So imagine you’re looking for a nanny. This person is going to be alone with your child, and what’s more, you child is chronically ill. Do you choose someone who looks a lot younger than she claims to be, presents no documents, acknowledges that she has no experience, says upfront that she doubts your child’s illness is real, and immediately begins treating him in a possessive way? If you do, then what you probably need is Child Services.
Perhaps it’s not surprising that Rebecca (Kat Foster) and Jacob (Myko Olivier) make this mistake, because they’re clearly not that smart to begin with. Their description of the allergies from which young Johnny (Danilo Crovetti) suffers is patently absurd. Nobody can wear nickel jewellery around him? Nickel (oxide) only causes allergy with direct contact over time and, though unpleasant, isn’t actually dangerous. An...

"Bone-chilling, knee-buckling nastiness." Get ready for another acid trip horror film. Shudder has unveiled an official trailer for another indie horror film streaming soon titled Spoonful of Sugar, the latest from director Mercedes Bryce Morgan. This premiered at Fantastic Fest last year and also played at the Cucalorus Film Festival. A disturbed babysitter experiences a sexual awakening while using LSD to alternatively treat a seemingly “sick” kid. Morgan Saylor stars as Millicent, who is working on her thesis about children with severe allergies. She's hired to babysit Johnny, a sickly, mute child who suffers from every allergy under the sun. As she discovers Johnny's dark family secrets things begin to become unhinged. The cast includes Kat Foster, Danilo Crovetti, Myko Olivier, Danilo Crovetti, & Keith Powell. Looks like it gets extra wild with LSD sending everyone up the walls and all over the place. Maybe too much in one film? Or maybe not.

Whatever innocence is introduced in Mercedes Bryce Morgan's "Spoonful of Sugar" with the hummed tune of "Oh My Darling, Clementine" and glimpses of Christmas candy canes rots away like a forgotten fruit that rolls forever out of sight. Imagine "Mary Poppins" breakneck twisting into the darkness of "Orphan" or "Hard Candy." Leah Saint Marie's screenplay explores a drug-induced coming-of-age tale about a supposed hair-twirling babysitter's virgin's sexuality, but that's before Saint Marie balances out storytelling sweetness with an avalanche-pour of salty malevolence. "Spoonful of Sugar" is bone-chilling, knee-buckling nastiness that punishes every character with zero compassion — this ain't the twinkly-eyed fairy tale Morgan deceptively sells at the movie's onset.
Morgan Saylor stars as ponytailed and supposedly 21-year-old Millicent, who's just been hired by accomplished author Rebecca (Kat Foster) to babysit her allergy grab-bag of a son, Johnny (Danilo Crovetti). Millicent claims she's taking a summer hiatus from studies...

‘Made in Malta’.
In less than three years, Julian Galea has made two indie features – Love to Paradise and Made In Malta – and has another in pre-production.
The Maltese-Australian filmmaker previously worked in construction management. However, after enjoying a two day filmmaking course when visiting New York back in 2009, he returned to Australia, sold everything and moved to NYC to study filmmaking in earnest. After that, he moved to La and on return to Sydney, established production company Galea Pictures, working on a variety of music videos, corporate content and shorts.
Galea tells If when he initially came back from The States he had several feature ideas he wanted to get made at the $1-3 million budget range. However, he found it difficult to get inroads with funding bodies and to get projects off the ground.
“The fact is, unless you have credits, it’s really tough for people to back you.

The plodding Eternity: The Movie has only the best intentions: to send up the '80s along with the terrible, synthesized whiteboy r&b of the era. But the godawful voiceover narration by Barrett Crake immediately telegraphs the film's sluggishness and lack of imagination. Todd (Crake), a Midwestern kid who moves to Los Angeles, meets fellow musician B.J. (Myko Olivier), and they form a terrible pop duo called Eternity. Some period montages happen, and they rise to the top of the charts before falling in love with the same woman. Meanwhile, the dialogue is overgrown with moronic gay entendres that the characters are too stupid to get and that most audiences are too enlightened to laugh at. The jokes are slow and obvious, and the editor lingers over every one like a sleepy d...

Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) faces an emotional milestone on the Oct. 28 episode of ABC's Castle when his daughter, Alexis (Molly Quinn), moves out of his loft and into her own apartment — with her boyfriend, Pi (Myko Olivier). "Castle does not respond well at all," says Quinn. "He's angry about it because he knows how [he himself has treated] women, but he's not the kind of parent who can say no."
With Alexis and Pi sharing a futon, the implication is that little Alexis — gasp! — has lost her virginity. Quinn refuses to let her mind go there. "I'm still pretending that's not the case, but it is the reality," she says. "I've heard that a romantic scene may be coming up."
