Whenever there’s an incident of a kid committing a heinous crime, people often try to point the finger at someone else. It’s not necessary that an adult will have to bear responsibility for a crime committed by their offspring. The kids in Anna Zackrisson’s Deliver Me are lost in the dark, even though they have good people around them. The story doesn’t shy away from being brave and showing the hard truths that exist in society, and a few wonderful performances only add a cherry on top.

Your streaming options are about to get (a little) less spooky on Hulu. After two seasons on air, the service has canceled Castle Rock, the horror anthology series based on Stephen King's stories, according to Variety. Season two starred Mean Girls alum Lizzy Caplan along with Tim Robbins, Yusra Warsama, Barkhad Abdi and Matthew Alan as they adapted King's Misery. Fans know that the fictional Maine town the show was set in was inspired by Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. And that season one starred another lineup of actors who know how to keep us on edge: Andre Holland, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgard, Melanie Lynskey, Scott Glenn, Jane Levy and Terry O'Quinn. It’s official. Castle Rock will not be returning for a third season. Hulu has canceled the psychological horror series starring Lizzy Caplan after two seasons, Deadline has confirmed.
Season 2 of the anthology series premiered more than a year ago. There were no expectations for a third installment, and the decision to end the series after two seasons was made awhile ago. Once one of the first suppliers of Hulu after it branched out into premium original content, Warner Bros TV has focused its attention to supplying recently launched sibling HBO Max. There are no plans for Castle Rock to continue on HBO Max, we hear.

Hulu is not going back to “Castle Rock.” The Stephen King-inspired anthology has been canceled after two seasons.
The series was loosely based on King’s many works, including “Salem’s Lot,” “Misery” and “Shawshank Redemption.” The second season starred Lizzy Caplan as a younger Annie Wilkes, who was memorably portrayed by Kathy Bates in the film adaptation of “Misery.”
King executive produced the series alongside JJ. Abrams and his Bad Robot banner. It was from Warner Bros. TV and Dustin Thomason and Sam Shaw served as showrunner. It ended its two-season last December.
The series was set in Castle Rock, Maine, a fictional town that is frequently the setting for King’s novels, including “Cujo,” “The Dead Zone,” and “The Body” (the novella that “Stand By Me” was based on).

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until July 13 to cast their 2020 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for programs (save for animated documentary/nonfiction which are restricted to their peer groups). Unlike the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally. In the past, voters were limited in the number of programs that they could put forth. Three years ago that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted.
While there has been an explosion in the number of comedy and drama series recently, the limited series genre had been almost static. There were 25 entries in 2015, 26 in 2016 and 25 again in 2017. But there has been an uptick as of late, with 33 such shows submitted in 2018, 35 last year and 41 for this awards cycle. Even so, with five nominees for Best Limited Series, the odds for each of the entries detailed below is pretty good.

Castle Rock Season 2 Episode 8
Things have reached a breaking point in the towns of Castle Rock and Jerusalem's Lot, and Annie and Nadia's earthly problems suddenly seem minuscule in the face of this Satanic takeover. While "Dirty" is an entertaining episode, it lacks a bit of the substance of the first seven episodes, settling into familiar horror tropes instead. This is perhaps the horror-focused episode you've been waiting for, but its hard for it to stand next to the brilliant chapters that have come before.
If you love blood and guts, "Dirty" is certainly the episode for you. From throats being cut to people's heads being bashed open with a sledgehammer, the episode lets Annie lose herself in some bloody murder, as she tries...

Hulu has already released the first few episodes of J.J. Abrams and Stephen King’s Castle Rock and so far I’m loving it! If you haven’t started watching it yet, what are you waiting for!? We’ve got a new featurette to share with you today for the series which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the new season, and talks about creating an authentic Stephen King experience.
The second season of Castle Rock focuses on Annie Wilkes from King’s classic horrifying story, Misery. The synopsis explains that “a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes (Lizzy Caplan), Stephen King's nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock."
Lizzy Caplan is perfect in the role of Annie and I couldn’t be happier with how the story is playing out. There are some great plot points that I didn’t see coming.

As an anthology series, “Castle Rock” always planned to start a fresh story each season. Given the sheer volume of Stephen King content at co-creator and showrunner Dustin Thomason’s disposal, there’s no real concern of running short on new stories to build from old bones. Season 1 showed how connecting themes, locales, and people through the mysterious Maine town could deliver further thrills, chills, and deeply moving character studies enriched by a brilliant formal structure that mimics a memory-ravaging disease.
But Season 2 differs from Season 1 even more than one might expect. Though Hulu and Bad Robot’s sophomore effort sticks fairly close to the series’ pre-set plans, its central focus isn’t an original creation, but Annie Wilkes. The character made famous by Kathy Bates in “Misery” (and plenty of re-stagings thereafter) is the star again, embodied here by Lizzy Caplan. Unlike Henry Deaver, the Season 1 lead played by Andre Holland,...

The character made famous by Kathy Bates in “Misery” (and plenty of re-stagings thereafter) is the star again, embodied here by Lizzy Caplan. Unlike Henry Deaver, the Season 1 lead played by Andre Holland,...

Castle Rock Season 2 Episode 1
Reinterpreting a beloved Stephen King villain like Annie Wilkes is a tall order, but Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) makes it look easy. Channeling a nervous energy and an obsessively clean mouth (although no "cockadoodies" just yet), Caplan completely transforms into the unstable Wilkes for a new take that pays homage to Kathy Bates' legendary turn in Misery while also revealing a different side of the character.
Caplan is absolutely fantastic, shuffling nervously from scene to scene, trying to keep a low-profile even though she's all some of the other characters can see in the room. This version of Annie is odd, but not exactly in a menacing way, at least not at first.

Castle Rock is switching things up for its second season.
Instead of serving as a sequel to Castle Rock Season 1, we will be getting a different tale set in the same town.
But this tale is based on Stephen King's Misery novel, which was turned into a popular movie led by Kathy Bates.
It serves as an origins story for Annie Wilkes, and Lizzy Caplan is taking on the lead role as the "budding psychopath."

Annie Wilkes, the crazed nurse/superfan from Stephen King’s Misery, brings a fresh kind of terror to a sleepy Maine town in the new teaser trailer for Season Two of Castle Rock, which premieres October 23rd on Hulu.

I loved the first season of Hulu’s Castle Rock, which is a series that dives into the deep dark world of the Stephen King universe. The full trailer has been released for Season 2, and it’s got me super excited for the madness that is coming!
In Season 2, “a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes (Lizzy Caplan), Stephen King's nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock." The fact that her character is involved in this next season is awesome and it looks like Caplan is going to be great in the role. She’s got the crazy and insane look in her eyes that the character needs.

In the world of Stephen King novels, hospitals aren’t exactly the happiest of places. That’s especially true when Annie Wilkes is involved.
As part of Season 2 of “Castle Rock,” the Hulu anthology series based on the prolific author’s ever-growing body of work, Lizzy Caplan will assume the on-screen role made famous by Kathy Bates in the 1990 film “Misery.” Rocking the same shoulder-length bob and walking around in orthopedic shoes that are sinister by association, these new episodes find her in her pre-“Misery” days, after an accident leaves her stranded in the Maine town that gives the series its name.
Just like last season, “Castle Rock” is well steeped in all things King, beyond a novel or two here or there. With character names, places, and outright invocations of other King titles, Hulu’s show isn’t afraid to draw connections between the author’s other works.

I’m excited about Castle Rock Season 2! One of the main reasons for that excitement is the fact that it is going to feature the classic Stephen King character Annie Wilkes from Misery.

Hulu has set Lizzy Caplan to star in the second season of “Castle Rock,” and cast Paul Sparks to replace Garrett Hedlund as John “Ace” Merrill.
The character is a legendary bully who is taking over his uncle’s (Tim Robbins) businesses and jeopardizing the unsteady peace with nearby Jerusalem’s Lot. Hedlund had already filmed a few scenes, which will now be reshot. Deadline first reported the casting news.
In Season 2 of the J.J. Abrams and Stephen King series, a feud between warring factions comes to a head when nurse Annie Wilkes (Caplan) is waylaid in Castle Rock. Hulu has recast the role of “Ace” Merrill in the upcoming second season of “Castle Rock.” Paul Sparks will now play the character instead of Garrett Hedlund, a spokesperson for Hulu confirmed.
John “Ace” Merrill is the legendary King bully played by Kiefer Sutherland in “Stand By Me.”
“Castle Rock” is the re-imagining of the entire King canon into one universe and touches on some of his most iconic stories and characters. The fictional Maine town sits at the center of the King universe, appearing in numerous books including “Cujo,” “The Dead Zone,” and “The Body” (the novella that “Stand By Me” was based on).

Paul Sparks has been tapped to play John “Ace” Merrill, Castle Rock’s legendary bully, in the psychological horror series from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King. Tim Robbins and Lizzy Caplan will co-star in the second season of Hulu’s Stephen King anthology series, Castle Rock.
Like the first season, Season Two of Castle Rock will incorporate elements and characters from various King books. Robbins — who’s notably returning to the King universe for the first time since 1994’s The Shawshank Redemption — will play Reginald “Pop” Merrill, a crime family patriarch pulled from King’s novella, The Sun Dog, Entertainment Weekly reports. Caplan will portray Annie Wilkes, the crazed nurse/superfan from 1987’s Misery, who was...

Hulu has announced the star-studded cast for season two of “Castle Rock,” which will be led by Tim Robbins, “Masters of Sex” actress Lizzy Caplan, and “Eighth Grade” standout Elsie Fisher.
Season two will center around Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, who gets waylaid in the town of Castle Rock as a feud between warring clans comes to a boil.
Caplan will play Wilkes, a superfan battling to overcome mental health issues. Wilkes is the central antagonist in King’s 1987 novel “Misery,” and the character was played by Kathy Bates in the 1990 film adaptation. Bates won the Academy Award for best supporting actress for the role.
Robbins’ character, Reginald “Pop” Merrill, is the Patriarch of King’s iconic crime family. Pop is dying of cancer and at a reckoning with his family, as John “Ace” Merrill, who will be played by Garrett Hedlun, is trying to take...

I’m a big fan of the first season of Hulu’s psychological horror series Castle Rock, and as season two is gearing up for production we have some great casting news to share with you.
According to Deadline, Castle Rock season two will include Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy), Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex), and Elsie Fisher (Eight Grade). They will join series regulars Yusra Warsama (Assassin’s Creed: Origins), Barkhad Abdi (Blade Runner 2049), and Matthew Alan (13 Reasons Why).
We’ve also got some interesting details on the characters and the story that Stephen King fans will love.
Season two is said to focus on “a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes.” That’s right! The sadistic nurse from Misery will be coming to Castle Rock and she will be played by Caplan.

After nods to a bevy of the author’s prolific work, Season 2 of the Hulu series “Castle Rock” will be focusing on one Stephen King novel in particular. According to Deadline, the upcoming episodes of the anthology series will center on the main character from King’s 1987 book “Misery,” which became an Oscar-winning film three years later. As part of a lengthy announced ensemble for the season, Lizzy Caplan will play Annie Wilkes, the character made infamous by Kathy Bates in the Rob Reiner film. Per reports, this version of Wilkes hasn’t yet fully embraced the dangerous tendencies that would later lead her to hobble her favorite author, but some failed travel plans lead her to the series’ title Maine town.
In addition to Caplan, the stacked Season 2 cast also includes Elsie Fisher, Barkhad Abdi, Tim Robbins, Garrett Hedlund, Yusra Warsama, and Matthew Alan.
Fisher is set to play Annie’s daughter Joy.
