xBox Studios is working hard to make themselves compete with steaming media giants like Netflix. That of course means creating their own series is the first step in competing and that is exactly what they are doing. xBox Studios is reportedly working on a comedy show called East Of Exurbia. It is loosely based on a story that is considered bro-fiction about three friends who find themselves as trouble makers on hill that is a supernatural portal. It will be written by Nick Kreiss and Ian Wolterstorff.
This show sounds exactly like what we would expect from xBox. They have made it clear that they aim for guys mostly and it could very well end up being a guy’s kind of service. However, that is also putting them in a box when they could aim for something such as Hulu and Netflix that offers something for everyone. I guess...

On the heels of unveiling an expansive slate of video game adaptations, drama, comedy, reality, animation and event series, I’ve learned that xBox Studios has put another project in development, scripted comedy East Of Exurbia. Written by Nick Kreiss and Ian Wolterstorff, the project revolves around three guys who try to build a bastion of bro-fueled debauchery in a house that happens to be situated on top of a magical portal to other worlds. The show, inspired by “one of the worst roommate stories ever told,” which originally appeared on BroBible.com, comes from Five All in the Fifth Entertainment and Avalon, with Five All’s Doug Banker and Avalon’s David Martin and Dan Lubetkin executive producing. Kreiss, Wolterstorff and Banker are repped by CAA and Underground, Avalon is repped by Gersh.

And so the post-Damon-Wayans-Jr. "New Girl" reveals itself...
With the pilot star committed to the second season of ABC's "Happy Endings," Lamorne Morris' made his first appearance as Coach replacement Winston.
Winston's introduction is a relative non-event, with the episode choosing to focus on Jess (Zooey Deschanel) getting her stuff back from philandering ex-boyfriend Spencer (Ian Wolterstorff), her "Kryptonite", according to the episode title.
Upon first meeting, Winston doesn't make as big of a contribution in the plucky humor department as Jess, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Nick (Jake Johnson), but he does serve a vital role on "New Girl": the straight man.
With no sign of the series easing up on the quirk, somebody needs to be a tad normal.
And that definitely wouldn't be Spencer. The manipulative, scrunchy-wearer was hoarding Jess' belongings while her grieving for their relationship kept her from taking them back -- until she...
