"Here's looking at you, kid."
"You're going to need a bigger boat."
"You talking to me?"
We obviously love writers around these parts, but sometimes, the best laid plans of a screenplay simply don't work out as intended. In rare instances when the film gods are really smiling down on a movie set, the result can sometimes be that improvised lines, like the three listed above, are etched into cinema history and end up becoming the most famous lines of their respective films. Such is the case with James Cameron's box office behemoth (and flat-out terrific film) "Titanic," which has several memorable lines, but thanks to Cameron utilizing it in his eventual Oscar speech, perhaps none are as famous as when Leonardo DiCaprio's Jack Dawson shouts "I'm the king of the world!" from the bow of the doomed ocean liner.
Despite that line being synonymous with "Titanic," it wasn't in Cameron's original script.

Benedict Cumberbatch has played many iconic characters in his career. Be it his breakthrough role of playing Sherlock Holmes in BBC’s Sherlock or voicing Smaug in The Hobbit franchise, Cumberbatch has brought his absolute best to each role. He has been playing the role of Doctor Strange in the MCU since 2016 and has been featured as the character in multiple films.
However, the Sorcerer Supreme was not the first role that he was offered in the Marvel franchise. While Strange met the Asgardian brothers Thor and Loki in Thor: Ragnarok, Cumberbatch would have met them even earlier had he accepted the initial part offered to him by the studio. However, he chose to wait it out instead.

Apart from being a rising superstar in Hollywood, Tom Holland is also a quintessential film buff. The MCU star has always spoken about his admiration for movies across genres and generations while also fanboying over many of the actors he has worked with.

Holland’s enthusiasm also extended to the Harry Potter novels which he claimed were his favorite books to read growing up. The Spider-Man: No Way Home star went as far as stating that he could beat author J.K. Rowling at her own game when it came to the ultimate Harry Potter pop quiz. Tom Hardy is one of the most talented and respected actors in Hollywood. While the actor rarely plays protagonists in the projects he takes up, he manages to steal the spotlight from all of the other highly talented actors.
From his role as Alfie in Peaky Blinders, starring in Inception, and Dunkirk, as well as his work alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant, it is safe to say that versatility is one of his strongest suits.
Tom Hardy
In front the these roles, his work as Eddie Brock in the Venom series is next level. Hardy plays the role of a man who has been infected by an alien parasite and the actor does an excellent job at that. Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" has already proven itself to be one of the best films of 2023, and certainly one of the most quotable. Whether it's funny ("Do you guys ever think about dying?"), introspective, or memeable ("my job is just beach"), there are so many fantastic lines to choose as a favorite. During an interview with BBC Radio 1, Gerwig confessed that her favorite line reading is one of the film's most unexpected laughs.
Interviewer Ali Plumb said that one of his favorite line readings was when Stereotypical Barbie looked toward the sky on her drive and sees two Astronaut Barbies floating in the sky, and declares "Yay, space!" Gerwig immediately interjected with excitement, "Yay, space! That's my favorite, that's my favorite!" The line has gotten a huge laugh in every screening I've been a part of because the simplistic expression of joy is contagious. Space is something many of us are fascinated by,...

The new Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion, continues to spur debate over its release strategy, and now it appears that the Rian Johnson-directed film franchise has another potential point of contention on its hands: the merits of Chris Evans’ attire in the first movie.
During a BBC Radio 1 interview posted to social media Thursday, Daniel Craig, who stars in both Knives Out films as unflappable detective Benoit Blanc, revealed that he never understood why the cream-colored cable knit sweater that Evans’ character, Hugh Ransom Drysdalel, wears in the 2019 smash hit was met with such adulation and excitement.
“It’s the bit that goes over my head,” Craig said. “I don’t understand. It’s like, so Chris Evans is wearing a jumper. It’s like he’s naked or at least naked from the sort of waist down, wearing a jumper.

Warning: This post will contain mild spoilers for the movie "The Menu"
Mark Mylod's new film "The Menu" is about an exclusive, ultra-high-end restaurant that rests alone on a distant island. Rich patrons are boated in for an exorbitant amount of money, given a tour of the island's elaborate and near-incomprehensible food preparation facilities, and then served an hours-long multi-course meal constructed by the stern and distant celebrity chef Julian Slowik (Ralph Fiennes). Chef Julian's staff is slavishly devoted to him and to his strange, conceptual meal-making ethos; it is stated that Julian likes to prepare meals that make his diners acknowledge the way lass and food are inextricably linked.
One of the characters in "The Menu" is Tyler (Nicholas Hoult), a sniveling foodie fanboy who seems to be a little bit too impressed by everything Chef Julian says and does. Tyler was meant to bring a date on...

Before Rhys Ifans was Otto Hightower, the conniving hand of the king in HBO’s House of the Dragon, he was Hugh Grant’s eccentric, barely-dressed roommate in Notting Hill.
While the Welsh actor’s character in the Game of Thrones prequel is much more serious, it seems he’s lost none of the comedic talents that made him such a hit in Grant’s 1999 rom-com.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, the cast of HotD discussed the methods Ifans would use to make them break down in laughter during scenes.
“He didn’t need to [say anything],” Rhaenyra Targaryen actor Milly Alcock tells host Ali Plumb. “Rhys Ifans has a certain twinkle under his eye.”
Emily Carey, who plays Ifans’s daughter Alicent Hightower, interjects: “It’s just a look he gives you! Or he nudges, he loves doing that in scenes. If something goes slightly wrong he’ll just start nudging.

In "Thor: Love and Thunder," Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Jane Foster aka the Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and Korg (director Taika Waititi) travel to Omnipotence City, the gathering place for deities of all pantheons. They're visiting to ask Zeus (Russell Crowe), the king of the Greek gods (and master of ceremonies), for help in their fight against Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale). The stands are full of figures of worship from all across the universe when they enter the arena.
We've got Zeus and his Greek pantheon including Dionysus, Athena, and Artemis. We've got the Kronan (Korg's people), a god made of rock sitting on a throne of scissors, the Egyptian and Wakandan cat goddess Bast, an Elche goddess, Quetzalcóatl from the Aztecs, and others that we're probably familiar with. There are the gods of emotion that our heroes disguise themselves as, a creature called Fur God,...

Bowie was named most influential by judges as they commended his influence across the industry and ability to transcend a variety of mediums including music, film and fashion.
A team of judges across music, film and TV, performing arts, literature and visual art were asked to create the list by TV channel Sky Arts in a celebration of British artists past and present and their influence on global culture. Marvel has officially released the first trailer for Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld’s “Hawkeye” series on Disney+, but fans are latching on to one particular Easter egg in the footage — and it has nothing to do with either archer. Instead, the standout is some signage for a show that’s hit Broadway in the MCU: “Rogers: The Musical.”
The poster for the show pops up just a few seconds into the trailer, looking pretty similar to “Hamilton” levels of hype. Fans get a brief glimpse of the stage action later in the trailer, as an actor playing Steve Rogers performs a huge dance number, apparently surrounded by fictionalized versions of the other five original Avengers (the production is presumably acting out the Battle of New York at some point).
As a result, Marvel fans have a whole lot of ideas about what “Rogers: The Musical” might look like.

Ahead of the release of Netflix’s forthcoming Original Film The Midnight Sky, which releases on December 23rd, a new Film Club plan has been announced. This amazing initiative, is a partnership with WaveLength, the UK’s leading loneliness charity who provide those most in need with technology to facilitate and inspire meaningful connections with others.
What is so cool is that this was inspired by The Midnight Sky, which sees George Clooney direct and star as a solitary scientist in a post-apocalyptic world. The partnership will see Netflix donate tablet computers to support WaveLength’s important work and launch a new monthly Film Club, giving beneficiaries the opportunity to come together virtually in a relaxed and sociable environment and connect with others through the power of film.

Quentin Tarantino, a master of pastiche himself, said he enjoyed seeing an homage to his own work in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which is just one example of Tarantino and Marvel riffing on each other.
BBC Radio 1’s Ali Plumb asked Tarantino in a recent interview what he thought about the shoutout to his 1994 film “Pulp Fiction” in the 2014 Marvel Cinematic Universe installment.
Nick Fury’s gravestone features the opening line of Ezekiel 25:17 — “The path of the righteous man …” The bible verse, in its Tarantino-modified form, is delivered by Jules in “Pulp Fiction” as part of his pre-killing ritual in one of the movie’s most memorable scenes.
Jules and Nick Fury are both played by Samuel L. Jackson.
“Probably the first commentary I ever read was the Stan Lee ‘Soapbox’,” Tarantino said, referring to a column penned by the Marvel editor-in-chief that appeared in each comic...

It was the line that launched a thousand parodies. Oscar-winning director James Cameron recently reminisced about making his 1997 Oscar-winning movie Titanic and recalled star Leonardo DiCaprio's reaction to being asked to shout his character Jack's iconic line, "I'm the king of the world!" The line, which he screams from the bow of the ship, is not in the film's script and for years, it was believed that the actor adlibbed it on his own. "It was made up on the spot," Cameron, who was also Titanic's screenwriter, confirmed to BBC Radio 1's Ali Plumb in an interview released this week. "I was in a crane basket, and we were losing...

Between helping to birth goats, terrorizing Tilda Swinton and cosplaying as a female Toad from the Super Mario games, Ezra Miller has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most fascinating fashion icons and movie stars.
His latest outfit, which he wore on the red carpet to the premiere of “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” in Paris Thursday, basically said, “I see you Lady Gaga and Bjork, and I raise you this.”
Is it an alien larvae? Is it a chic, goth, “sassy sleeping bag?” Some kind of flotation device? Did the Michelin Man design it?

If you don't think Chris Pine is the best Hollywood Chris, then hopefully this truly delightful video featuring the Outlaw King actor discussing his much-buzzed-about nude scene in the upcoming historical drama will convince you. If it doesn't, I reserve the right to classify you as a sociopath from this point on. But I digress!
While sitting down with BBC Radio 1 film critic Ali Plumb for a discussion about the movies that "made" him - Star Trek, Wonder Woman, Just My Luck - the topic of Pine's brief, albeit very memorable, nude scene in the film inevitably came up. Apparently, Pine doesn't really understand the buzz his full-frontal appearance is generating, which will likely have the unintentional effect of making you fall even more in love with him, fair warning.

On the whole, James Bond fans were thrilled with Thursday morning’s announcement that “True Detective” Season 1 director Cary Joji Fukunaga will direct the still untitled 25th film in the franchise.

Fukunaga, whose feature credits include “Sin Nombre,” “Jane Eyre” and “Beasts of No Nation,” will be the first American director in the storied franchise’s decades-long history.
