The "Pawn Stars" (Mon., 10 p.m. Et on History) got their hands on a signed copy of aviator Charles Lindbergh's autobiography Monday night.
Rather rashly, Chumlee Russell bought the copy of "We" for $500 without first checking that the autograph was real.
Fortunately for Chumlee, this time his instincts paid off -- after an expert authenticated the autograph he was able to resell the book for a cool $1,500.
Check out Rick Harrison reliving the time he was duped by a forged autograph.

They say that one man's trash is another man's treasure, but a less common adage is that one man's precious heirloom is potentially a few months rent if the guys of Pawn Stars will give them enough. It's not said too often, sure, but considering how half the shows on A&E are about people buying other people's things to try and make a profit, I wouldn't be surprised if it catches on. Pawn Stars just finished its fifth season, and the sixth won't start until much later this year. If you find yourself suffering from Chumlee withdrawal, then you mind find some comfort in the fact that the fourth season of Pawn Stars just hit DVD. Better yet, we have two copies to give away.

Pawn Stars: Volume 4… Even Pawn-y-er
Rick Harrison, Old Man, Big Hoss, and Austin Harrison (who for some inexplicable reason insists on being called “Chumlee") are back for another round of pawn shop hijinks at their family-owned Las Vegas pawn shop, the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.
Though the level of hackneyed, clearly choreographed arguments between the bickering family members/owners threaten to nearly choke viewers, Rick Harrison seems to remain a consistently pleasant and fair shopkeeper. His vast array of knowledge is no doubt why this series is as successful as it is – even amidst the flood of pawn, salvage, auction, and storage treasure-hunting shows that seem to be multiplying by the hour. In explaining the significance of various items to a typically blank-faced Chumlee, Rick doles out all sorts of useless information that would make you a hero on your local trivia team…and not anywhere else.

The back room of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop looks exactly as "Pawn Stars" fans might expect, with one very notable exception: one massive wall is lined, floor to ceiling, with boxes and boxes (and boxes) of t-shirts. Since the debut of the hugely popular reality show "Pawn Stars" (Mondays at 10 p.m. Et on History) in 2009, it seems everyone wants to walk around with images of fan favorite Chumlee emblazoned across their chests.
He's the resident clown of the most famous little pawn shop on Las Vegas Boulevard and has become an unlikely pop culture icon, with sales of all Chumlee-related merchandise far surpassing everyone else's. Rick Harrison, the affable pawnbroker who anchors the show, has his own theory that might explain Chumlee's mass appeal: "Kids love Chumlee because he's the adult that they're smarter than," he quipped with a laugh to The Huffington Post at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.

On "Pawn Stars" (Mon., 10 p.m. Est on History) Chumlee Russell took a punt on a very esoteric item -- a can of "Zoo Doo."
The can was full of "Guaranteed Genuine Rotted Elephant Manure," which the label said originated at the Washington Park Zoo, and which was billed as "nature's most potent fertilizer."
The seller had bought it from a local auction company and joked that although the "Elephant Elixir" was basically priceless, he'd take $10,000 for it. Chumlee's counter-offer was $20.
After thinking about it for a moment or two, the seller agreed to take the $20 and they shook hands. Sold!

The debut of the new "Cajun Pawn Stars" was a huge hit with the History Channel ... but TMZ has learned the guys at the original "Pawn Stars" show are Pissed because they had no idea it was being made. Sources close to Left Field Pictures -- the production company behind "Pawn Stars" -- tell us the Vegas crew feels "blindsided" ... because they only learned about the show a few weeks ago ... when the network made the official announcement.

Last night on "Pawn Stars" (Mon., 10 p.m. Est on History) Corey Harrison and Chumlee Russell had a book appraised that they thought could be a first edition of Walden by Henry David Thoreau.
A first edition would be a big deal -- the appraiser tells them one could sell for as much as $25,000. She checks the book out as the guys look on nervously.
The good news? It is a first edition. The bad news? It's an English first edition, which is not as rare and thus not as valuable. The last one she saw at auction had a guide price of $500 to $600 but eventually sold for only $100.

"The Walking Dead" Marathon (11 a.m. to 12 midnight Est on AMC)
If you've missed out on the critically-acclaimed zombie drama or are just trying to avoid all of the other soulless, dead-eyed beings that congregate on New Year's Eve, it's your lucky night: AMC is re-airing "The Walking Dead" in its entirety, from the premiere episode to the recently-aired midseason finale. It's a gory way to celebrate 2012, but it's probably less messy than going out for the night.
"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012" (8 p.m. to 2:13 a.m. Est on ABC)
Those intro tradition can keep it locked on the alphabet network for nearly 5.5 hours of bi-coastal New Year's festivities, presided over by the eponymous Dick Clark and the ever-present Ryan Seacrest. Things kick off at 8 p.m. with "New Year's Rockin' Eve: The 40th Anniversary Party," hosted by Jenny McCarthy in Times Square and Fergie in Los Angeles.

New York -- Forty years ago, Dick Clark's New Year's Eve special was created to give young people an alternative to a seasonal institution, bandleader Guy Lombardo.
Now Clark's annual show is the institution.
"New Year's Rockin' Eve," with Clark and Ryan Seacrest, pays tribute to its own history during a sprawling, nearly six-hour program Saturday night. The celebration takes up all of prime time on ABC, breaks for a half-hour of local news, then comes back on the air for two and a quarter hours that includes the ball dropping in New York City's Times Square to mark the beginning of 2012.
"I'm looking forward to it being 2:15 (a.m. on Sunday)," said Larry Klein, who has been producing the show since 1977.

Happy Weird Wednesday! This week, we've got an $11,500 bar bill by the dimwitted "Pawn Stars" sidekick Chumlee, marzipan babies, Coca-Cola trumpets and what Kim Kardashian really thinks about olives. Let's get started, shall we?
Austin "Chumlee" Russell celebrated his birthday at the Push nightclub in Tunica, Miss. with $11,000 worth of Cristal. [TMZ]
A just-opened exhibit at London's Victoria & Albert Museum called "Power of Making" blends science and crafts. Among its 200 objects are a baby made of marzipan, a crocheted life-sized bear, an artificial eye maker and a coat hanger gorilla that stands 3 meters tall. [TreeHugger]
Archbishop Don Magic Juan, who Snoop Dogg calls his spiritual advisor, has been forced to quit eating meatloaf for good following surgery to remove a blood clot. [TMZ]
Stefan Asafti inspires "brandversations" with his project that uses one company's logo to create a larger print of its competitor's logo. [Behance]
Tangelo fans, meet the next big hybrid fruit: the pluerry.

" Pawn Stars " badass Austin " Chumlee " Russell made one hell of a birthday negotiation at a nightclub this weekend -- You give me 40 bottles of Cristal ... I'll give you $11 Thousand Dollars!! Chumlee rolled into Push nightclub in Tunica, Mississippi on Saturday night -- and decided he wanted to treat the entire place to some fancy champagne ... so he did. Chum -- who was hanging with "Pawn Stars" bodyguard Antoine -- racked up a total bill of...

I recently took a trip to the Us for a holiday and, as I tend to do when on holiday in America, I found myself flicking through the many television channels available on the hotel TV – and, as also tends to happen when having so much choice, I stopped upon the strangest shows I saw and wouldn’t you know it the majority of those were (shudder) reality television. And somehow I became hooked… I even took time to find out when these weird and wonderful shows were on TV so I could watch more. Thank god for Us television ‘s love of series marathons is all I can say!
Inspired by my new-found love of Us reality television, a love which I seem to have brought home to the UK with me, here’s my Top 5 Us Reality Shows:

Corey " Big Hoss " Harrison from " Pawn Stars " dropped over 100 Pounds in less than five months, TMZ has learned -- all thanks to hard work ... and a little help from his doctor. Hoss tells TMZ, he decided to get lap band surgery back in February -- after his doctor diagnosed him as a prediabetic. According to Hoss, he's already lost 115 pounds, and continues to shed the weight -- working out with a trainer 5 days a week...

Reality TV always seems to get the short end of the stick from Emmy watchers, but it's probably because the television academy really doesn't know what to do with the category.
For instance, the categories for outstanding reality show, reality-competition show and reality host have been shuttled back and forth between the main primetime ceremony and the Creative Arts ceremony -- what former winner Kathy Griffin has affectionately called the "Schmemmys" -- so many times that it's hard to keep track.
Secondly, the academy seems to be have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to reality; until 2010, the only winner of the competition show category was "The Amazing Race" (the equally highbrow-ish "Top Chef" won last year), and in the general reality program category, there's not a Kardashian or a Real Housewife to be found.
But at some point, the folks at the academy are going to...

Those " Pawn Stars " guys are Ballin' ... because Chumlee just bought a Badass Maserati -- and he used his haggling skills to knock a ton of cash off the sticker price!!! TMZ spoke with Chum who tells us ... when he walked into the Vegas dealership Thursday, the guys wanted around $100k for the jet black whip. But Chum was able to drive off with the car for only $85,000. The Old Man would be proud. Read more...

There are certain shows that I wish weren't on the air not because I have any informed opinions about them, but because their mere existence makes me aware of certain things I'd rather forget about. Like the "Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy" show. Not only am I forced to confront the existence of Larry the Cable Guy every time I write about it, but I am forced to also confront the man's baffling, nearly inexplicable continued success. Today I found myself wondering if he had ever even really worked as a cable guy and I wanted to punch my brain while yelling "Not The Point!!!" at it. I'd leave it off, but then one of you might turn on the History channel this evening hoping for some good rehashing of how killing Nazis is awesome and then you'd see that and be all "Why, Intern Rusty, why have you forsaken me?...

Rochester, NY - Ever wonder why schools today stink compared to decades ago? Every think tank moron has their dubious reasonings that appeases their corporate masters. But the truth is extraordinarily simple: Schools dumped their education films.
Do you remember those days when the gym teacher had to pad out health class by wheeling in the 16mm projector from the Av department? They’d thread up classic tales about your body, narcotics, driving safety and manners. Things which kids nowadays can’t seem to handle.
When the Vcr arrived in schools, the 16mm projector was quickly dumped as teaching tool.
Where did these classic films go? Many arrived at the city dump. However a few lucky tens of thousands found themselves on the racks of the Av Geeks Archive. This repository of cinematic education is overseen by Skip Elsheimer. He started collecting the films after I moved out of the infamous PineHaus.

Pahrump - Call it Hof Vegas. Dennis Hof of HBO’s Cathouse no longer wants me to warn readers that his Bunny Ranch empire is in only Reno and not Las Vegas. He’s bringing his style of adult fun to the outskirts of Sin City. He called up the hotline from the middle of Crystal, Nevada to spread the news. The sounds of hammering and drills came from his end of the phone.
“We’re moving around here and getting some things done,” Dennis Hof said. “I bought two 35 year old rundown, rat trap brothels. What you’re buying is the licenses.”
The two old names were Cherry Patch Ranch and Mabel’s Whore House. The new places are Love Ranch and Dennis Hof’s Cathouse. “Those are name that are synonymous with good times.”
There are no good times for the former owner. He got arrested for bribing a county official.

Treating Las Vegas clubgoers like a mob of hungry strippers, the guys from " Pawn Stars " grabbed an economically-conscious stack of singles this weekend -- and made it drizzle all over the place. Our friends at SpyOnVegas.com shot photos of Rick Harrison , Big Hoss and Chumlee throwing around their hard-earned cash at Vanity nightclub in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday night. No word on exactly how much money the crew dropped that night...

The notion that any one person could have something of great value stashed away in his or her attic or basement will forever be a tantalizing thought; it's how a show like “Antiques Roadshow,” an incredibly dry (but entertaining) series that is only shown up in dryness by the guy selling gemstones on the Home Shopping Network, can be capable of being the most watched show on public television. Any of us could have some piece of junk that is secretly a hundred-year-old artifact worth thousands, and the owners and operators of Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas intend on cashing in on whatever you can bring them. The coolest ones are taped and put into episodes of Pawn Stars, this collection being of its sophomore season.
A lot of interesting items come through the doors of Gold & Silver. To greet them is a staff comprised of three generations of pawn brokers: Corey,...
