Jon Stewart used the April 22 episode of “The Daily Show” to eviscerate the media for giving way too much attention to Donald Trump’s ongoing hush money trial. The host said the legal battle is both “a test of the fairness of the American legal system” and “a test of the media’s ability to cover Donald Trump in a responsible way.” Stewart determined that the media is failing when it comes to the latter.
Throwing to footage from across cable news networks, including MSNBC host Chris Hayes proclaiming this is “the trial of the century” and various media outlets reporting on Trump’s trips to the courthouse in detail, Stewart fired back: “Perhaps, if we limit the coverage to the issues at hand, and try not to create an all-encompassing spectacle of the most banal of details, perhaps that would help?”
“Seriously, are we going to follow this guy to court every fucking day?...

Margaret Josephs is bashing her Rhonj co-star for cozying up to Teresa Giudice. She does not believe that the relationship is genuine and explains why she feels this way. So, what is Margaret saying about the cast as well as their divide? Keep reading for more details.
Margaret Josephs Bashes Co-Star Cozying Up To Teresa
Teresa Giudice has had issues with many of the Rhonj cast, even those she is close to. Last season, her husband, Luis Ruelas started drama with everyone, saying he had dirt on the entire cast. More so, he alleged that he had hired famed Pi, Bo Dietl to assist him with this mission. Of course, Dietl denied any involvement yet both men were sued this year by one of Ruelas’ exes. One of Teresa’s co-stars whom she has struggled with the most is Margaret Josephs. Margaret is close with Teresa’s estranged sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga and for a time,...

Take-Two, the publishing giant behind the GTA series, is laying off hundreds of staff and cancelling projects in order to save costs.
The eagerly-anticipated GTA 6 is likely to break records when it eventually releases, but that hasn’t stopped its publisher, Take-Two Interactive Software, from making sizeable cuts to its business.
Said cuts came to light in a recent SEC filing dated 16th April (reported by Eurogamer). In it, the company said it plans to reduce its workforce by five percent and “eliminate several projects in development” in order to “enhance the company’s profile while still investing for growth.”
Take-Two has around 11,000 people on its payroll, meaning a five percent cut should equate to losses of about 550 staff. Those cuts, the publisher writes, will result in $165m in “annual cost savings.”
At the time of writing, it isn’t clear what projects are being cut across the development teams under the Take-Two banner.

The 90 Day Fiance claws were out during the recent The Single Life Tell-All between Debbie Aguero and the “Mean Girls,” as she put it. Recently, that energy spilled over into comments on social media, including Debbie firing shots at Veronica Rodriguez. So, what’s the latest?
Debbie Aguero And Debbie Johnson Got Into It At The Single Life Tell-All
It was a showdown of the Debbies at the recent The Single Life Tell-All. Mike Youngquist surprised Natalie Mordovtseva with divorce papers, which Debbie Johnson served Natalie. However, Debbie Aguero had a bone to pick with Mama Debbie over how that situation went down.
Debbie Aguero thought it was a shady move from Debbie Johnson for Mama Debbie to serve Natalie the divorce papers from Mike. This led to the claws coming out, as both Debbies resorted to mud-slinging and hurling insults back and forth at one another.

Debbie Aguero and Debbie Johnson went head-to-head during the 90 Day: The Single Life Season 4 Tell All, leaving viewers divided.
Debbie Aguero, Aka Miss Debbie, was a cast member this season, while Debbie Johnson, Aka Mama Debbie, was a guest alum who offered relationship advice to the cast members.
Neither Debbie was afraid to express themselves during the Tell All, and it didn’t take long for them to get into a senior shouting match.
The height of their argument happened after another 90 Day Fiance guest, Mike Youngquist, showed up to serve divorce papers to his estranged wife, Natalie Mordovtseva.
Interestingly, after years of Natalie refusing to sign the paperwork, Mike opted to have Mama Debbie serve the papers to Natalie on stage during filming.
Miss Debbie considered Mike’s actions to be a “low blow” and felt that he should have served Natalie with the papers somewhere other than on national television.

BioShock creator Ken Levine has shown off some new gameplay details for his upcoming Judas to select outlets, and the old BioShock DNA is unmistakeable.
There’s an awful lot of chat about “narrative Lego” in the various news posts swirling around about Judas, the next game from BioShock designer Ken Levine. It’s a phrase Levine first brought up about a decade ago when he first started talking publicly about his first project since 2013’s BioShock Infinite, and is shorthand for the way Judas uses discrete blocks of plot to construct a unique story for each player.
Over the past few weeks or so, Levine’s new studio, Ghost Story Games, has invited a couple of journalists from big, posh outlets to sample Judas first-hand. Both IGN's Ryan McCaffrey and The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley have made videos in which they interview Ken Levine and play through his ambitious-sounding action-adventure.

You’ve seen Luke Dimyan in shows such as Better Things and the Viaplay original streaming series Home Invasion, but he might have just taken on his most memorable role to date.
In his latest project, Luke bravely tackles the controversial Bible figure Judas Iscariot — yes, the one who betrayed Jesus — in the hit faith-based series, The Chosen.
Born and raised in Torrance, California, in a very close-knit family, the actor has seemingly been preparing for this role his entire life, thanks to his Coptic-Orthodox upbringing.
The Bible was one of the first books and stories he delved into, so he was more than equipped with historical and biblical knowledge years prior.
Monsters and Critics had an insightful chat with Luke about filming the show and what he wants viewers to take away from his character.

Acclaimed actor/writer/director Quentin Tarantino is known for paying homage to classic films in his work, a signature move that he made even in his debut feature, the 1992 heist movie "Reservoir Dogs." The director's films frequently nod to foreign and obscure cinema, offering plenty of Easter eggs for the attentive viewer. A close watch of any of his films might feel like an unbroken string of cinematic references, but sometimes the influence of a single film is so strong that it permeates through the entire movie. Such is the case for "Reservoir Dogs," and the Hong Kong action movie "City on Fire."
The 1987 crime film by director Ringo Lam tells the story of Ko Chow, an undercover cop who is forced to take on another risky job when a fellow policeman is killed by a gang of thieves.

Singer Elle King has postponed a show set for Fort Worth this Friday. It would have been her first concert since her controversial performance during a Dolly Parton tribute at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on January 19.
During that set, King told the audience that she was “hammered” and appeared to be slurring her words onstage. She also forgot the words several times and cursed, the latter a big no-no at the staid Opry.
The Billy Bob’s Texas venue announced via social media Wednesday that the show has been postponed eight months, to Sept. 21. “Original event tickets will be accepted for the new date,” the announcement said. “Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Thank you for your understanding!” Further details were not provided.

The Grand Ole Opry celebrated Dolly Parton’s 78th birthday on Jan. 19 with a night of performances at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Friday. While the country legend herself wasn’t present for the Opry Goes Dolly event, other musicians took the stage to perform her hits in tribute — or at least they were supposed to. Singer-songwriter Elle King derailed the performance by appearing onstage in a seemingly inebriated state: At one point, she admitted to being “hammered” and forgot the words to Parton’s songs during her set.

Elvis Presley‘s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, is not a beloved figure among the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s fans. However, Bob Dylan put up a decent defense of Parker. Here’s a look at what the folk singer had to say about one of the most controversial figures in the music business and how Priscilla Presley seemed to agree with him.
Bob Dylan said fans compared Elvis Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, to Judas Iscariot
In his 2022 book The Philosophy of Modern Song, Dylan discussed Parker’s place in rock ‘n’ roll history. “Among a certain cadre of fans, Colonel Tom Parker is equally reviled for squandering Elvis’ talents in increasingly substandard movies and holding him in stasis in Las Vegas by allowing the Hilton a sweetheart deal to help offset the manager’s staggering gambling debt,” he wrote.

In The Book of Clarence, Jeymes Samuel applies his jocular style — anachronistic music, rapid-fire banter and winking asides — to a Biblical epic that ends up strangely self-conscious when it comes to its comic ambitions. The director’s latest venture whisks audiences off to ancient Jerusalem, where locals grumble about the Romans and circulate news of a Messiah. Rumor has it he calls himself the son of God (something about an Immaculate Conception) and can turn water into wine. He leads a flock of apostles, 12 men devoted to spreading his gospel (they believe all men are born equal). Few people have seen this Jesus, but his existence excites them.
Clarence (Lakeith Stanfield), a peddler whose cocksure attitude shrouds the softer parts of his heart, doesn’t buy it. The claims made on behalf of Jesus are strong. (Walking on water? Really?) God doesn’t exist and you can’t raise the dead,...

While enjoying a deluge of praise for his latest awards contender, Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese is already teasing his next project. Last summer, after attending the Global Aesthetics of the Catholic Imagination conference in Italy, Scorsese said he met with Pope Francis and intended to make a film about Jesus Christ. A portion of Scorsese’s loyal fanbase rejoiced at the idea, and now new details about his plans have come to light. Speaking with the LA Times, the legendary filmmaker says he’s rolling cameras on the film A Life of Jesus later this year.
A Life of Jesus is based on Shūsaku Endō’s book of the same name. The story focuses on a simple and powerful retelling of the life of Christ as seen through the eyes of a Japanese novelist. Kent Jones, a critic, filmmaker, and former mainstay of the New York Film Festival,...

For decades, it wasn't unusual to see two thespians from the same film nominated for Best Supporting Actress, but the same couldn't be said about its brother category. That was until recently when double-dipping in Supporting Actor became fashionable.
It started in 2017, with Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri's Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson. In 2019, it was Joe Pesci and Al Pacino for The Irishman, and then Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeit Stanfield for Judas and the Black Messiah in 2020. The following year, Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee did the honors for The Power of the Dog, while, in 2022, The Banshees of Inisherin got in with Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan. For comparison, in the same period, Supporting Actress only had two such cases, with The Favourite and last year's Everything Everywhere All At Once. Now, the question is whether the trend will continue at the 96th Academy Awards…...

Writer/Director Álex de la Iglesia, co-writing with Jorge Guerricaechevarría, launched a unique biblical horror story in “30 Coins,” unfurling an overarching battle of good versus evil over the powerful set of silver that Judas once received in his betrayal of Jesus. By the inaugural season’s conclusion, the rural town of Pedraza was left devastated, its residents scattered or worse, and our protagonists in dire straits. “30 Coins” Season 2 hits the ground running in the first two episodes screened for critics at Fantastic Fest, plunging viewers into the deep end of Hell as it lays the groundwork for a densely packed season with apocalyptic stakes.
Season 2 picks up immediately where Season 1 ended, with the restored collection of silver scattered once more thanks to the sacrifice of rogue priest Father Vergara (Eduard Fernández). His body gets collected by a black arts practitioner who sets about prepping his body for a resurrection ritual.

Álex de la Iglesia's "30 Coins" is one of the best horror shows of the past decade, one that packs 30 different horror movies into one show that begins with a cow giving birth to a human baby that turns into a spider monster in a small Spanish village. This is de la Iglesia's biggest and best work to date, a super ambitious, hyper-stylized, soaked-in-blood show that stares down at the biggest evils of humanity, at primordial fears, and spits them out covered in blood and guts.
Where season 1 felt a bit more episodic (at first), with different shenanigans plaguing the village building up to something big, season 2 has no time for that. The world is ending, and we have to move soon. In a more ambitious, more visually striking, more urgent season premiere, "30 Coins" expands its plot to encompass multiple locations across the globe (and on different planes of existence!

Where are the Skins cast now? Short answer: absolutely everywhere.
While the show did earn critical acclaim as well as a cult following over the course of its seven series, when this scrappy teen comedy drama launched on E4 in 2007 few could have predicted just how many household names it would spawn.
Among Skins’ impressive alumni are actors who went on to win Oscars and Baftas, play lead roles in hit movies like Slumdog Millionaire and Get Out, not to mention star in hit shows like Game of Thrones and Peaky Blinders.
Let’s take a look at some of the Skins cast’s best roles:

Cat Power has shared two new songs from her upcoming live album, which captures her effort last year to recreate Bob Dylan’s fabled 1966 “Royal Albert Hall”/“Judas” concert in full.

Apple TV+ is back with a highly anticipated new series this September. The Changeling is a horror fantasy that might fill that Servant-shaped hole in your viewing schedule, but having watched all eight episodes of this thing, I reckon you’ll want to go into it with a little warning: it’s really, really good, until it isn’t.
The Changeling features acclaimed Judas and the Black Messiah star Lakeith Stanfield as Apollo Kagwa, who is a god. At least, that’s what he keeps telling us. It gets pretty annoying well before you start losing count of the times he’s said it, and it’s downright infuriating during one particular scene. The used book dealer had a pretty messed up childhood, though, which grants him a decent flow of empathy from us, even when he’s making our blood boil.

Crafted with the sharp edge of a harpoon, King Of Kotha, is a brilliant bloodbath. Bestial and unsparing, it goes through several eras and auras of tansformations of skullduggery with transfixing passion.
Although it is the story of two goons who love to hate each other over a period time, it is Dulquer Salmaan’s Raju that holds the plot’s attention from first to last. With a cigarette swinging from his thick lips and curly hair as wild and untameable as the man himself Dulquer’s Raju comes across an epitome of sinster swag, though I preferred him with less swag in the second-half when he strikes a frightening forlorn figure.

Jamie Foxx apologized for an Instagram post that was accused of being anti-Semitic.
Foxx started off by saying, “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent.”
The actor continued to explain his original comment, “To clarify, I was betrayed by a fake friend and that’s what I meant with ‘they’ not anything more. I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community.”
He ended his statement by asserting, “My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended. Nothing but love always.”

Last night, Jamie Foxx posted a cryptic message on Instagram that was nearly immediately read as antisemitic by many. Foxx wrote, “They killed this dude name Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you?” followed by the hashtags #fakefriends and #fakelove. Hours later, the actor issued an apology to “the Jewish community and everyone offended by my post” and clarified that his post was in reference to a betrayal by a “fake friend.”

[This story contains spoilers for Haunted Mansion.]
Haunted Mansion director Justin Simien wanted to make a Disney movie that wasn’t afraid to challenge younger audiences in the same way that the Disney classics of his youth did. From Bambi’s Mother’s death in Bambi (1942) to Scar murdering Mufasa in The Lion King (1994), Disney has never shied away from heavier subject matters and themes, but in the case of the Haunted Mansion, there was one line that Simien just could not cross.
The lead of Simien’s film is Lakeith Stanfield’s Ben, a former astrophysicist turned paranormal tour guide in New Orleans. Ben’s life hasn’t been the same since his wife, Alyssa (Charity Jordan), died in a car accident, and so the character was originally slated for a rather devastating ending, as opposed to the more upbeat version that’s in theaters now.

[This story contains spoilers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.]
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse star Daniel Kaluuya was, quite literally, born to play Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk. The Oscar winner and his anti-establishment Spider-Man character are both from Camden Town, a borough in North West London, and so Kaluuya’s voice performance in Sony’s smash hit took inspiration from the cast of characters he grew up around in the ‘90s and early 2000s.
Hobie was first introduced as a potential threat to Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), given that he had some form of an intimate relationship with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), but instead of another clichéd love triangle story, Hobie turned out to be the ultimate hero of Across the Spider-Verse. He not only helped Miles Morales escape the clutches of Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac), but he also left his portal watch for Gwen to assemble a team that will hopefully rescue Miles from Earth-42 in 2024’s Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Summer’s tentpole rumble continues this weekend with Paramount’s seventh Transformers movie, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which is heat-seeking $155 million at the worldwide box office for its opening frame, $100M of that offshore.
The movie reps a concentrated reboot by the studio of the long-in-tooth robots-in-disguise franchise, which has suffered in latter installments from declining ticket sales. This is the second Transformers movie not directed by Michael Bay after 2018’s Bumblebee (though Bay still produces), and looks to distinguish itself from the fray with its introduction of the robotic animals from the Hasbro franchise. Creed II director Steven Caple Jr. is at the helm and the movie stars In the Heights’ Anthony Ramos and The Deuce and Judas and the Black Messiah’s Dominique Fishback. The pic cost a net $195M co-financed by Skydance.

The big news about the new Transformers movie (not a sentence I envisioned writing while attending journalism school) is that this seventh installment features the first appearance of the Maximals on the big screen. Whether that information means anything to you or not will determine if you’re the target audience for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, a de facto sequel to 2018’s Bumblebee that features enough rock ‘em, sock ‘em robot action to thrill the faithful while showcasing appealing performances by Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback as the token humans on hand.
The story begins in New York City circa 1994, providing plenty of opportunity for the soundtrack inclusion of classic ‘90s-era hip-hop cuts to complement the thundering score by Jongnic “Jb” Bontemps. We’re introduced to Noah (Ramos, In the Heights), a former Army private and tech wiz trying to make ends meet by setting up illegal cable boxes for his friends.

Coming after 2018's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," which is one of the most inventive animated movies ever made, the new "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is nothing close to a conventional sequel. The eye-popping, mind bending follow-up deconstructs and reinvents the superhero genre in act a joyous act of rebellion that could only be done inside this medium. Live-action comic book fare simply can't compete with groundbreaking animation at this simultaneously inspiring and disruptive level.
For a movie that's perfectly fine with tearing down and rebuilding what came before, "Across the Spider-Verse" carves out its own path in the world of film with unapologetic, reckless teenage abandon. So it's a perfect fit for the Brooklyn born and bred version of Spidey, Miles Morales, on alternate Earth-1610 -- a kid who isn't afraid to break the rules and go his own way.

Production designers had their hands full the past year, recreating everything from an 18th century palace large enough for indoor badminton games to retro kitchens that looked like they were straight out of the 1970s. To achieve their period-accurate sets, they consulted books, photos and guild archives.
For the third season of “The Great,” production designer Francesca Di Mottola a built a “gigantic games room where anything could happen and served many different purposes,” horse breeding among them. The production designer began scouting locations in the U.K., where the black comedy about Catherine the Great is filmed, but none quite fit what she was looking for, so she built the room on a soundstage.
The room, which first appeared in episode 3 of the Hulu series, had high ceilings and paneled walls with timber all around. It needed to be large enough for parties in addition to badminton games and horse breeding.

Travis Knight's joyful 2018 children's fantasy by way of sci-fi adventure film, "Bumblebee," was a breath of fresh air for the live-action "Transformers" movies. It also marked a triumphant return to the Spielbergian formula of Michael Bay's original 2007 film (i.e. a human befriends the lovable puppy dog in Autobot form known as Bumblebee), minus the, well, Bay-isms that make it difficult to give that first movie a full-throated recommendation.
Sadly, nearly a decade of Bay-directed "Transformers" sequels ranging from okay-ish ("Dark of the Moon") to actively terrible (basically the rest of them) had taken its toll on audience interest by that point, resulting in "Bumblebee" becoming the lowest-grossing live-action entry in the franchise to date. As such, the movie's incoming sequel, "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," is tasked with having to further rejuvenate the property while at the same time finding a way to progress its overarching narrative...

[This story contains major spoilers from the series finale of Succession, “With Open Eyes.”]
It’s only been days since the Succession series finale released, so it hasn’t quite hit Nicholas Braun that this is a wrap.
“We’ve been doing it for so long it feels like: Of course we’ll be doing more; I’m sure we have a start date coming up where we’ll be filming again,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter, before coming back down to reality. “That isn’t true. So I’m kind of adjusting to the fact that’s it. I feel so proud of the show and the finale. I just really feel a sense of pride and gratitude about it all.”
Braun, who has played Roy family lackey Cousin Greg on the Emmy-winning HBO series, proved himself to be nothing if not tenacious in his pursuit of power in the end. The final episode, “With Open Eyes,” which was...
