ABC has put in development a fashion drama from Crazy Rich Asians writer Peter Chiarelli, designer Zac Posen (Project Runway), ABC Studios and studio-based Mandeville Television.
Written by Chiarelli, the drama is set in the world of fashion. Chiarelli and Posen executive produce with Mandeville’s David Hoberman, Laurie Zaks and Todd Lieberman. ABC Studios and Mandeville co-produce.
Chiarelli most recently co-wrote the screenplay for New Line’s Crazy Rich Asians, which has grossed nearly $236 million worldwide. His other screenwriting credits include Now You See Me 2 and The Proposal.
Posen served as a judge for six seasons on Project Runway with Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. He was the subject of the documentary, House of Z, chronicling his career, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and he recently released the lookbook for the SS19 Zac Posen Collection, which he is showing through a series of images versus a runway show.

ABC is developing The Hypnotist’s Love Story, a drama series based on the bestselling book by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty. The project hails from Heather Graham (Half Magic), who co-stars and executive produces; writer Katie Wech (Jane the Virgin); ABC Studios; and studio-based Mandeville Television.
Written by Wech, The Hypnotist’s Love Story centers on successful hypnotherapist Ellen, who after a string of failed romances is optimistic about her current boyfriend, until he reveals a disturbing truth: a stalker ex-girlfriend who has been following him for years. Ellen finds herself intrigued, and oddly thrilled by the stalker, entirely unaware that they’ve already met.
It is unclear yet which role Graham would be playing, though it is not expected to be Ellen. Wech and Graham executive produce with David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks of Mandeville Television. ABC Studios is the studio.
Graham has been the driving force behind the project.

In a competitive situation, ABC has landed Family History, giving a put pilot commitment to the drama project from writer Deborah Schoeneman, ABC Studios and studio-based Mandeville Television.
Penned by Schoeneman, the hourling family drama is inspired by the recent explosion in genetic genealogy testing. It follows a young tech reporter in the Bay area whose life changes when she discovers a family secret via a DNA-testing web site. The show explores nature versus nurture and how technology has caught up to our secrets. We may be the last generation to have secrets.
The number of people who have had their DNA analyzed with direct-to-consumer genetic genealogy tests more than doubled during 2017. 1 in 25 American adults now have access to personal genetic data. People use it to track down relatives they didn’t know existed or had lost touch with, and law enforcement use the databases to solve cases,...

CBS has handed out a script commitment for an untitled drama pilot inspired by the life of the famed feminist attorney Gloria Allred.
Both Allred and Deborah Schoeneman ("Girls," "The Newsroom") will executive produce the untitled fictional drama about a fearless, outspoken lawyer who takes on the toughest civil rights cases and is a master at using the media in order to get justice.
Schoeneman will pen the script while Peter Principato and Paul Young will also serve as executive producers.
Allred has represented a number of clients in high-profile cases over the years including Nicole Brown Simpson's family during the O.J. Simpson murder trial, one of the children who accused Michael Jackson of sex abuse, and the family of a murdered transgender teen. She's currently representing at least twenty women who have accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault, harassment and/or sexual misconduct.

The article below contains spoilers for "It's Back," the March 3rd, 2013 episode of "Girls." Season two of "Girls" has been markedly uneven -- the swings in quality and the recently trilogy of episodes centered around characters traveling outside the show's normal universe (to Staten Island, to a hot doctor's brownstone, to upstate New York) suggest a series struggling to figure out what direction to take. Last night's installment, "It's Back," directed by the reliable Jesse Peretz and written by Lena Dunham, Steve Rubinshteyn and Deborah Schoeneman, settled into more familiar territory while coming across as similarly scattershot in terms of the storylines it encompassed. The title could easily be referring to the return of "Girls" to the day-to-day of its characters, though it more directly cites Hannah's (Dunham) obsessive-compulsive disorder flare-up. I can't remember if Hannah's mentioned a history with Ocd before (it seems like the kind of thing she'd toss off in the.

Los Angeles — The CIA thrillers "Argo" and "Zero Dark Thirty" have won top screenplay honors from the Writers Guild of America.

Mark Boal won the prize for original screenplay for "Zero Dark Thirty," director Kathryn Bigelow's chronicle of the CIA's manhunt for al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
Director Malik Bendjelloul won the documentary award for "Searching for Sugar Man," his portrait of acclaimed but largely forgotten 1970s musician Rodriguez.
The guild was the last of Hollywood's major trade unions to weigh in on the year's top films before next Sunday's Academy Awards.

All but Chbosky are also up for the Oscar next weekend, with Beasts of the Southern Wild’s Lucy Alibar and Benh Zeitlin taking that slot.
