One of the most celebrated cinematic interpretations of Stephen King is the two-film adaptation of his seminal horror novel "It." Directed by Andy Muschietti, with the movies released in 2017 and 2019, "It" follows the twisted coming-of-age of a group of childhood friends in Derry, Maine. While the seven kids are harassed by neighborhood bully Henry Bowers (Nicholas Hamilton) and his gang of teenage ne'er-do-wells, a different kind of evil festers under Derry. Primarily appearing in the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgård), this otherworldly monster instills fear in its young victims before consuming them entirely.
Though the creature has haunted the region since ancient times, the first chapter takes place in the summer of 1989. That's when Pennywise surfaces to claim new victims around Derry while setting its sights on the main characters. Finding strength and solace in numbers, these friends refer to themselves share a bond under the banner...

The Max series Welcome to Derry, which will serve as a prequel to Warner Bros’ two-part adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel It (pick up a copy Here), is now in production, with It and It: Chapter Two director Andy Muschietti on board to direct multiple episodes of the show, including the first episode. To mark the start of production, Muschietti has shared an image from the set of Welcome to Derry, and you can check it out in the Instagram embed at the bottom of this article.
This image reveals that the show will be introducing us to a character named Clint Bowers, who is likely related to the Butch Bowers and Henry Bowers characters from the It movies.
Brad Caleb Kane (Tokyo Vice) and Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman), who was a co-producer on It: Chapter Two, are the showrunners on Welcome to Derry. The show...

Filming kicked off this month on the HBO Max series “Welcome to Derry,” an official prequel to the two Stephen King-based It movies from Andy Muschietti. Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Muschietti shared a first-look behind the scenes photo from the set.
The photo, which you’ll find below, shows us the office door of Derry’s Chief of Police Clint Bowers, a new member of the Bowers family we’ll be meeting in “Welcome to Derry.”
Henry Bowers was of course the leader of the Bowers Gang that tormented the Losers’ Club in Stephen King’s classic horror story, and we’ve also met Butch Bowers (Henry’s father) and Connor Bowers (Henry’s cousin) in Muschietti’s movie adaptations. Butch Bowers was a cop, so it makes sense that another family member was the Chief of Police some years prior.
But who exactly is Clint Bowers?...

"It" is one of Stephen King's most beloved novels. The horror story has terrified readers since it debuted in 1986. "It" features some of the most disturbing moments that King has ever created, and that's no small statement. While the story itself is horrifying, "It" explores the lasting impact of childhood trauma. The coming-of-age elements make "It" one of King's most heartfelt stories. Children and adults can feel inspired by seeing the Losers' Club overcome their fears.
Given the book's popularity, a film adaptation was nearly guaranteed. "It" was first adapted as a two-part miniseries in 1990, starring Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown. The first episode showed the youthful adventures of the Losers' Club, and the second episode flashed forward to their time as adults. While there is a lot of nostalgia for the 1990 "It," the miniseries doesn't quite capture all the nuances that made the novel so beloved.

Just like Pennywise, spoilers for It Chapter Two are lurking ahead.
It should come as no surprise to anyone who saw 2017's It that Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgard) has an uncanny ability to reach down into his victims' psyches and pluck out what they're most insecure about, using it to lure them into his very large, very sharp jaw. In the horror film's new sequel It Chapter Two, we see the evil sewer dweller do this to all the now-adult members of the Losers Club. But it's the very specific, borderline ambiguous way that he taunts Richie Tozier (Bill Hader) about a certain "secret" that might have surprised both readers of the book and Stephen King newbies alike.
Set 27 years after the events featured in the first film, the sequel picks up with the preteens now that they're well into adulthood. Richie is an up-and-coming stand-up comedian,...

The entire Losers’ Club combine for new It: Chapter Two set pics, which officially signal the start of production. For real this time.
New Line’s horror sequel has been teetering on the verge of its shoot now for what feels like months, as the Powers That Be began cobbling together their adult Losers. Not that we can say it hasn’t been worth the wait, mind you, given Chapter Two has cast such big-name A-listers as Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader and James McAvoy, who’s about to play the adult Bill Denbrough – stammer and all.
McAvoy has been pretty vocal about his involvement, too, and even let slip that It: Chapter Two was to commence principal photography a full seven days ahead of schedule. But it seems the cameras are officially rolling on what is undoubtedly one of 2019’s biggest movies, and below you’ll find the latest update...

From Ripley to Rainier, Selene to Strode, the horror genre hasn’t been left wanting for strong and compelling female characters, and that’s something that Jessica Chastain stands by even to this day.
The two-time Oscar nominee recently climbed aboard It: Chapter Two to play adult Bev (check out her retro-inspired hairdo), and booking her ticket to Derry, Maine was an easy decision for Chastain to make, given it heralds a reunion with Mama director Andy Muschietti.
But on a more general note, Chastain maintains that when it comes to nuanced female leads, the horror genre is practically in a league of its own. So whereas summer blockbusters typically have a soft spot for buff male protagonists, cult classics like Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street often shift the focus over to horror’s leading ladies. This is the genre in which Scream Queen and Final Girls made their name,...

Once 2017’s glimpse into the humble lives of Derry’s residents proved to be a box office juggernaut, it only made sense that studios scramble to get the next adaptation of a story penned by Stephen King up on the big screen, chief among which will be It: Chapter Two. After all, it’s more than understandable that Pennywise continue leading the way as the horror keeps flowing.
And with production on the highly anticipated sequel commencing shortly (recent reports stating filming has already begun were apparently erroneous), key pieces of the puzzle are already falling into place, what with Andy Muschietti returning to direct, the kids from the first flick coming back in some capacity, along with the likes of Isaiah Mustafa, Andy Bean, Jay Ryan and James Ransone having signed up to play some of their adult counterparts.
Of course, more than just the Losers’ Club will be making up the followup.

Director Andy Muschietti has cast Teach Grant in the role of an older Henry Bowers in It: Chapter 2. The young version of the character, who was the main psychopathic bully who targeted the Losers Club, was played by Nicholas Hamilton in the first film. Joining Grant is Jess Weixler, who will play Bill's wife in the sequel.
At the end of the first film, Bowers fell down that dark well that led to Pennywise's lair. In Stephen King's story, he survives and is ultimately framed by Pennywise and convicted for most of the murders that occurred throughout the summer in Derry.
He is committed to the Juniper Hill Asylum until he escapes years later with the help of Pennywise, who come to him in the form of his dead friend so that he can attack the Losers Club who have reunited in Derry to battle Pennywise for the last time.

The big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s epic novel It hit theatres last fall, and it was everything we hoped it would be.
If you haven’t read the book or seen the ‘90s miniseries, the story follows a group of children who find themselves terrorized by an evil being that takes the form of their greatest fears. In It's clown form, It is called Pennywise, but It takes on many other terrifying guises throughout the film.
The cast is mostly comprised of newcomers, but their talent shines through and makes the film completely unforgettable. Now that this modern horror classic is available to rent or buy, we’ve put together a list of 5 reasons why you should see It for yourself , and hop right on Stephen King’s scary clown train.

“Like lambs to a slaughter – wouldn’t you say, fellas?”
Even before the advent of Pennywise, Henry Bowers was always viewed as the demented, twisted bully of Derry. But it turns out Andy and Barbara Muschietti initially had another, extended arc in mind for Nicholas Hamilton’s mullet-wearing jock. And it’s much, much darker.
Included as part of the It Blu-ray, which will become available to all on January 9th, this disturbing deleted scene actually takes place outside the famous Neibolt house, as we see the Losers’ Club gear up for their final confrontation with Pennywise. Had things turned out differently, though, the audience would have caught a glimpse of Henry Bowers slipping into insanity, as Hamilton’s bully sparks up a conversation with his bloodied friends.
