- Formed in 1985, originally they weren't an all female hard rock- punk band. With guitarists & vocalists Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner, they were joined in 1987 by bassist & vocalist Jennifer Finch and drummer Roy Koutsky. Only when Koutsky was replaced by drummer & vocalist Demetra Plakas in 1988, they became an all female band, and one of the most well known and influential worldwide. Finch left in 1996 and was succeeded by Greta Brinkman, then by Gail Greenwood (also vocalist) (1996-1999), and finally by Janis Tanaka (1999-2001). They reunited with their "classic line-up" in 2014 to date (2023).
