You may not immediately know the name Scott Miller, but he's actually one of the more influential people in the modern history of gaming. In 1987, with the game Kingdom Of Kroz, Miller tried a method previously unseen in the gaming industry. He released the first episode of the game for free, but then charged for successive episode. The success of that model would change Miller's life and change the model of gaming to what we know today.
Now, he's back, and he's selling GodMode "The Worlds First Memory & Mind Accelerator Brain Vitamin Nootropic for Gamers & Achievers". If you have no idea what that means, check out the video below:
This "brain booster" is supposedly meant to increase your productivity and make you a better gamer. How it does that exactly, I'm not sure because visiting the website boasts the claim that this supplement is supported by 847 published studies all of which are completely unlinkable.

Six Flags Magic Mountain's Colossus roller coaster caught fire earlier today after welders were in the midst of construction on the beloved landmark. Flames were extinguished shortly thereafter, however, a portion of the ride subsequently collapsed as fire crew were working on putting out the blaze. Gearbox Vs. 3D Realms fight over supposed royalties ends, with prejudice
In a locally-based showdown that ended as sudden as it began, the legal tussle between local Dallas-area developers Gearbox Software and 3D Realms was dismissed this week. The breach of contract case, which was filed in June 2013 by 3D Realms, claimed that Gearbox failed to pay 2 million dollars (Us) in royalties and advancements for the transition of the Duke Nukem franchise to the Plano Texas based developer of Borderlands. In addition, an apology was publically issued by Scott Miller, CEO of 3D Realms:
"In all sincerity, we regret the misunderstanding that instigated our lawsuit, Now that we better understand--and appreciate--the actual nature of our business matters, we have voluntarily withdrawn our claims against Gearbox, with genuine apologies to [Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford] for any damage that our lawsuit may have caused to the relationship."

While things seemed to be going relatively well in the Jackson family as of late, it seems the late Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris is in a very dark place.
According to a report, the 15-year-old aspiring entertainer was rushed to the hospital this morning (June 5) after trying to kill herself.
Paris’ mother Debbie Rowe stayed pretty vague about the suicide attempt and would only say, “She has a lot going on.”
Prior to the incident, Jackson tweeted, "Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay.”
Los Angeles Fire Department rep Scott Miller told People that there was a 911 call at 1:27am “regarding a possible overdose.” Paris is expected to be okay.

Musician Scott Miller, best known as the leader of the ‘80s band Game Theory, has died, at the age of 53. The news was announced yesterday at Miller’s website. The site’s webmaster Sue Trowbridge revealed that Miller had been planning to record a Game Theory reunion album, to be called Supercalifragile, and advised that “If listening to Scott’s own music is too painful for you right now, as it is for me, I can tell you that he absolutely loved David Bowie’s new album, The Next Day.” Game Theory emerged in the early 1980s as a ...

Dimock, Pa. -- Josh Fox, director of the Oscar-winning documentary Gasland, stood at the front of the bus peering down the aisle, past Yoko Ono and Susan Sarandon, and out the back window.
A caravan of cars were trailing the Artists Against Fracking tour bus up a winding dirt road in northeastern Pennsylvania.
"Looks like we've got an escort from the industry," Fox said to the celebrities, advocates and media who had boarded the bus from New York City Thursday morning to get a first-hand look at what's at stake with Gov. Andrew Cuomo's looming fracking decision. Pennsylvania already has years of experience with natural gas operations, and controversy continues over cases of water contamination and families who believe they are sick as a result of fracking on or near their land.
Fox calls this part of Pennsylvania, particularly the small town of Dimock, the "canary in the coal mine" for natural gas.

After its trailer appeared last year, the $130 million fantasy film Empires Of The Deep went all quiet. Ryan wonders what happened...
Almost three years ago, a strange press conference took place in Beijing. On a stage bathed in flashing lights, women with low-body fat danced around on a stage, their dresses billowing. They wore strange, striped rubber appliances on their heads which looked a bit like shower caps. The guest of honour at the press conference was Olga Kurylenko, the actress who'd appeared in the Bond film Quantum Of Solace not long earlier.
The press conference was to promote the impending release of Empires Of The Deep - a $130 million special effects extravaganza which would mark China's triumphant entry into blockbuster filmmaking. Bankrolled by one Jon Jiang, a real estate magnate with very deep pockets, the film was billed as a Grecian fantasy movie under the sea,...

It seems that even the disasterpiece that was the protracted development of Duke Nukem Forever can keep 3D Realms down. The studio has laid out the first scant details of their next project, the crowdfunded Fps Earth No More via the new video game-centric crowdsourcing site Gambitious.
Here's how they're describing the project:
Mankind’s relentless destruction of Earth awakens a biological response from deep within the planet’s crust that threatens an environmental apocalypse.
According to this Eurogamer piece, it's a collaboration between 3D Realms and an unnamed developer. Right now, it doesn't look like you can actually put your money towards the project--one of ten on the Gambitious site--nor is there any information on what platforms we can expect to see Earth No More appear on.
That's actually a quirk/feature of Gambitious, it seems, curating the number of titles that are actively up for sourcing. Currently seven...

For a game series that is basically an interactive action film, Max Payne hasn’t as yet had any luck when translated to the big screen. The high-profile 2008 film adaptation, starring Mark Wahlberg in the title role, was disappointing to say the least, with dull action sequences and fundamental changes to the game’s story that made Scott Miller, CEO of 3D Realms and one of the films producers, speak out against it.
Now with the third installment in the game series set for release soon, another attempt at a film version of Max Payne is being attempted. Made by a group of Irish film makers, Aclique Productions, the film is simply titled Max, and attempts to capture the atmosphere of the game series and draws heavily on the new installment for it’s inspiration.
