- Gerik Leron Gooch is passionate about filmmaking and the arts. Born on June 24, 1978, in Wilmington, Delaware, he became a leader in both vocal and instrumental music at school. As an actor, he received standing ovations for his performances on stage in several plays, including Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, Into the Woods, and Rebel Without a Cause. His voice acting was featured prominently in a regional radio commercial for DART (Delaware Authority for Regional Transit) and he also appeared as a print model for Blue Cross Blue Shield. He always enjoyed movies and began making his own video projects for classes at Concord High School, shooting on the analog video formats of the time and editing in camera. But it wasn't until the advent of digital video that he would truly become a cinephile. He began researching cinema, learning about the great directors & films of the past and present, while building a large DVD collection for his home theater. Seeing the wealth of behind-the-scenes material available on DVD, he was inspired to learn even more and become a part of the industry he had come to admire. He decided to formally study Filmmaking at University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he went on to direct the award-winning short films Fragile (2011), Model Airplane (2011), and Trustworthy (2013). His continuing desire is to creatively tell stories in a variety of forms and genres.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anonymous
