After it was announced that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige would be developing a Star Wars film for Lucasfilm, a lot of fans have been wondering and talking about if Feige would actually consider leaving Marvel to focus on making Star Wars.
The thing is, Feige is a huge Star Wars fan. While he obviously loves what he’s been doing with the Marvel films, his first love is Star Wars.
During a 2018 appearance on The Star Wars Show, Feige talked about his love for Star Wars and how his fandom for the franchise was his gateway to Marvel, saying:
“I knew I wanted to work on these types of movies [Marvel movies], mainly because of this movie, [Star Wars]. … I was the kid that kept playing with Star Wars toys maybe a little bit longer than the other kids did? So, I was 10 years old when Jedi came out. I had all of...

Moviegoers who attend screenings of Avengers: Endgame this weekend will see something new: a pre-film message from Tom Holland encouraging them to stick around after the movie to see the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, the July 2 release that picks up the narrative thread after Endgame’s momentous events.
Avengers: Endgame broke from Marvel Studios tradition when it arrived in theaters without a post-credit scene. Those after-film clips have been a Marvel hallmark that tantalized fans with mysterious figures or cryptic glimpses of secret corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now that coda role is being fulfilled in a different way by a full-length trailer — and footage from Far From Home scenes that directly address the life-and-death plot developments of Endgame.
The Sony Columbia Pictures release Spider-Man: Far From Home may be a sleek, state-of-the-art superhero film but it will be connecting with some venerable Hollywood heritage by taking the rare post-film promo position.

It looks like J. Jonah Jameson and The Daily Bugle will finally be introduced into the McU thanks to director Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The new (and unusual) trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home that was released Monday offered the first glimpse of a Marvel superhero since the momentous events of Avengers: Endgame and the result is the biggest digital launch in the history of Sony Pictures Entertainment: 135.2 million views in 24 hours.
The Columbia Pictures franchise starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man already held Sony’s 24-hour record (130 million views) set in January by the Far From Home teaser trailer. Third on the list? That would be the trailer launch for the previous film in the series, Spider-Man: Homecoming (116 million views). That July 2017 film went on to gross $334.2 million domestically and $880.1 million worldwide.
Social conversation volume was also the highest in the studio’s history, topping 1.5M posts in the first 24-hoursAll in all, not bad for a kid from Queens who was turned to crumbling dust last year at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

With the exception of Bruce Wayne, few superheroes boast the same wealth of eye-catching villains as Marvel’s Spider-Man, who has come up against Venom, Electro and everyone in between since Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s Web-Head first appeared in 1962.
More than 50 years later, and the desire for new Spidey adventures is as strong as ever, and one need only look to the rip-roaring success of Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming ($881 million worldwide) as evidence of Peter Parker’s lasting appeal.
Angled as the beginning of a whole new trilogy, one that is expected to span into 2021, Homecoming introduced Tom Holland’s zippy youngster with a real sense of confidence, which only has us all the more excited for the launch of Avengers: Infinity War (first teaser tomorrow, spread the good news!).

After a sterling first solo outing in the McU with Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland’s webslinger is next scheduled to do battle alongside Marvel’s greatest heroes in Avengers: Infinity War. It sounds as if he’s going to swing out of that apocalypse relatively unscathed as well, as Marvel and Sony have already confirmed that we’re going to see a Spider-Man: Homecoming 2. Not only that, but the sequel may also herald the return of a villain from the first film.
Thanks to the special features on the digital release of Homecoming, we have a hint as to which antagonist may be back for more. This comes courtesy of the film’s co-producer, Eric Hauserman Carroll, who speaks on a feature titled Aftermath and said the following:
Going forward, we’re going to have this new expanded view of the universe, We’re going to have this new perspective on the McU.

Early on in Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s exhaustive casting process, it almost became difficult to keep track of all the many Hollywood stars – both young up-and-comers and bona fide veterans – who sealed their place in Marvel and Jon Watts’ imminent reboot.
From Zendaya to Donald Glover, Michael Keaton to Marisa Tomei, Homecoming‘s cast is arguably one of the most impressive ever assembled for a Marvel tentpole – and we’ve only just scratched the surface. After some back-and-forth, Keaton signed on to play Adrian Toomes (Aka The Vulture), the primary villain facing Tom Holland’s sprightly Web-Head.
Equipped with cutting-edge tech pulled from the rubble of the Battle of New York, Toomes heads up a posse of engineers who work together under Damage Control. Soon after their company is shuttered though, Michael Keaton’s big bad plots revenge, and he won’t do so alone. By his side is Michael Chernus as The Tinkerer,...

We've heard time and time again that the classic 1980s teenage John Hughes films heavily inspired director Jon Watts' when developing Spider-Man: Homecoming. The first trailer that was released for the film wonderfully teased that tone, but we've now learned that there's an entire sequence in the film that was inspired by one of the scenes from Hughes' film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which is one of my favorites!
In a recent interview posted by Cinemablend, co-producer Eric Carroll teased the scene, saying that it will be on of the signature sequences in the film:
"They go through this great Ferris Bueller-inspired chase through this neighborhood, where these guys from the Shocker, they got in one good clock. Spider-Man was not expecting that. So they get a jump on him, they tear off, and Spider-Man gives chase. It's a lot of fun. He's running through people's backyards, he's encountering friendly dogs,...

Almost a year has passed since Civil War. We all saw Spider-Man appear on the big screen in the McU, where we wowed and thanked all our gods that something in the cinematic universe worked out for a change. But this has got many people thinking. When exactly will Spider-Man: Homecoming be taking place in the McU? Obviously, it's after Civil War because he's watching clips of himself from the Civil War movie, but if a lot of time has passed, is he ready to graduate? Well, Spider-Man: Homecoming producer Eric Carroll recently made the timeline clear, telling Screen Rant:
“There will be some awkward chronology in that the movie comes out almost two years after Civil War, but we’re playing it like it’s a few months after Civil War. It hasn’t been years since Tony called him back. It came down to one of things we...

The chronology of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films as a whole has been pretty straightforward. By and large, they tend to take place one after another in the same order as they were release. Of course, there are some exceptions. Captain America: The First Avenger was obviously a period piece, taking place decades prior to the rest of the Avengers’ origin stories (though it picked up right before The Avengers and after Thor, which puts it cleanly where one would expect in the timeline).
Other than that one, perhaps the only questionable film is Doctor Strange, which sometimes seems to take place around The Avengers, and sometimes feels like it starts off around the time of Captain America: Civil War, which brings into question how long everything took to happen in the film itself. That’s neither here nor there, but the point is that for the most part, the...

In the comics, Spider-Man and Daredevil have worked alongside each other quite a bit. They share quite a few villains, specifically the Kingpin being one of both heroes bigger villains. They both work heavily on the streets of NYC. So naturally many people have wondered if Spider-Man and Daredevil would ever team up in the future in the McU. Well, recently co-producer of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Eric Carroll, said he would be interested in having them meet up somehow. He was quoted in an interview with Cinemablend about if we might see Daredevil in Homecoming and he had this to say:
"Daredevil's not specifically referenced in this movie, no. I think that's something we all think would be really fun, and it's definitely a card I would love to see played, if not sooner rather than later. But as of now, it's not referenced in this movie."
Now, there have...

Marvel has already teased the high-tech upgrade to Peter Parker's wardrobe in this summer's Spider-Man: Homecoming, but it turns out that Tony Stark's version of the Spider-costume has many more bells and whistles than might be expected.
The movie's co-producer Eric Carroll revealed to IGN that the costume will come with its own artificial intelligence, similar to the ones used by the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Iron Man. Described as a "voice 'inside' Peter Parker's head," the unnamed A.I. will reportedly be the source of some humorous misunderstandings as Parker gets used to his new duds. No...

In case you were wondering how much of Iron Man you'll see in Spider-Man: Homecoming, you'll see him quite a bit. Producer Eric Carroll tells Screen Rant that Stark has around 5 or 6 scenes with Peter Parker...which sounds like more than enough to establish a decent bond between the characters! Carroll elaborates more on that bond below:
“I think we’re seeing the beginning of a sort of father-son relationship. Obviously Tony hasn’t got any kids, and Peter at this point hasn’t got any male figures in his life, so I think there’s a really lovely dynamic that Robert and I are forming. And, no, let me take that back. I think Robert is more like a big brother than he is a father figure because he picks on him and he is down on him quite a lot. But then there is that level of him...

If you think you know everything about what Spider-Man's suit is capable of in Spider-Man: Homecoming, you'd be wrong. We've got some cool new details to share with you regarding his suit thanks to executive producer Eric Carroll, who talked to /Film during their set visit.
We've already seen a few things like the web-wings and the spider-tracer and more, but that seems like it's just a little taste of what this sucker can do. Carrol reveals the suit has a voice operating system like Jarvis built into the suit, which is pretty damn cool! Carrol explains:
“Probably most notably, it starts talking to him, and he goes, ‘Oh, this is weird.’ And he starts asking it stuff, but he’s not super slick or Tony Stark smart, who invented the Os and did all this. He’s a kid. So he’s like, ‘Um, how do I get to where that thing is?...

Due to the lack of references on both sides, you may not even remember that the Marvel Netflix shows are a part of the same Marvel Cinematic Universe as Marvel Studios' Avengers series of films. Sure, civilians on the different shows love to reference "the incident," but why didn't anyone recruit the "Devil of Hell's Kitchen" as a teammate in Captain America: Civil War? Isn't Luke Cage a more valuable asset than Hawkeye? Is Iron Man not upset Iron Fist stole half of his name (surely Tony Stark has a copyright on "Iron")? As for Jessica Jones, well, she wouldn't play well with others.
To be fair, aside from Doctor Strange, the recent films in the McU haven't spent any notable time in New York City, home to these Netflix heroes who will become The Defenders later this year. But with Spider-Man not only operating in their city, but...

In the past fifteen years, we’ve seen six big screen appearances from Spider-Man with three different actors in the role. The seventh will be this July’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, and just like Captain America: Civil War glossed over Uncle Ben’s fate, it sounds like this solo outing for the wall-crawler will do the same.
For those of you unfamiliar with the character (which, admittedly, is unlikely after seeing his death play out so many times in the movies), Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben was killed by a burglar who the youngster let escape earlier that same evening despite having the powers to stop him. From there, the hero decided to live by his uncle’s motto of “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility,” a line which defines him as a superhero.
From the sounds of it, Spider-Man: Homecoming won’t be delving too much into that key moment in the wall-crawler’s life,...

The Spider-Man: Homecoming blowout continues unabated and after bringing you details on Michael Keaton’s Vulture and how Stark’s tech factors into the story, we now have some juicy tidbits relating to the film’s opening sequence.
Per Coming Soon, Homecoming‘s executive producer Eric Carroll offered up some context to how Jon Watts’ rebooted origin story will begin on July 7th and, perhaps more excitingly, how it bridges the gap from Captain America: Civil War. Last time we checked in on Tom Holland’s sprightly Web-Head, he had his heart set on joining the Avengers, but in adopting the ‘cool uncle’ mantle, Tony Stark was quick to quash those dreams – for now, at least – by telling Parker to focus on life in Queens.
And so we arrive at the beginning of Spider-Man: Homecoming. But as Carroll reveals to ComingSoon, we begin with a flashback to the fallout from Joss Whedon’s Avengers movie,...

I've got some new details to share with you regarding Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming. These details offer us information on how the film begins and how is all ties in with the McU. If you don't want to know how director Jon Watts is starting this movie off, I suggest you don't read any further.
The following information comes from Comingsoon.net, who had a chance to visit the set of the film. The beginning of the story takes us back to 2012 after the events of the attack on New York in the first Avengers film. It's at this point that Michael Keaton's villainous character Adrian Toomes comes into play with his salvaging company, which is in charge of clean-up. That is until the Department of Damage Control comes in to make things difficult. The site explains:
"The film literally begins in the shadow of Stark Tower, now with its trademark 'A' still hanging on.

Back in the 2008 film, Iron Man, leading man Tony Stark certainly spent a lot of time in his workshop creating what we now know as the iconic Iron Man suit. With the exception of Pepper Potts, Stark pretty much kept to himself in a lot of those scenes, and perhaps the one big saving grace of it all was the smart-aleck A.I. Stark created to help fuel his home. That A.I. was named Jarvis, and was the result of some creative license to update Stark’s Butler of the same name. Jarvis also took up residence in Stark’s suit for the longest time, before he turned into the sentient being, Vision.
Stark has since replaced the voice in his own suit, but don’t think that an A.I. will be exclusive to only his. As we know, Stark is the man responsible for Spider-Man’s own suped-up suit,...

Aside from being blown away by the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming and possibly being spoiled a little more than we’d have liked, one element that stood out was that of Iron Man’s involvement. Continuing a thread first established last year in Captain America: Civil War, it looks like we can expect Tony Stark to serve as a bit of a mentor figure for Peter Parker as he hits the superhero learning curve.
One benefit of knowing Tony that I think we can all agree on is getting a serious technological upgrade. Although I’m a bit apprehensive when it comes to the idea of a genius such as Peter needing someone to make a suit for him, it does kind of make sense that this version of Spidey might need some assistance due to the fact that he’s strapped for cash, to put it mildly.

For all of the critical acclaim garnered by the Marvel Cinematic Universe – not to mention the record-shattering box office cume – the one common complaint often directed at the studio’s intricate body of films is that Marvel tends to fumble its villains. Loki notwithstanding, you’d struggle to identify another well-rounded antagonist that struck a chord with the viewers. But director Jon Watts is hoping to change all that with the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
And though previous Spider-Man movies have introduced the likes of Doctor Octopus, Electro and Green Goblin (twice) to the moviegoing masses, Watts and Co. have elected Vulture to be the primary villain of Spider-Man: Homecoming – and the Powers That Be cast a bona fide Hollywood A-lister in Michael Keaton. So far, so good. Vulture may not be the most iconic villain to come out of Spidey’s rogues gallery, but Homecoming‘s pair of trailers...

Some intriguing new details have surfaced regarding Michael Keaton's The Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming along with a new photo, thanks to USA Today. Earlier we got a brief new trailer tease announcing a new trailer that will be released tomorrow. While you wait for that, Director Jon Watts and Keaton talk about The Vulture.
Talking about the villain, Watts explains that he wanted to show off a different dynamic of the McU and give us some insight into what it's like for someone to be a regular guy in a world full of powerful heroes. He explains:
“My whole approach for this movie is that we’ve seen the penthouse level of the (Marvel) universe. We’ve seen what it’s like to be a billionaire inventor and to be a Norse god. We’ve seen the very top of this world. But we’ve never seen what it...

The good news just keeps coming for Spidey fans. After unveiling our first official peek at an unmasked Peter Parker, Marvel has announced that tonight will see the release of not one, but two teaser trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming – a domestic one premiering via Jimmy Kimmel Live, along with an international sizzle reel boasting “a few different shots and lines of dialogue.”
Word comes by way of USA Today, where Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige confirmed that, yes, those pining for Homecoming footage ought to have plenty to chew on before the day is over.
“The first trailers will be unveiled online Thursday night — one domestic (premiering on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!) and one international. with a few different shots and lines of dialogue between them. ‘Enough where I thought it would be fun for people to see both.”

While we continue to wait with bated breath for our first look at Marvel and Sony's Spider-Man: Homecoming tonight, some new details on the film have arrived via USA Today. While action and excitment will no doubt compose a large part of the film, star Tom Holland sees Homecoming as less of an action film and "more a character piece about this kid who's struggling to talk to girls and also struggling to save the city." As evidenced in previous interviews, the film will kick off with Peter Parker returning to his normal life in Queens after his major battle in this summer's Captain America: Civil War, a secret the young Peter will struggle with. “He literally just went to Europe with the coolest clique of them all," said co-producer Eric Hauserman Carroll. “And now he’s back with the academic decathlon and the mathletes and going, ‘What am I doing here?...
