As I watched 9 Bullets the plot seemed overly familiar, it wasn’t billed as a remake of anything but it seemed very familiar. Then it hit me, Gloria, a film John Cassavetes made in 1980, and remade by Sidney Lumet in 1999. Both involve a tough woman who has to go on the run with a young boy wanted by the mobsters who killed his parents. In Gloria he has a book with incriminating information, in this film, it’s a laptop. In both films, the mob boss is her ex and as a name, Gypsy isn’t that far from Gloria either.
I wasn’t surprised to see that it was one of a slew of films writer/director Gigi Gaston cited as an influence on 9 Bullets.

"Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner is taking an incredibly un-Sansa-like turn in her new movie, "Barely Lethal."
The flick is about a 16-year-old assassin (Hailee Steinfeld) who fakes her own death to have a normal adolescence in high school, and it is currently filming in Atlanta. Based on the pictures and videos coming from the set, it seems like the entire cast is enjoying Turner's tendency for hilarious antics with her cast members.
Director Kyle Newman (husband of "Hart of Dixie's" Jaime King) has been sharing a number of adorable videos and pictures of Turner on his Instagram. In one, Turner photo bombs him, while in another she tries to slam Dove Cameron's face into some food.
Turner shared her own cute pic from set that shows costars Hailee Steinfeld, Emma Holzer and Thomas Mann goofing off.

Gomez, Hudgens, Franco, guns and bikinis: Outstanding domestic debut Harmony Korine's crime flick Spring Breakers currently boasts the year's highest per-theater average. That's no small feat. As per final Us/Canada weekend box-office numbers published on the web site Box Office Mojo, this past weekend (March 15-17) the film raked in $263,002 at three locations (two in New York City, one in Los Angeles). That's down slightly from the studio's $270,000 estimate released on Sunday, but still enough to average a fantastic $87,667 per venue. (Pictured above: Gomez [scroll down for more on Gomez's box-office performance to date; pictured below: bad girls in bikinis in court.) One of the highest opening weekend per-theater averages ever Spring Breakers was down one spot on Box Office Mojo's post-1982 chart of opening-weekend per-theater averages. At #23, the movie is sandwiched between two Academy Award winners: Tom Hooper / Colin Firth's The King's Speech with $88,863 and Steven Spielberg / Daniel Day-Lewis' Lincoln with $85,846. Once inflation is factored in, Spring Breakers drops to the 52nd spot (down nine spots from yesterday's estimates), landing between Daniel Myrick...
