Johnny La is an American performance-trained actor, influencer, and digital marketer. He is known for Gunn (2008), General Hospital (1963), and Young & Hungry (2014). He was born and raised in San Jose, California. His father, Nam La, and mother, My Lam, came to the United States in the late 70s to pursue a better life. He was renowned for his role as both producer and lead actor in the 2006-2010 Asian-American series 'Gunn', a pivotal series during a period when Asian-American representation in the media was notably limited. 'Gunn' provided numerous Asian-American talents with invaluable opportunities. Johnny's burning passion for acting started during his early college years while attending drama class. While performing a scene with a romantic partner involving a breakup, the scene got so intense that after it had ended, Johnny looked up at the audience and saw members crying. At that moment, he knew that acting would be a calling that he could not ignore.
Before deciding to pursue acting as a career, he worked in the management industry and attended San Jose State University. He earned his Bachelor of Science Business Administration (Management) degree in 2008. In 2017, Johnny ventured into entrepreneurship starting his digital marketing agency, MRLA Media, while continuing to pursue his passion of working as an actor in Hollywood. Johnny has two younger siblings; Steven La and Cindy La. Johnny resides in Los Angeles, California, with his German Shepherd Robo.
