Kimberly Mackin was born in the San Joaquin Valley of California. She is of East Slavic, Shawnee, German (mother) and Welsh, Scots-Irish (father) descent.
Kimberly started their professional tailoring career in Chicago, IL in 2007, alongside a performing arts career as a DJ, dancer, and singer. Mackin became a set tailor in Los Angeles, CA from 2012-2020 for film, video, and commercial. Notable clients included 'The Hollywood Reporter', 'Billboard', and 'Rolling Stone' Magazine. Kimberly also produced work under the moniker Man Kim in her Los Angeles based Atelier from 2012-2018.
There have been a few video appearances of Kimberly dancing in Foxygen's 'How Can You Really?', The Beach Boys 'That's Why God Made the Radio', and exclusive BTS footage of Paul McCartney's 'Early Days.'
