The body of Ben Grimes lays lifeless on the ground. Squatting next to him is his Army Ranger brother and close friend, Eric Carter. Eric is holding some of Ben’s belongings: a picture of all the members of their unit and Ben’s dog tags. Eric is pained by he loss of his friend, his brother in arms. He places the picture back in its plastic bag, but keeps Ben’s dog tags for himself.
It wouldn't be 24 without some personal pain for the main character.
With Gabriel out of the picture, CTU can only depend upon the information from his laptop in order to find Bin Khalid’s terrorist cells. As extreme as Eric’s idea was, it all pays off. The CTU Response Team is able to uncover files from the laptop that reveal the aliases of the terrorists, including Jadalla Bin-Khalid, and their current location.

Cunning move. Very cunning move.
While we've gotten used to Gerald McRaney sweet talking us over on This Is Us, we were reminded of his other side on 24: Legacy Season 1 Episode 3.
That side, as a father willing to go to the ends of the earth for his son, shouldn't have been all that difficult to figure out, considering he recently played a very similar role on Longmire and his on-air son is even co-starring on 24: Legacy!
That's the nature of a good actor, though. They can lull you into a sense of comfort or squeeze you into a sense of discomfort, whatever the case may be. If McRaney wasn't doing his job well, I might have suspected him from the start.
Luis: My guy was able to hack the Atm camera, change the time stamp. Rebecca's already pulled the footage. And she has a record that Nilaa was...

This week on Fox’s 24: Legacy, Carter literally banged down walls in order to get his hands on the flash drive, while viewers learned exactly who was behind the leak that put the Army Rangers in harm’s way.

24: Legacy wasted no time at all in picking the action back up from the premier episode. Having lost track of Ben Grimes, Eric works with Ingram and a CTU hacker in order to try and get a fresh trace on him. Meanwhile Ingram is trying to figure out who the traitor is and asks current CTU director Keith Mullins (Teddy Sears) for his access codes. Mullins somewhat reluctantly agrees to provide them. There appears to be two plots running alongside each other here. One at a school, which involves Amira Dubayev (Katherine Prescott) and a school teacher. They seem...read more...

24 Legacy touched down on Fox last night — with a relentless hour of computer surveillance and balls-out gun fights. The series, a spin-off of the original 24 starring Kiefer Sutherland, centres on former army ranger Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins), who finds himself on the run when a terrorist cell murders most of his former team. Eric is forced to contact Rebecca Ingram (Miranda Otto), who is the former national head of the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). With Ingram’s help Eric tracks down Ben Grimes (Charlie Hofheimer) the only other survivor from his special forces team. As the story quickly unfolds we...read more...

Full Disclosure: I never watched the original 24. Not because I wasn't interested, or because I was turned off by what little I did see. It just happened to premiere during a period of time in the 00s when I really wasn't much of a TV watcher. That said, I'm familiar with the show's conventions, and I did end up becoming a fan of the show's cousin, Homeland, on Showtime. So I walked into this Pilot episode for 24: Legacy with no real expectations or baggage from the Kiefer Sutherland iteration of the series.
It was pretty great.
The episode doesn't waste any time setting things up, but rather it starts things off at a full sprint. Within about 90 seconds we see a home being raided, a man being interrogated- and executed- by mysterious baddies, and our first glimpse of the show's protagonist. The machinations of the show's plot become clear right away,...
