In a push to bulk up a library of adult-skewing dramas and to expand the brand identity beyond family fare, Disney+ has ordered a raft of scripted originals out of France, Germany and Spain.
Out of Gaul, the streamer has commissioned “The Lost Station Girls,” a true-crime thriller about a two-decades-long inquiry into the murders of four young women in the south-of-France. “Emily in Paris” star Camille Razat will topline the investigation drama produced by Itinéraire, the same outfit behind Disney’s BAFTA nominated “Oussekine,” while Gaëlle Bellan (“Tout Va Bien”) oversees the project. Production is already underway in the city of Perpignan.
In Germany, the period comedy “Vienna Game” will reframe the 1814 Congress of Vienna as a “a seven-month-long party” that takes an irreverent view of European diplomacy while paying deference to women behind the scenes who really got the job done. Bettina Kuhn of Satel Film is set to produce,...

Disney+ has ordered “Tout va bien,” a new French original series which will be co-directed and co-produced by ‘The Bureau’ creator and showrunner Eric Rochant. The anticipated series will also be directed by Xavier Legrand (“Custody”), Cathy Verney (“Vernon Subutex”) and Audrey Estrougo (“Supremes”).
Slated to start shooting in Paris soon, “Tout va bien” is created by Camille de Castelnau, a rising talent whose screenwriting credits include episodes of “The Bureau,” “Call My Agent” and “Standing Up.”
“Tout va bien” will be headlined by Virginie Efira (pictured) who stars in Rebecca Zlotowski’s upcoming Venice competition title “Les enfants des autres,” and Nicole Garcia (“Lupin”), among others.
The series, which will launch on Disney+ around the world in 2023, revolves around an dysfunctional Parisian family confronted to the tragic illness of one their children.
The cast also includes Sara Giraudeau, Aliocha Schneider, Bernard Le Coq, Eduardo Noriega, Yannik Landrein, Mehdi Nebbou and Angèle Mièle.

Rolling off “Versailles” and “Thanksgiving,” which is competing at Series Mania in Lille, Newen-owned Capa Drama is developing a raft of internationally-driven series with French and U.S. partners, including “The 10 O’Clock People” and “L’Infiltré.”
Headed by Claude Chelli, Capa Drama has partnered up with U.S. company Fabrik Entertainment to co-develop “The 10 O’Clock People,” a series adapted from a short novel by Stephen King which was published in the Nightmares & Dreamscapes collection. The story revolves around a Boston bank employee who discovers that many people, including some powerful ones, are inhuman monsters disguised as people. Pearson finds allies who, like him, have the ability to see these creatures through their disguises and forms a new resistance group. The series will shoot in English and is being developed by Arnaud Figaret and Aude Albano at Capa Drama.
