According to rumors, James Gunn will make Green Arrow a part of his Justice League team in the Dcu. The character has a decent fanbase, thanks to Stephen Amell’s eight-season run as Oliver Queen in The CW show, Arrow. Earlier, Zack Snyder tried to include the character in the Dceu, with another actor considered for the role, but it didn’t ultimately work out. Interestingly, rumors also suggest that Dcu will make Black Canary his partner.

Amell expressed interest in reprising the character for a film version, which also didn’t happen probably due to Amell’s personal life troubles. The character Black Canary appeared in the Dceu, played by Jurnee Smollett, in the film Birds of Prey.

The West coast of America. Home once upon a time to a second team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The target is one of those heroes, having served on both rosters. A mere mortal amongst gods and soldiers, time and time again he has put it all on the line and came out to fight another day. We catch up with him as he traces down a lead on an old adversary. Of course we know this all to be a set up. He is here merely to be captured for our own amusement. The blue light flashes bright catching his eye, but quick enough to catch him off guard.
Later across the multiverses. Star City home to a vigilante who has stood the test of time from the Golden Age till now. Like his West coast counterpart this vigilante has stood side by side with his universes most powerful heroes.

When I first got into comics I would only really see Green Arrow in DC group shots in adverts and stuff. My train of thought at the time was ‘Oh The Avengers have an archer so naturally so do the Jla.’ I really got into the character a few years later when I picked up Kevin Smiths ‘Quiver’ story arc from the local library. I was going with the association of Smith’s name rather than anything else, but I absolutely loved it! Later from the same library I was able to pick up the following story arc. Fast forward a few years from that and all of a sudden Oliver Queen is the face of a brand new TV series that would run for 8 seasons and launch a very successful DC TV universe. Hopefully the show has done its job and brought a new audience to Green Arrow comics.
