The series is based on Phoebe Robinson’s book “Everything’s Trash, But It’s Okay.” Robinson stars in the series as Phoebe, described as a “30-something outspoken podcast star making her professional mark while living a broke and delightfully messy life in Brooklyn. When her ‘perfect’ older brother launches a political campaign, she’s forced to start her adulting journ-journ.”
Desai-Barochia will play Gael, the CEO of Limelight Media, which is a major podcast venture. The official character description says he is “charismatic and globetrotting. Desai-Barochia is best known for playing Janzo on The CW fantasy adventure series “The Outpost” for four seasons.

The CW is parting ways with one of its summer series.
According to TV Line, The Outpost has been canceled after four seasons.
The last-ever episode is currently set to air on the network Thursday, October 7 at 9/8c.
Like many CW series, the on-air ratings have sagged considerably.
The show returned in July to 450,000 viewers and a 0.05 rating, and it has been staying around those numbers since.
As a co-production, the series was thought to have lasted this long because co-productions are typically cheaper to produce because of the different outlets involved.
The series “follows Talon, the lone survivor of a race called Blackbloods. Years after her entire village was destroyed by a gang of brutal mercenaries, Talon travels to a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world, as she tracks the killers of her family," according to the official logline.

Electric Entertainment and Arrowstorm Entertainment said Monday they’ll resume production in Serbia for the third season of the CW’s fantasy-adventure series The Outpost. Production was halted at the onset of the coronavirus outbreak in mid-March.
Restarting production is a hot topic Stateside as the industry, unions and state and local officials hash out protocols. Governor Gavin Newsom of California Friday announced guidelines to restart on June 12 if local conditions permit. Meanwhile, Serbia has been one of several countries that are particularly active in wooing productions overseas.
The announcement was made jointly by Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment and Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin of Arrowstorm Entertainment.
Balkanic Media, a production company based in Belgrade, has an extensive post-lockdown production plan containing thorough and comprehensive guidelines on maintaining staff and crew’s safety on-set. All crew members are going through training to ensure safety measures are maintained.

Just ahead of its fall season rollout, which launches tonight, the CW is already looking ahead, announcing its 2019 summer programming lineup. It features six original series — one new and five returning — including three acquired dramas, as the CW has renewed all of its summer 2018 series. It is one of the CW’s biggest slates of original shows specifically designated for the off-season. The network has acquired British action drama Bulletproof from Sky Vision and ordered second seasons of legal drama Burden of Truth, starring Kristin Kreuk, and fantasy-adventure series The Outpost. The CW has also ordered new seasons of the hit magic series Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Masters Of Illusion, and the classic improv comedy Whose Line Is It Anyway? all set for premiere in summer 2019. Premiere dates and times will be announced later.
Bulletproof, from Vertigo Films and Company Pictures, follows two undercover cops, Bishop and Pike as they chase down hardened criminals in London’s East End. Pike is an aspirational family man, the son of a decorated police officer who is determined to follow in his father’s footsteps, but not be in his shadow. Meanwhile, Bishop grew up in care homes and on the streets, and never knew his father. Despite these differences Bishop and Pike are bonded by the same moral code and work brilliantly well together even when the chemistry between them looks set to explode.
Allan Niblo Michele Buck Judy Counihan Nick Love Noel Clarke, and Ashley Walters executive produce. The series was co-funded by Sky’s distribution arm, Sky Vision, who control international rights.
Burden Of Truth, starring Kristin Kreuk, is a serialized investigative drama about life-altering legal cases. IFC Films and Entertainment One produces in association with Eagle Vision Inc. with executive producers Ilana Frank, Adam Pettle, Jocelyn Hamilton, Linda Pope and Kristin Kreuk.
Created by Kynan Griffin and Jason Faller, The Outpost, a fantasy-adventure series from Electric Entertainment and Arrowstorm Entertainment, executive producers Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner, follows Talon (Jessica Green), the lone survivor of a race called the “Blackbloods.” In a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world, Talon must learn to master her supernatural powers, and ally with a Queen who has been in hiding to defend the world against a fanatical religious dictator. Jake Stormoen, Imogen Waterhouse and Anand Desai-Barochia alsp star.
The Outpost also is executive produced by Electric Entertainment’s team of Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson and by Arrowstorm Entertainment’s team of Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin, the team behind the cult favorite Mythica films. Jennifer Griffin of Arrowstorm Entertainment is also producing.
Penn & Teller: Fool Us is a one-hour competition series celebrating magic and featuring the legendary duo Penn & Teller. Hosted by actress Alyson Hannigan (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), the series is created and executive produced by Penn Jillette, Teller, Peter Adam Golden and Andrew Golder in association with 1/17 Productions and September Films (part of Dcd Media).
Hosted by actor Dean Cain (Supergirl), Masters of Illusion features amazing magic performed by cutting-edge illusionists and escape artists, and performers in each episode displaying skills ranging from perplexing interactive mind magic to hilarious comedy routines. The series hails from Associated Television International with executive producers David McKenzie, Gay Blackstone, David Martin and Al Schwartz, along with co-executive producer Jim Romanovich.
Whose Line Is It Anyway?, based on the hit UK format and hosted by comedian Aisha Tyler, features cast members Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie. Along with a special guest comedian in each episode, the cast members put their comedic skills to the test through a series of spontaneous improv games. Series creators Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson executive produce with Jimmy Mulville, Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie. We think it's fair to say that scripted offerings on the broadcast networks during the summer months are pretty much non-existent.
The CW is gearing up to launch two new dramas this summer, and we have the first trailer for one of them.
The Outpost's official description reads:
Years after her entire village is destroyed by a gang of brutal mercenaries, Talon travels to a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world, as she tracks the killers of her family.
On her journey to this outpost, Talon discovers she possesses a mysterious supernatural power that she must learn to control in order to save herself, and defend the world against a fanatical religious dictator.
The first trailer certainly shows off the action, and it actually looks like a mash-up of Reign and The Shannara Chronicles, which we're totally okay with.

Expensive concert tickets to see the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna aren't deterring fans from the urge to "catch 'em all." The Poké Go game that is sweeping the nation isn't just catching cheating boyfriends and luring players to armed robberies - it's ruining concerts. Rihanna issued a warning to the crowd in Lille, France over the weekend to put their phones away, asking them to make Pokémon Go, well, stop during the show. "I don't want to see you texting your boyfriends or your girlfriends," the singer told the audience. "I don't want to see you catching any Pokémons up in this bitch.

Pokémon Go has taken the nation by storm, so much so that people are even catching Pokémon at Beyoncé's shows - yep, you read that right. During a recent stop on the Formation world tour, a fan named Anand Desai-Barochia caught footage of a young woman playing the mobile game while standing front row at the show, and let's just say he wasn't very pleased about it. In the short clip, Anand can be heard yelling, "Look at where she is! She's next to the stage! This b*tch is playing Pokémon!" while Beyoncé sings in the background. Lesson learned: don't play Pokémon Go at a Beyoncé concert if you don't want to get stung by the Beyhive. A video posted by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom) on Jul 22, 2016 at 6:36pm Pdt...
