- Earned the nickname "Toughguy" when he started out in acting as an extra. They'd always say, "Send the tough-guy to us." Then someone added Atlanta to it to become the "Atlanta Toughguy".
- Broke into acting when he saw a newspaper article looking for extras to be prisoners in a movie being filmed in his hometown.
- Tim volunteers for various charities. He flies for Mercy Flight Southeast, which transports patients free of charge to their medical treatments, and works with Warriors & Horses, a program that couples wounded veterans with horse riding therapy.
