X-Men ’97 was able to achieve one more thing that live-action Marvel failed to do, First, of course, was making Cyclops as a character cool again. Second, was the fact that the animated offering from Marvel Studios’ new wing, Marvel Animation, was able to do Avengers: Age of Ultron right.

According to YouTuber DoomBlazer, who has been a credible voice for the community, the plots of the first season of X-Men ’97 and Avengers: Age of Ultron are not that different from each other. Both properties deal with the issue of artificial intelligence one way or the other, but that is not where the similarities of the stories end.

In the first issue of Marvel Comics' latest event series, Blood Hunt, superhumans with a connection to the Darkforce Dimension simultaneously lost control of their powers.
The eruption blacked out the sun, creating an eternal night which allowed vampires everywhere to launch a coordinated attack against humanity. Earth's Mightiest Heroes did their best to protect the innocent and control the chaos, only for The Avengers to be tricked into allowing the Bloodcoven, a group of super-powered vampires, into their headquarters.

Yesterday, Marvel announced that advanced ticket sales had started for Deadpool & Wolverine. With that came a short new clip for the movie. Hidden within said footage was supposedly a Qr code that took you to Ryan Reynolds’ YouTube channel.
The 38-second video from the film’s star was, in fact, a disclaimer regarding the content of the new Disney movie. Reynolds holds no punches regarding what you should expect from Deadpool & Wolverine.
In case the video goes dark, we’ve put a transcript of the “disclaimer” below.
“Many of you are very excited, but we should set the table correctly. This film is as paper thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth. Putting any game under the nose of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games for comparison wouldn’t be fair. But some of them, including Fortnite and Marvel Rivals did a better job of portraying the web-slinger in contrast to others according to some fans. The latter game is still in development, but players are considering it the Overwatch 2 killer.
Spider-Man has been a pivotal superhero in the Marvel universe, and his depiction does have a profound effect on fans. They are already mourning the loss of The Great Web, which would’ve been the best Spider-Man game to date, and might expect to see Rivals make up for the loss, although not in full.

The MCU is awaiting a breath of fresh air with its upcoming slate of films: starting with Deadpool & Wolverine. With universe hopping already a thing, fan theories keep popping up, each with varying degrees of possibility. One of them explores the plotline of Pedro Pascal’s Fantastic Four.

Starring Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, the movie is set to introduce Marvel’s first family into the MCU. However, that’s not the only thing that will debut in the Marvel movie. Fantastic Four is also on the way to bring Galactus, one of the strongest beings from Marvel comics, as the big bad in the MCU.
However, with every big villain, especially of celestial proportions, there comes a question: where were they before, and why didn’t they fight The Avengers?

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is highly anticipated in the MCU lineup. Like many other projects, its development resumed after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended. There were expectations of delays, with ‘Captain America 4’ initially swapping dates with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ However, it’s now set for release on February 15, 2025, after being delayed almost a year.
Details about the plot and villains remain scarce, but leaks, surprisingly from McDonald’s, have provided some insight.
A few months back, a McDonald’s Happy Meal toy accidentally spilled the beans that the main villain in the upcoming release will be Red Hulk. For fans familiar with Harrison Ford’s character, General Thunderbolt Ross, this revelation may not be surprising. His transformation into Red Hulk seemed inevitable.
Red Hulk has been one of Hulk’s most notable adversaries, and now, in the upcoming release, he’s set to clash with the newly minted Captain America.

More than a year ago, Phase 5 kicked off with ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.’ The concept of the Multiversal Saga was highly exciting for the fans, especially with the prospect of Kang the Conqueror being introduced in the movie, as a new main villain for the next several phases.
The movie however fell flat both in commercial and critical sense. It received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. While some praised Jonathan Majors’ portrayal of Kang as a thrilling villain, others criticized the film for lacking the spark and fun of its predecessors.
Now 14 months after the release Kathryn Newton, who plays Cassie Lang aka Stature, described the movie as the easiest job of her life during an interview with CinePOP. When asked about the comparison between working on the horror film ‘Abigail’ and the third Ant-Man installment, Newton shared her thoughts:

Wanda’s journey in the MCU has been complex. She began as a villain, transitioned into a hero, faced tragedy, experienced loss, briefly returned to villainy, and then reclaimed a heroic mantle by destroying the Darkhold and seemingly sacrificing herself.
The conclusion of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ left her fate uncertain. Official statements haven’t clarified whether Wanda is still alive within the MCU.
Many fans, myself included, think that mere collapsing debris wouldn’t pose a significant threat to a Nexus being with such vast Multiversal potential. After all, we’ve seen Wanda endure far worse, so her return seems likely. Lately, there have been rumors suggesting she might get her own standalone movie. Even if that doesn’t materialize, there are several projects where her return would make perfect sense.

There are too many Marvel Comics out there to read them all — and I'm talking about both the current ongoing series, and the 85 years of accumulated material. The publisher is aware of this, so what's its solution to hook new readers?
In 2000, Marvel launched "Ultimate Marvel," a new series of comics set in a separate continuity from the original "Earth-616" comics. The Ultimate Marvel comics followed the classic heroes, from Spider-Man to the Avengers (renamed the Ultimates), getting their powers in a more contemporary-styled setting. These were comics written not to appeal to long-time, continuity-obsessed fans, but to hook the new generation of nerds obsessing over "Buffy" and "The X-Files." That reverberated back and Ultimate Marvel became the primary influence on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After highs and lows, Ultimate Marvel ended in 2015. In 2024, it returned ... sort of. Rather than a continuation of the old Ultimate Universe, Marvel has just...

Although the Avengers hold the spotlight as the MCU’s primary superhero team, they’re not alone. Alongside them, we have the Eternals, Guardians of the Galaxy, and upcoming projects are going to introduce teams like Thunderbolts, Young Avengers, and the X-Men. Marvel Comics boasts numerous other superhero teams, sparking curiosity among fans about potential expansions to lesser-known teams, notably Alpha Flight.
However, according to Alex Perez, a trusted source for MCU rumors and leaks, Marvel Studios is considering two different comic book teams for incorporation, with Alpha Flight not among them, unfortunately.
There have been discussions about MI13 being developed, as well as Agents of Atlas.

In 2016, I attended a conversation between filmmaker Joss Whedon and actor Mark Ruffalo, who Whedon recruited to star in "The Avengers" as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Hosted by the Tribeca Film Festival, this was the same one where Whedon said "Avengers: Age of Ultron" made him feel like "a miserable failure."
During the talk, Whedon confessed how he feels that he lacks the eye of a great director. This moment of vulnerability by Whedon stuck out to me because it echoed criticism of his work I'd absorbed online as a budding cinephile. These critics would argue that Whedon's directing never matured past middling TV-level craft, as seen on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer." At the time, I was one of the Whedon faithful and stubbornly refused to see it, but my mind has been cleared now.

Sure, upon examining the physical attributes, fans may discover that the answer to this question is not as simple as they initially believed. There are other abilities besides brute force, magic, and energy blasts that can provide a hero with an edge during battle.
Having said that, Scott Lang, a.k.a. Ant-Man in the MCU, is a superhero who, with the use of Pym Particles, can shrink to the size of an ant while retaining his normal strength and durability. This means that he can outmaneuver his rivals and deliver punches with the force of a full-sized man. Not to mention, his ability to change size gives him an extra edge in battle.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is as huge as it can get with countless superheroes and superhero teams and the many iterations of them in the comics as well as on the big screen. Yet the Avengers have remained the top-tier team in both formats, closely followed by the band of space misfits, the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers
Both teams have often found themselves pitted against each other in one or the other fan discussions. Although there have been a few instances where both teams went head to head, there hasn’t been a clear winner. Yet James Gunn, writer-director of the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, reckons that the Guardians would be a clear winner in such a fight.

Vanessa Kirby is the actress who will be portraying the role of Sue Storm in the upcoming reboot of the movie Fantastic Four. Sharing the screen alongside Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Kirby would be perfect for the character.
Jack Kirby was the co-creator of the Fantastic Four team in the Marvel Comics and some people cannot help but wonder: Are they related? Sharing the same last name, it would be poetic for Vanessa Kirby to portray the iconic role created by Jack Kirby.
Hobbs & Shaw star Vanessa Kirby is cast as Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four
Are Vanessa And Jack Kirby Related?
Well, the short answer is… no. Vanessa Kirby and Jack Kirby are not related, at least biologically. Jack Kirby was one of the primary artists who worked alongside Stan Lee to create several iconic characters that we know and love today.

The second season of What If? has been dropped by Marvel Studios in a year that has seen both the rise and fall of the MCU. The final Guardians of the Galaxy and the second season of Loki were absolute triumphs, while the rest was pretty much a let down. I’m not even going to go into the Jonathan Major fiasco, but that must have hurt the MCU, and the future of this thing doesn’t look too bright. Considering all these, it was essential for Marvel to wrap up this year strong, and the good news is that What If? has been quite successful in doing that. With the anthology format, it was a given that some of the episodes would not be that good, while others might just be extraordinary. And that’s exactly how it went. We’re going to rank the new batch of episodes...

The MCU’s performance in 2023 fell short of expectations, marked by a string of releases, where only ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ and ‘Loki’ Season 2 achieved success. Other projects faced setbacks, with ‘Secret Invasion’ emerging as one of the least well-received MCU shows to date. ‘The Marvels’ claimed undesirable records such as the lowest domestic box office and the sharpest second-weekend drop in revenue.
Despite these challenges, the MCU perseveres. Bob Iger emphasized the importance of prioritizing quality over quantity for Marvel. Surprisingly, despite numerous project announcements in recent months, the slated releases for 2024 include just one movie and five shows.

No matter how much of a flop ‘The Marvels’ turned out to be, it did Ms. Marvel a solid by solidifying her status as a serious superhero in the larger MCU. It also paved the way for a new venture, ‘The Young Avengers,’ featuring a group of super-powered youngsters, with Kamala Khan undoubtedly playing a crucial role.
Following Monica’s sacrifice and journey into a different universe, Kamala is seen en route to enlist Kate Bishop. Along the way, she mentions Ant-Man’s daughter, Cassie, who now goes by the alias Stature.

After the resolution of the historic SAG-AFTRA strike, numerous projects faced potential cancellations or indefinite delays, and the MCU experienced its share of setbacks. Rumors circulated about the possible cancellation of several projects among the 30-plus Marvel-based character developments in progress, spanning both the MCU and Ssu (Sony’s Spider-Man Universe). However, only a fraction of these projects have confirmed release dates.
Among the MCU ventures affected was WandaVision, originally anticipated to spawn various spinoffs. ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ is the closest to fruition, set to premiere in September next year. Another project, Vision Quest, focusing on White Vision, is rumored to be a limited series alongside Wonder Woman.
Interestingly, there’s an additional project not officially confirmed— a series centered around Wiccan, Scarlet Witch’s teenage son inheriting her magical powers and a member of the Young Avengers. Following the resolution of the historical SAG-AFTRA strike, many projects faced the chopping block or were put on hold infinitely. MCU wasn’t spared from delays and complications, and several projects were rumored to be all but canceled. More than 30 projects revolving around Marvel-based characters are in development both when it comes to MCU and Ssu (Sony’s Spider-Man Universe), but only a fraction of them have confirmed release dates.
One MCU project that was supposed to lead to plenty of spinoffs was WandaVision. ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ is the closest one to release, being scheduled to release sometime next year in September. Next, we have Vision Quest, a project revolving around White Vision, which is, along with Wonder Woman, rumored to be a limited series.

Matt Ramos, 22, was just 7 years old when the original “Iron Man” hit theaters. He was not the target audience for the film; nor was his Gen-z responsible for making Marvel and the MCU a cultural and box office behemoth.
But like the “Young Avengers” teased in “The Marvels,” Gen-z are the ones who will make or break the next decade of the MCU.
Today, Ramos has more than 3 million TikTok followers (he’s known there as “Supes”), influencing a passionate fan base consisting primarily of 16-24 year olds. For Ramos and his peers, Marvel fandom is alive and well.

The Young Avengers form a superhero squad in Marvel Comics, bringing together emerging heroes to fill the void left by the original Avengers. Anthony and Joe Russo's 2018 superhero blockbuster "Avengers: Infinity War" was the 19th film in the long-running Marvel Cinematic Universe, and had an ending so beautifully bleak that it could have served as the proper ending to the entire series.
Since the start of the MCU in 2008, Earth had become suddenly and suspiciously lousy with superheroes; the android Vision (Paul Bettany) made note of this astonishing new change to Earth in 2016's "Captain America: Civil War." What happened to the universe that hundreds of superheroes suddenly came into being?
And, as we all know, wherever there are superheroes, there are planet-wide cataclysms. It's almost as if superheroes are largely responsible for creating the mayhem they so often fight. What a fitting end to a superhero story, then, that they should attract a destructive threat larger than they could handle. Thanos (Josh Brolin) was concerned with overpopulation and, approaching the problem with a warlord's mindset,...

Well, that just happened. In Captain Marvel (2019), the former Kree AI hive-mind ruler, Supreme Intelligence, might have poisoned the titular character’s mind initially by falsifying against the shapeshifting alien race of Skrulls. But she was totally on point about the dangerous potential of the alien race, which the ongoing Disney+ series Secret Invasion has already showcased and will expand upon as well. Disenchanted by the failure of Nick Fury and former Skrull leader Talos to provide the refugee Skrulls with a planet of their own, rebel Skrulls chose the extremist Gravik as their leader. Gravik’s hardliner mindset has been showcased through the Moscow bombing and his willingness to eradicate humanity and make Earth the new home for Skrulls.

Ever since Disney bought 20th Century Fox in 2019, we’ve known that Deadpool would be coming to the MCU. But that arrival raised many questions about integrating the famously crass anti-hero into the decidedly PG-13 MCU, which only just had its first f-bomb in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Deadpool fans feared that Kevin Feige would tame the Merc With a Mouth, diminishing the subversive joy of the 2016 hit and its 2018 sequel.

The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe TV miniseries "Secret Invasion," set to debut on Disney+ in June, will tell the story of an infiltration of Earth by a species of malevolent shapeshifting aliens called the Skrulls. The invasion is extrapolated from events first presented in the 2019 film "Captain Marvel," which was set in 1995. It seems that the Skrulls have been biding their time, creeping their way into positions of power for years. This is, incidentally, also a plot point in the most recent season of "Star Trek: Picard," another series to feature shape-shifting alien villains.

But a recent Vanity Fair article has the intel, indicating a story that goes right to the heart of the Marvel Universe, shaking things up in a way that Thanos and Kang never could.

Immortal Studios, the creator of the world's first interconnected Wuxia (martial arts fantasy) “storyverse”, today announced the addition of Bob Harras as editor-at-large to its senior management team. The only person to have served as editor-in-chief of both Marvel and DC Comics, Harras will play an integral role as Immortal builds upon the successful fan driven launch of the four comic book titles – Adept, Assassin G, Chronicles of the Immortal Swordsmen and Fa Sheng – that serve as the foundation of its storyverse.
“As we embark on our mission to awaken heroes everywhere through the Immortal Storyverse, and Wuxia is again awakening as fan/youth favorited stories, Bob Harras' unparalleled experience shepherding story worlds for both Marvel and DC, the two most successful companies to have created cinematic universes, is helping us succeed in creating our own lane,” said Peter “Payhuan” Shiao, Immortal Studios founder/CEO and creator of the Immortal...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is an ever-expanding world of wonder and super-heroics. It’s also become a revolving door where, as the MCU ages, it has become a revolving door for characters old and new. At Morgan Stanley’s 2023 Technology Media and Telecom Conference on Thursday, Disney CEO Bob Iger said Marvel is constantly re-evaluating the repeated use of certain characters and who will be the franchise’s new faces overall. Jeremy Renner and his team overhaul decommissioned government vehicles to help communities around the world in the first trailer for his new docuseries “Rennervations,” which Disney released Tuesday. All episodes of the four-part series will premiere on Disney+ on April 12.
Speaking with his “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” co-star Anthony Mackie in the first trailer, Renner said, “There’s a lot of concern on the Avengers family chat that I’m going a little off the rails … The only difference between crazy and courage is a plan.”
Visibly wowed when he sees the scale of Renner’s operation, which involves turning a bus into a mobile recreation center, Mackie said, “I thought you were up here playing bumper cars!”
