Ell Balinska doesn’t care much for method acting. When you play a character who spends the entirety of a movie running from a deranged killer who can smell your blood, that seems like a pretty healthy attitude. The 26-year-old Brit, whose mother is the former top model and Food Network host Lorraine Pascale, knows a thing or two about protecting yourself in the midst of a grueling career. Though she is covered in blood in almost every scene of chilling new movie “Run Sweetheart Run,” she learned very quickly not to take work home with her.
“It’s an artist’s temptation to want to suffer and really feel the character. There’s a tricky balance there if you do that because while these themes are very real, the story is not,” the “Charlie’s Angels” star said during a recent interview. “For two weeks after I finished shooting, I...

If there is one thing we’ve learned about “Spring Baking Championships,” judge Lorraine Pascale it is that she is the epitome of ‘I can do anything,’ and do it well. So many people enjoy watching her, and we all want to know what she’s been doing since the pandemic started. She’s been handling her life from London, but we are wondering if she’ll be able to take part in her California-based show as a judge. Instead of stressing about her travel restrictions, though, we thought we’d just tell you how amazing she is in case you didn’t already know. 1.

By his own admission, Clinton Kelly isn’t “a huge dessert person.” But that won’t stop the host from ogling every delicious confection that contestants prepare for judges on the new season of Food Network’s “Spring Baking Championship,” which premieres Monday at 9 p.m. Et.
“In this show, I’m not doing any of the work. I’m obviously working as host, but I’m not actually doing any cooking,” the former co-host of “The Chew” and “What Not to Wear” told TheWrap. “I can just be a baking voyeur.”
When he’s not appearing on food-centric shows like “Spring Baking Championship,” “Rachael Ray” or “Family Restaurant Rivals,” Kelly is actually quite a homebody, he says, which gives him time to do some of his own cooking. It’s something the former magazine writer and fashionista knows a thing or two about — some of his own personal recipes...

Food Network Star has managed a place in the upper tier of reality competition programs, but it is somewhat unique insofar as it doesn’t really seem to have any legitimate record when it comes to meeting its alleged goal. It certainly rocketed out of the gates, and has had some notable winners, but after 11 seasons, and several shifts in format (like who chooses the winner), Food Network Star certainly draws its own audience, but it doesn’t exactly find stars… or at least, Stars.
Quick, name the last three winners and the shows they were given on the network. Good luck.
Quite honestly, the main flaw seems to be in letting people progress deeper and deeper into the competition without any idea what their show is going to be. Sure, they’re cooking, and they are, for the most part, doing pretty well with their screen challenges, but then...

She said: "I'd like to thank Sky for giving me the opportunity to work on the UK version of this massively successful show.

Landlord said to me all 'n words' should go 'home' & were not welcome. He said I could stay tho as his wife liked my cakes. Lucy Prebble, playwright, 30
Prebble is the creator of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl. Her latest play, Enron, transferred to the West End and Broadway in 2010.
When we were auditioning actors for Enron, they'd talk to the director, not to me, and it occurred to me they thought I was a secretary taking notes. Then one said, "Who's the writer?" and the director said, "She is." This guy just looked at me and went, "You wrote this? Ok..." and nodded. It was beautiful because I felt like he was giving me a lot of respect.
I've always written – diaries, terrible poetry when I was younger, that sort of thing – but I didn't think about showing anyone until I was at university. I fell in with a group of...

The Marvellous Mrs Beeton, With Sophie Dahl
8pm, BBC2
Along with Lorraine Pascale, Sophie Dahl is another of the BBC's roster of models-turned-domestic-goddesses. Dahl's show isn't simply a cook-to-camera affair, though. Mrs Beeton's Book Of Household Management (1861) attempted to cover all aspects of running a home, from recipes to providing a template for housewifely deportment. As Dahl discovers, although we imagine Mrs B as a middle-aged matriarch, she wrote the book in her early 20s, and by 28, was dead. John Robinson

8pm, Sky Living
In Sarah Michelle Gellar's first TV drama role since Buffy, she plays Bridget, a recovering addict who was witness to a murder. Despite FBI protection, she fears for her life and absconds to New York to stay with her wealthy twin sister, Siobhan, also played by Gellar. However, when Siobhan mysteriously disappears,...
