We’re two weeks out from San Diego Comic-Con 2022, which happens to be the first real Sdcc since Covid-19 shut everything down in 2020. Yes, Comic-Con international did hold a very small, stripped down version of the event last thanksgiving but this year marks the convention’s return — hopefully — to pre-covid glory.
Naturally, you can expect a lot of great panels and events to plan for, and lucky for you, per tradition, today marks the start of daily news drops for the Sdcc 2022 schedule. So grab your calendar and let’s get started.
Paramount claimed the first Hall H panel of Sdcc 2022 with a look at “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” which starts at noon on July 21 in Hall H.

Next week, Disney+ will release its second annual variety special for Pride Month — featuring a parade of talent celebrating the LGBT community “through song and storytelling.”
But “Say It With Pride: Disney+ Celebrates Pride 365” won’t be available on Disney+ itself. Rather, the special will premiere June 30 at 8 p.m. Et on Disney+’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
Asked why “Say It With Pride” will not be distributed on Disney+, a company spokesperson declined to provide an explanation. Last year’s “This Is Me: Pride Celebration Spectacular” from Disney+ also streamed only on YouTube and Facebook.
According to Disney+’s announcement, the upcoming special “aims to uplift voices from the community to discuss their journeys, celebrate the achievements and contributions of the Lgbtqia+ community, and look toward a future that embodies diversity and unity with Pride.”
Why doesn’t that fit into the Disney+ programming lineup? One way to look...

"Are you human?" Or is he something else? Indie Rights has debuted an official trailer for a peculiar indie sci-fi comedy titled Mandao Returns, the sequel to Mandao of the Dead from 2018. Korean-American filmmaker Scott Dunn writes, directs, and stars in both of these homemade films as Jay Mandao, an astral projecting time traveler slacker. This next one, however, is Christmas themed. Jay Mandao has returned. Christmas is in the air as Jay astral projects back in time to prevent the death of a B-movie star. However, the more Jay and his friends mess with time, the deadlier Christmas becomes. Also starring Gina Gomez Dunn, Jenny Lorenzo, Alexandre Chen, Sean Liang, Sean McBride, and also Jim O'Doherty. This Christmas is gonna kick astral! Cool? This looks amusing, in a very your-friends-made-a-home-movie way. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Scott Dunn's Mandao Returns, direct from YouTube: Jay Mandao (Scott Dunn) is not your average hero.

Indie Rights has announced the release of writer/director Scott Dunn’s sci-fi horror comedy, Mandao Returns, the sequel to Dunn’s spectral comedy, Mandao of the Dead. The third feature from Scott Dunn and producer Gina Gomez Dunn, Mandao Returns was successfully funded via Kickstarter in only 11 days and finished filming only two days before the Covid-19 pandemic shuttered film productions. Dunn was forced to tackle post-production remotely to finish the feature in time for a December debut.
Mandao Returns is headlined by Jenny Lorenzo, Jim O’Doherty, Sean Liang (American Horror Story: 1984), Scott Dunn, Sean McBride, Gina Gomez Dunn and Alexandre Chen.
Jay Mandao is not your average hero. He’s an astral projecting time traveler who spends his days hanging with his adult nephew Jackson, crashing on his scheming cousin Andy’s couch, and riding with his cabbie friend Fer. In the days leading up to Christmas, Jay...

After the termination of two of BuzzFeed Video’s popular personalities, BuzzFeed Motion Pictures President Ze Frank published a memo on Monday clarifying the company’s exclusivity and ownership rules. Politico reported last Wednesday that producer and actor Brittany Ashley and writer, producer and actor Jenny Lorenzo were terminated after appearing in small roles on “Gente-Fied,” a seven-episode web series produced by America Ferrera. “We’re investing heavily in you, and we do ask for a real commitment in return.
