It starts in the 1800s. That’s when the first residential schools were opened across Canada as a means of “beating the Indian” out of Indigenous children. The front-facing narrative was always education, but the thousands of bodies found in unmarked graves and devastating psychological toll endured by survivors of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse prove otherwise. And while writer-director Marie Clements never shies away from showing that generational trauma as it pertains to Aline Spears and her extended family, she’s also unafraid to depict the callous sense of superiority that allowed such an abomination of policy to continue for almost 200 years. Look no further than Father Jacobs (Rémy Girard) regaling his guests with the particulars of his scientific experimentations using starvation for compliance.
Much like the television show Pachinko, Clements’ Bones of Crows fluidly travels through time to present Spears’ life in the most impactful way possible. We...

Unspeakable horrors may be coming to Greendale, but the romance is still alive. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina returns for its fourth and final installment this week, and as Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) and her friends are dealing with the arrival of the Eldritch terrors, they're also still dealing with matters of the heart. At the end of part three, Roz (Jaz Sinclair) and Harvey (Ross Lynch) were still going strong, as were Theo (Lachlan Watson) and Robin (Jonathan Whitesell). The biggest question is whether or not there's a chance for Sabrina and Nick (Gavin Leatherwood), also known as Nabrina, who have really had a hard time of things since he got back from Hell. Right now, it's not...

"Do I do the right thing and put myself in danger?" A24 has debuted the first trailer for an indie war drama titled The Kill Team, the narrative feature directorial debut of filmmaker Dan Krauss (who also directed the documentary 5B this year). This is based on the same events that inspired his own 2013 documentary also titled The Kill Team, about a young American soldier in Afghanistan is disturbed by his commanding officer's behavior and is faced with a moral dilemma. Described as "an urgent and explosive recounting of one of the darkest incidents in the not-so-distant history of American military exploits." Nat Wolff co-stars with Alexander Skarsgård, plus Adam Long, Jonathan Whitesell, Brian Marc, Osy Ikhile, Rob Morrow, Anna Francolini, and Oliver Ritchie. It's intriguing to see a film addressing the darker side of the American military, and how they often crossed the line in Afghanistan. This looks better than expected.

[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers from “The Twilight Zone” Season 1, Episode 6, “Six Degrees of Freedom.”]
Original “Twilight Zone” creator Rod Serling was so fascinated by the possibility of space and aliens that his very first space-adjacent episode aired two years before the first man even escaped Earth’s atmosphere. Now, Jordan Peele’s revival of the series carries on that storytelling tradition with the episode “Six Degrees of Freedom,” in which five astronauts blast off to colonize Mars.
DeWanda Wise, best known for starring in Spike Lee’s Netflix series “She’s Gotta Have It,” is a longtime fan of “Twilight Zone” and had even asked her agents specifically if she would be able to land the show. Her favorite episode is “To Serve Man,” the classic entry in which seemingly benevolent aliens land on Earth, improve the lives of humans, and then are revealed to actually eat the people they were helping.

“You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension—a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.” – Rod Serling
The Twilight Zone trailer has finally dropped, and I have to say that I am here for it. I loved Sci-fi shows like this growing up & reruns of The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Tales from the Darkside were shows I looked forward to watching. Now we get to step back into the zone and the man to take us there will be none other than Academy Award Winner, Jordan Peele.
Let’s take a glimpse at what is in store for us.:
Peele, will not only will be our Narrator, but will also be executive producer of the show.

And the award for the best Super Bowl ad will probably go to CBS All Access for the latest TV spot for the upcoming reboot of The Twilight Zone.
While many Spectrum customers were likely in a meltdown about the fact that the company had mass outages that prevented some viewers from watching CBS, it seemed like the network was about to be down for everybody.
That was thanks to the perfectly timed TV spot that made it look like CBS was melting down, and Jordan Peele suddenly appeared out of nowhere in a stadium that only has himself.
Jordan went on to talk about different dimensions, and how things can be changed at the drop of a hat.

“The Twilight Zone” fans got a first taste of what the series’ reboot under Jordan Peele will be like during the Super Bowl, when CBS’ telecast appeared to be glitch out, only for viewers to enter the Twilight Zone.
The spot begins with an outside view of the stadium as an announcer narrates, but the screen cuts to text that reads, “CBS is off the air.” Attendees blink out of existence as the screen switches to the interior of the stadium. A soda cup falls to the ground, then disappears.
“Witness an empty space,” intones Peele as the camera zooms in on his feet walking across the field, “filled with thousands of screaming people. A man, both no where and everywhere at the same time.”
“Answers are new questions,” he continues. “The unthinkable is the expected. When truth is not the truth, what dimension are you even in?” Peele asks...

With a riveting central performance by Shirley Henderson as a woman dealing with advanced Parkinson’s, you wouldn’t be blamed for thinking Kathleen Hepburn’s Never Steady, Never Still (adapted from her short of the same name) was simply about the tragedy of the disease. A different version of this story would probably go that route because it’s the “flashier” path towards recognition. The Vancouver native, however, decides to go further by delving beneath the surface by exposing the hardships and struggles of life itself. She divides her story in two so that Judy (Henderson) and her son Jamie (Théodore Pellerin) can receive equal focus. They’re both shown at a crossroads wherein there’s no choice but to dive headlong into an abyss of independence neither is certain can be conquered.

Beyond will not be coming back for a third season on Freeform.
According to Deadline, Freeform has canceled the sci-fi drama after just two seasons at the network.
Beyond followed Holden Matthews who learns he has supernatural abilities after waking up from a 12-year coma and is forced to confront a deadly conspiracy that may cost him his life.
The series starred Burkely Duffield, Dilan Gwyn, Jordan Calloway, Jonathan Whitesell and Michael McGrady.
Beyond was part of a new direction for Freeform when it debuted in January 2017. The network took the unprecedented decision of releasing all ten episodes of the first season online.

It apparently worked because the network noted that 14 million people tuned in to watch the show during its first week of being available.
As expected, the live ratings were not healthy as a result of this decision.

“Beyond” has been canceled at Freeform after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.

The series starred Burkely Duffield, Dilan Gwyn, Jordan Calloway, Jonathan Whitesell, Michael McGrady, Romy Rosemont, Jeff Pierre, and Eden Brolin.
The series hailed from Imperative Entertainment and Automatik. It was created, written and executive produced by Adam Nussdorf. Tim Kring, Zak Kadison, Justin Levy and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones served as executive producers.
The Season 2 finale of “Beyond” aired last week. The series struggled in the Nielsen Live+Same Day ratings during its second season, with a per episode average of just a 0.08 rating in adults 18-49 and 244,000 viewers per episode. That represents a drop off of nearly 50% in the key demo and over 50% in total viewers compared to the show’s first season.
