "Euphoria" these days. For two seasons of the HBO show, we've watched him emotionally and physically abuse just about everyone in his path, especially his romantic partners, and just be an all-around violent, bad dude. Sure, we've also seen glimpses of why he's such a tormented character, but he's still not someone we want around the characters we care about - looking at you, Maddy, Jules, and Cassie. However, as much as we don't like him, from a storytelling perspective, we're not exactly ready for him to die, but that's what one TikTok uder is theorizing may happen, and we need to discuss.
TikTok user @DevinontheRocks came across the pilot script for the show - which you can read here - and noticed that the old draft mentions Nate dying. Early in the episode, Rue says, "Last week,...

Who would've thought that Lexi Howard would be the one to take down Nate Jacobs? Certainly not us. Because, for all of Nate's faults, he's strangely immune to attacks, even physical ones. And yet, it's Lexi Howard's school play, Our Life, that absolutely decimates one of the most irredeemable characters in Euphoria. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Our Life starts off on an awkward note as classmates begin to piece together that Grace, Hallie, Marta, Luna and Jade are actually Lexi (Maude Apatow), Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), Maddy (Alexa Demie), Kat (Barbie Ferreira) and Rue (Zendaya). It also doesn't help that the opening scene confronts Rue's drug...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not seen Episode 7 of “Euphoria” Season 2.
Lexi Howard, indisputably one of the most underrated and underutilized characters in Sam Levinson’s glitter-and-grit-infused teenage fever dream “Euphoria,” has finally been given more purpose than being the preppy-in-plaid sidekick to her sister Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and best friend(ish) Rue (Zendaya) in Season 2. Fans of Lexi, portrayed by Maude Apatow, have gotten to see the character not only open up a potential romantic relationship with other fan-favorite Fezco (Angus Cloud) but also work on her high school theater magnum opus, a play about always being the ancillary character and never in the spotlight — not even in your own life.
In Episode 7 of the show’s second season, entitled “The Theater and Its Double,” viewers are given a glimpse into Lexi’s complex relationship with the young women around her, her father, her mother and herself.

Pretty much from day one, Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) has proven himself to be a grade-a Pos on "Euphoria." He's been abusive and manipulative to all of his love interests, making him someone we would absolutely stay away from if we knew him in real life. But in the Feb. 13 episode of the show, he maybe, kinda did one redeemable thing by giving Jules (Hunter Schafer) the sex tape that his dad, Cal (Eric Dane), made of the two of them together without her knowledge.
What Happened Between Nate, Jules, and Cal in "Euphoria" Season 1?
Let's rewind a bit. In season one, Cal and Jules hook up after Jules tells him she's 22 (which she's most definitely not). Cal records the two of them together without Jules's consent - something he seems to do with all his dalliances. Nate then finds Jules's tape, which throws him for a loop, since the two know each other.

Rue Bennett is on a path of destruction on "Euphoria," and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) had the misfortune of being in her way. During Sunday night's episode, Rue (Zendaya) escapes her mother, Leslie (Nika King), after Jules (Hunter Schafer) and Elliot (Dominic Fike) reveal to her that Rue's still using drugs. Rue first runs to Lexi's (Maude Apatow) place in hopes of finding more prescription medicine. While she's in the bathroom, Lexi and Cassie's mom, Suze (Alanna Ubach), calls Leslie. Leslie ends up staging an intervention in front of Lexi as well as Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Kat (Barbie Ferreira), who happen to be hanging out with Cassie at the same time.
When Rue expresses that she doesn't think she has the capability to stay sober for a long period of time, Cassie advises, "You don't have to just take it one day at a time." This is when it all goes left.
