The sci-fi genre has always been one of the most beloved among cinephiles as it gives us a new look at a particular technology or our world. There was a time when Max (formerly known as HBO Max) was the place for peak sci-fi shows but after taking off Westworld and Raised by Wolves from the service, and since then it has been lacking a bit regarding sci-fi shows. But still, we picked the seven best sci-fi shows that we could find on Max.

Hours after Joe Biden said that he had to be more aggressive in debates, he made a swipe at Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s lawyer and a primary trafficker in claims and conspiracy theories about Biden and his son, Hunter.
“The guy’s a thug, Giuliani. No, he’s a thug. I know him,” Biden told about 100 people gathered at the Brentwood home of Paramount’s Jim Gianopulos and his wife, Ann.
According to a pool report, Biden continued, “And the president is the most dishonorable president in American history. And folks, he picked the wrong guy to pick a fight with, because I’ll tell you what. I’m going to beat him like a drum.”
The event at the Gianopulos home on Thursday evening was Biden’s second fundraiser of the day. Earlier, he spoke at the home of producer Michael Lombardo and his husband, Sonny Ward,...

One of the most memorable moments in the spirited second Democratic debate was when California Sen. Kamala Harris shut-down all nine of her rivals with her “food fight” zinger. The former U.S. Ambassador to Germany, John B. Emerson, and his wife, Kimberly Marteau Emerson, will host the evening reception for Kamala Harris For the People in their Los Angeles home. The price to attend is a donation of $1,000 for supporter status or $2,800 for sponsor level.
Co-hosts for the event include Oscar-winning The Lord of The Rings filmmaker Peter Jackson; television producer Debra Martin Chase (Zoe Ever After); actress Scarlett Byrne (Harry Potter films); Cooper Hefner of Playboy Enterprises; retired U.S. Ambassador Crystal Nix-Hines; former Ticketmaster CEO Fred Rosen; attorney...

It's been seven years since Evanna Lynch said goodbye to Harry Potter, but the franchise is still near and dear to her heart. During her appearance on Dancing With the Stars this season, the Irish actress has given a handful of sweet nods to the magical films. In addition to getting the support of her former costars during the show, she even danced to the Harry Potter theme song as she recounted her most memorable year. While Lynch is, of course, so much more than just Luna Lovegood, she is still incredibly grateful to have that as her legacy.
"I'm so proud to be part of that universe," she told Popsugar. While she admitted there is always a pressure when you complete a big franchise to reestablish yourself and move on, for her it's been about merging those two worlds. "For me, Dancing With the Stars has been a perfect example of merging it,...

Tinashe got the boot on Week 4 of “Dancing with the Stars” despite having the second highest score of the night. But, as of press time, she definitely is not in the top two when it comes to YouTube views. Numbers were down overall this week — compared to last week when six couples had more than 100,000 plays — since it was just trios and not a bunch of reach-for-the-Kleenex sob stories.
Again, some caveats:
1. Needless to say, not everyone who watches a contestant’s dance on YouTube is voting and vice versa.
2. Not every star or dance is created equal. Some people already come in with major notoriety and a fan base, which could boost views. Some pros have a bigger fan base than the stars they’re teaching. Some people accrue fans as the season progresses. Sometimes a performance is just flat-out amazing or a complete hot mess or meme-worthy that...

This week on “Dancing with the Stars” each couple performed a trio routine with a “DWTS” alum or a special celebrity guest. A new Mirror Ball front-runner may have emerged, as Disney star Milo Manheim along with her pro partner Witney Carson and trio partner Riker Lynch brought down the house with an electrifying salsa. The routine was just one point shy of a perfect score.
But as one star rose another was shockingly snuffed out: R&B star Tinashe and her partner Brandon Armstrong were unfairly booted despite topping the leaderboard in the first two weeks of the competition. With her out of the running, which of the remaining celebs will rise to the occasion and pose a serious threat to win the season?

Going into week four of “Dancing with the Stars” season 27, there were 10 couples remaining. But it’s been a challenging month in the ballroom for all of the celebs, so this week they got a little extra help. Monday, October 15 was Trios Night, during which the celebs and their pro partners were each joined by a special guest. So was three a lucky number for the contestants, or was three a crowd? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
Those special guest dancers were mostly past “DWTS” contestants: Amy Purdy, Riker Lynch, Rashad Jennings, Lindsey Stirling, Melissa Rycroft, Joey Fatone and Nastia Liukin. The other three were a reality TV dance star (Maddie Ziegler), a “Bachelor in Paradise” alum (Jordan Kimball) and “Harry Potter” actress Scarlett Byrne. See the full list of trio partnerships here.

It takes three to tango on “Dancing with the Stars” — and to cha-cha, paso doble, salsa, Argentine tango and Charleston. Week 4 is Trio Week, but with a twist this time. While pros and troupe members have joined couples in the past, the show is bringing in former contestants, “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” contestant Maddie Ziegler (as previously announced), and two people who have absolutely nothing to do with the show whatsoever.
Scarlett Byrne, who played Pansy Parkinson in the “Harry Potter” films, will team with her former co-star Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe for their salsa, while “Bachelor in Paradise” star Jordan Kimball will hit the hardwood with Grocery Store Joe and Jenna Johnson for their salsa. Stay thirsty, ABC.
Former champs Melissa Rycroft and Rashad Jennings, and alums Nastia Liukin, Linsdsey Stirling, Riker Lynch, Joey Fatone and Amy Purdy are the past contestants who’ll take another step on the dance floor.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince actress Scarlett Byrne appears in the first issue of Playboy to feature nudes since the magazine banned them a year ago, and it appears someone has torn off her clothes. Though no magic was used in this photo shoot (we assume), it's safe to say the actress certainly didn't mind letting fans know that #NakedIsNormal. In one black-and-white photo Byrne, who played Pansy Parkinson in the wizarding world, stands on staircase in front of a gorgeous window wearing but a black top. She stares seductively into the camera, leaving little to the imagination as she puts her bare butt on display. In another black-and-white photo shared on...

Her decision to pose for Playboy might seem surprising, but her ties to the magazine run deep.

Today, Clark Kent and Lois Lane are celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary. It was on October 6, 1996 that Dean Cain’s Clark and Teri Hatcher’s Lois got married in an episode of “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.” Three days later, DC Comics released “Superman: The Wedding Album” (an issue with a cover date of December 1996). It was the first time Lois and Clark got married in the comics for realsies. Only took them 58 years. Previous weddings had ended with “it was all a dream” or the like. Here’s the TV wedding moment that aired 19 years ago. Savor that ’90s cheese. Other notable October 6 happenings in pop culture history: • 1847: “Jane Eyre” was published, at the time bearing the pseudonym Currer Bell. • 1927: The first feature-length film with synchronized dialogue, “The Jazz Singer” held its premiere in New York City, scheduled to coincide with Yom Kippur, the Jewish...

There will be a few new faces in Mystic Falls when The Vampire Diaries begins its seventh season in just three weeks, as Lily (Annie Wersching) and her Heretic family cause widespread chaos, forcing Stefan, Damon, Caroline, and Bonnie to have to step in to stop them. Two of Lily’s Heretic family members are Mary Louise and Nora (played by Teressa Liane and Scarlett Byrne), a same-sex couple that has been forced to hide their relationship for most of their lives. However, now that the two of them are together in the 21st century, which is obviously more accepting and tolerant than the early 1900s (the last time they were together before being trapped in the prison world), they can finally be out in public and show who they truly are and how much they truly care for one another. The video below features our first look at Mary Louise and Nora together…...
