Música is a “non-musical musical” coming-of-age romantic comedy film co-written and directed by Rudy Mancuso. Based on his personal experiences, the Prime Video film follows the story of a young college student Rudy, who is about to graduate but still doesn’t if he should get a stable job or go after his dream of becoming a puppeteer. He finds himself stuck in a love triangle between his long-time girlfriend who doesn’t understand him and his dreams and a girl he recently met who seems to support his dreams, while also dealing with his overbearing mother who wants him to get himself a Brazilian girlfriend. Música stars Mancuso in the lead role with Camila Mendes, Francesca Reale, J.B. Smoove, and Maria Mancuso starring in supporting roles. So, if you loved the charming story and music of Música, here are some similar films you should check out next.

Another Max show has been cancelled, but it wasn't the streaming service's idea this time. The Flight Attendant won't be returning for a third season because executive producer and star Kaley Cuoco feels two seasons is enough.

The Flight Attendant will not be returning for a third season. The show, which was originally set as a limited series, aired two seasons on Max, with the second season ending in May 2022.
The move follows comments from star and executive producer Kaley Cuoco after the second season that the “plane had landed.” “I just kind of feel like we just ended,” she told People at the time.
The first season, which premiered in November 2020, followed Cuoco’s alcoholic, globe-trotting flight attendant Cassie Bowden who became embroiled in an espionage plot following her affair with a first class passenger, who winds up murdered after their night together.
The second season saw Bowden return with a fresh start in Los Angeles, sober and moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue.

After premiering on Fandor last fall, the SXSW genre-bender Jethica is now streaming on the Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox!
Variety hailed Jethica as an “ingenious, deadpan horror-satire that asks, ‘Can you ghost a ghost?’”
Now that the movie has been available to stream for a few weeks, we’re sharing this hilarious Spoilery trailer that counts off how many times a character says “Jethica” in Jethica.
In this future cult classic, Jessica lives in fear of a man named Kevin who follows her everywhere she goes. While on a road trip in New Mexico, she reconnects with Elena—an old friend she hasn’t seen since high school—who has been hiding out at her deceased grandmother’s ranch. When Kevin mysteriously appears again, Jessica and Elena seek help from beyond the grave to get rid of him for good… but Kevin is different from other stalkers and won’t move on so easily.

A new episode of The Arrow in the Head Show has just been released, and in this one hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are looking back at what may be the least popular entry in the Alien franchise – and if that’s the case, it’s an accomplishment that it passed some of the lesser entries on the race to the bottom. The movie in question is 2017’s Alien: Covenant (watch it Here) – and to find out what The Arrow and Lance think of it, check out the video embedded above!
Directed by Ridley Scott from a screenplay by John Logan and Dante Harper (and a story by Jack Paglen and Michael Green), Alien: Covenant has the following synopsis: Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. A woman on the run after being forced to contend with a stalker. An old friend with a spooky secret living in a trailer in the middle of the New Mexico desert. Isolation and ghosts and the importance of friendship – all filtered through a narrator whom we may or may not be able to trust. Jethica is an unusual little genre film which made a big impact at festivals before going on general release, and it’s even more interesting when one digs into the story behind it. Director Pete Ohs and stars Andy Faulkner, Ashley Denise Robinson, Callie Hernandez and Will Madden , all of whom wrote, explained how the project was co-created on the spot from nothing but a location and a handful of shared ideas.
“It started with me and Andy,” says Pete. “We had made a couple films prior, and were talking about making another movie.

Elena (Callie Hernandez) is posed like a documentary interview subject as she smokes a cigarette in the back of the car, whilst the guy she just fucked asks questions in an effort to get to know her. He hopes that it will be the start of a relationship. She seems to be trying to put him off, or perhaps just to test him, as she tells him a story about an encounter she had with former high school classmate Jessica (Ashley Denise Robinson). At the end of the film we will get a glimpse of Jessica, too, and the contrast between them in the wake of their shared experience is telling.
They meet – in Elena’s recollection, which forms the bulk of the film – at a petrol station in New Mexico, far from their shared point of origin in California. Elena is staying in her grandmother’s old trailer in the.

A largely improvised script gives this low-budget feature spontaneity, as it deftly moves from creepy to comic by way of the supernatural
This low-budget comedy-horror feature gives most of its cast “screenplay by” credit, so it’s quite likely they sort of made it up as they went along, or at least substantially improvised a pre-agreed story. Nothing wrong with that, especially since that spontaneity is really felt in the performances, particularly from Will Madden as a manic stalker with a slight lisp named Kevin who won’t shut up. Disgorging an unceasing, frenzied torrent of verbiage, Kevin has followed Jessica (Ashley Denise Robinson) from Los Angeles to New Mexico where she grew up. The title is a not especially amusing reference to Kevin’s speech issue; he stands outside her window calling for her at all hours, ranting about his feelings for her, emitting passive-aggressive fumes of toxicity that grow increasingly more aggressive-aggressive.

[Spoilers for “Shotgun Wedding,” now streaming on Prime Video, below.]
Well, who else didn’t see that twist ending coming? With the explosive climax of “Shotgun Wedding,” it seems like D’Arcy Carden just cemented herself as a stunt work pro and bonafide action star.
The Prime Video film stars Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel as a couple whose wedding party is held hostage by Balinese pirates. Turns out, it was J.Lo’s ex (played by Lenny Kravitz) who hired the criminals to ruin her big day and get a massive payout. Carden plays J.Lo’s dad’s (Cheech Marin) girlfriend who is two-timing him with Kravitz and part of the fraud scheme.
“It’s been really fun to be able to tell friends and family I’m playing Cheech’s girlfriend but I’m having an affair with Lenny Kravitz. They’re like, ‘What?!'” Carden exclusively told IndieWire. “Oh,...

Jennifer Lopez has been married a few times, both in life and in the movies — most recently twice last year with her real life wedding(s) to Ben Affleck, and on screen in her delightful Valentine’s Day-timed comedy Marry Me. Both made me happy for her, but her latest, Shotgun Wedding, is something altogether different, a frenetic action comedy that never puts on the brakes. It is a wild ride no doubt, but it isn’t the kind of wedding to which I need to be invited any time soon.
So the plot is pretty predictable, especially if you have seen a whole range of movies from Romancing the Stone to last spring’s The Lost City, manic films that pair a male and female star caught in treacherous circumstances and lets them argue and snap at each other for the better part of two hours as they face...

Jennifer Lopez has long been on record as a lifelong romantic, and in the last year — with weddings both on and offscreen — she’s proven it. But sometimes, it’s ok to say “I don’t.”
“Shotgun Wedding” was proposed so long ago that Lopez has been matched with three different partners: Her first costar was Ryan Reynolds, who dropped out and now remains solely as an executive producer. He was replaced by Armie Hammer, whose personal controversies soon sent him in an entirely different direction. Somehow Josh Duhamel caught the bouquet, leaving him with the thankless role of Tom, a “groomzilla” who pays more attention to his pineapple centerpieces than to his fed-up fiancée, Darcy (Lopez).
There is no need for any screenwriter to rehash lazy wedzilla tropes ever again, regardless of gender. But Tom’s stress is at least a little understandable, with two demanding families sharing space...

Should you ever find yourself needing to kill time on a long journey — say, to a friend’s ill-advised nuptials in some distant tropical locale — you could probably do worse than Shotgun Wedding. It is, in a lot of ways, the quintessential plane movie: not bad enough to be offensive, neither good enough to demand your full attention nor complicated enough to require it, and better than having nothing to watch at all.
Here on the ground, though, where the options for theatrical and streaming content are nigh infinite, it’s a much harder sell. Directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect), Shotgun Wedding amounts to an action romantic comedy in which the action is uninspired, the romance tepid and the comedy flat — such that not even rom-com queen Jennifer Lopez can elevate it above aggressive mediocrity.

Shotgun Wedding, the new Prime Video romantic comedy, is not just another bland rom-com. Before you call out the fact that the leads are Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel, two actors well known for their work in various romantic comedies, this movie is different. Rated R for profanity and lots of violence, Shotgun Wedding tells the familiar elements of a rom-com but wrapped up in an explosive action movie full of pirates, helicopters, explosions, and chases. Set in the beautiful Phillippines, this movie does not play by the formula you expect.

Shudder and IFC Midnight are launching microbudget Skinamarink on a not-so-micro 629 screens, giving the viral horror pic a major push after a well-received premiere back at Fantasia-fest that just kept snowballing with strong reviews and social media love.
“I was over the moon. For a horror filmmaker in Canada, [Fantasia] is like getting a Cannes screening,” says first-time filmmaker Kyle Edward Ball about the leadup to this weekend’s buzzy specialty opening. He shot the 15k feature at his parents’ home in Edmonton, Canada.
In it, two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished. “I’d had a nightmare when I was little. I was in my parents’ house, my parents were missing, and there was a monster. And lots of people have shared this exact same dream,” Ball tells Deadline.

I was in my parents’ house, my parents were missing, and there was a monster. And lots of people have shared this exact same dream,” Ball tells Deadline.

Prime Video’s romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding features two actors very familiar with the genre, although this rom-com appears to be much more action-oriented than lovey-dovey. Do people still say lovey-dovey? Anyhow, the latest trailer shows the chaos that erupts after Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel’s wedding is interrupted by armed intruders.
The cast also includes Jennifer Coolidge (who just won a Golden Globe for her performance in The White Lotus), Sonia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, and D’Arcy Carden. Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, Alberto Isaac, and Lenny Kravitz also join Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel for some rom-com action-thriller fun.
Jason Moore directed from a screenplay by Mark Hammer. Lopez, Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman, Alexander Young, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina produced.

Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel are finally walking down the aisle. The actors are appearing alongside each other in the upcoming rom-com "Shotgun Wedding," which has long been in the works. Prime Video released the second trailer for the film on Jan. 11, and it shines a spotlight on the movie's supporting cast, especially Jennifer Coolidge as Duhamel's character's hilarious mom.
The film, written by Mark Hammer, will hit Prime Video on Jan. 27 and follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Duhamel), whose families are taken hostage at their destination wedding. According to a description from Prime Video, the R-rated comedy is a "hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones - if they don't kill each other first."
The first trailer for the movie dropped on Oct. 4 and delivered all the promised laughs and hijinks, plus fans' first look at Coolidge, who's rocking some heavy-duty weaponry of her own.

At the risk of hyperbole, I'm tempted to proclaim to all the masses that we're living in a golden age of trailers that tease one (relatively) normal movie premise and then take a complete 90-degree swerve into something else entirely. We just saw that unfold in real-time with the hilariously-named "Plane," the latest Gerard Butler actioner that unleashed one of the most entertaining title reveals we've received in quite some time. Oh, and should you be tempted to think that this trend is only able to be enjoyed ironically, take it from /Film's Ryan Scott that "Plane" does, in fact, deliver the goods.

"Here's the plan…" We're all going to avoid this movie. Amazon's Prime Video has revealed a third trailer for the comedy Shotgun Wedding, a ridiculous, wild adventure comedy dumped by studios for a streaming release in January. Here's the unexciting pitch: A couple's extravagant destination wedding is hijacked by criminals. In the process of saving their families, they rediscover why they fell in love in the first place. Aw. Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel star, with Jennifer Coolidge, D'Arcy Carden, Melissa Hunter, Callie Hernandez, Cheech Marin, Sônia Braga, Steve Coulter, and Lenny Kravitz as her ex Sean. This trailer is all about Jennifer Coolidge, because she just won a Golden Globe award and they're hoping that attention will make people want to watch this movie, too. I hope not. The more they show from this, the worse it looks - but it's up to you to give it a look.

The SXSW genre-bender Jethica is gearing up to haunt select theaters Friday, January 13, starting with a run in L.A. at the Lumiere Music Hall. It will then premiere on Cinedigm’s indie discovery platform Fandor on Tuesday, February 14, followed by an exclusive window on Cinedigm’s horror streaming service Screambox.

Here's the unexciting pitch: A couple's extravagant destination wedding is hijacked by criminals. In the process of saving their families, they rediscover why they fell in love in the first place. Our Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series often covers older films. You may have noticed that we have a particular fondness for movies from the 1980s. But occasionally we cover more recent releases as well, and the movie we’re looking at with today’s episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? was just released six years ago. The film in question is Blair Witch (watch it Here), and you can find out all about it by watching the video embedded above.
Directed by Adam Wingard from a screenplay written by Simon Barrett, Blair Witch is, of course, a follow-up to The Blair Witch Project. This one has the following synopsis:
A young man and his friends venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mystery surrounding his missing sister. Many believe her disappearance 17 years earlier is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch.

Today Prime Video has released a new trailer for the upcoming Jennifer Lopez film "Shotgun Wedding." Yes, JLo is in a wedding dress yet again, as she was in the recent movie "Marry Me," as well as her real-life wedding to Ben Affleck. Lopez plays a woman named Darcy engaged to Josh Duhamel's Tom, dealing with his mother, played by Jennifer Coolidge. You can practically hear the jokes in your head, can't you? A woman dealing with a nosy and bossy future mother-in-law, having wedding jitters, and from the title, maybe pregnant? It all sounds like the usual fare for a film about impending nuptials, right?
It is not, as you may have guessed from the title of this article. I don't want to spoil anything for you, but this trailer takes an unexpected turn a little under a minute in. Things are not as they seem. You think...

Jennifer Lopez has been on a huge marriage kick lately. This past year saw the release of Marry Me, a romantic comedy where she plays a pop star who marries a regular joe, played by Owen Wilson. Nothing can go wrong on Jennifer Lopez’s big day… right?
Wrong. The “Marry Me” actress and international pop star leads Prime Video’s upcoming romantic comedy, “Shotgun Wedding,” about a bride (Lopez) and groom (Josh Duhamel) whose nuptials lead to a horrific hostage situation, and not just because of the bad buffet. The action rom-com also stars Jennifer Coolidge as Lopez’s monster-in-law who wields a massive gun and yells “nobody fucks with my family” in the trailer.
The ever-smooth Lenny Kravitz is Lopez’s onscreen ex, but it’s the international pirates who really throw a wrench into the ceremony. D’Arcy Carden, Sônia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, and Alberto Isaac round out the ensemble cast.

Jennifer Lopez straddles the action and romantic comedy genres in her next film “Shotgun Wedding,” and the first trailer promises a laugh-filled, high-octane affair. Kind of like “Die Hard” at a wedding.
Lopez and Josh Duhamel star as a couple who gather their family and friends for the ultimate destination wedding, but just as the two start to get cold feet, the wedding is crashed by Lopez’s ex (played by Lenny Kravitz) and the entire wedding party is taken hostage.
