Sundance Film Festival 2025 is set to take place on Jan. 23-Feb. 2 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. Submissions will open later this spring.
“While the next Sundance Film Festival is still 10 months away, we’re already laying the foundation for the 2025 edition, looking ahead to sharing a new group of artists’ work with audiences at the start of next year,” said Eugene Hernandez, director of Sundance Film Festival and Public Programming.
This year’s festival marked Hernandez’s first as director. The Grand Jury awarded prizes to films “In the Summers” in the U.S. Dramatic category, “Porcelain War” (U.S. Documentary), “Sujo” (World Cinema Dramatic) and “A New Kind of Wilderness” (World Cinema Documentary).

"No food, no signal, no help, no hope." Uncork'd Ent. has revealed a trailer for a movie called Breath, made by filmmaker John Real. This almost plays like an Asylum remake of 127 Hours, but with a female lead and a *gasp* volcano twist. It looks pretty bad, oh well. Lara Winslet is an expert geologist in volcanology. She is with her team to conduct some surveys, and one day decides to stay longer to finish some work. But she has an accident, falling inside a hole in the ground. She remains stuck inside there, where no one can either see or hear her. It is now a race against time to get out safely. Rachel Daigh stars as Laura Winslet, with a small cast including James Cosmo and Neb Chupin. I know getting a guy from "Game of Thrones" is a big get, but it's a shame the marketing...

What could be scary about a music box? Your first thought is probably not a lot and you would more or less be correct but that hasn’t stopped them featuring in quite a few horror movies. Usually as silence is broken from them mysteriously playing on their own. But could a whole movie be based around this idea?! I found out soon enough with The Haunting of Sophie.
Perhaps the most annoying thing about this movie for me is that it doesn’t need to be a music box. It could be anything – a bucket, a cup, a fish tank, a cardboard box would do – there’s simply no reason for it to be a music box of some sort. It doesn’t help with the story,...
