Apparently loosely inspired by classic TV shows such as The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits, Shahin Sean Solimon’s latest magnum opus is Nebulous Dark; a sci-fi action thriller that tells the story of a man waking up from a deep sleep to discover that he is the last man on earth and there are new “tenants”.
Written, directed, and starring Shahin Sean Solimon, whose film Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage we reviewed a few years ago, Nebulous Dark is – frankly – a mess. Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage follows the story of Sinbad (Shahin Sean Solimon, who also co-wrote, directed, and was executive producer for this atrocity) the Sailor who fell in love with the Sultan’s daughter, Zoreh (Lorna Raver). While Sinbad doing his sailing thing, the Sultan throws a pre-wedding party for Zoreh involving a magician able to summon demons amongst other things. However, more despicable plans are afoot, and the magician aka The Deev (Said Faraj) freezes everyone and takes Zoreh for himself. Only Sinbad can save her.

Growing up as a child of the Seventies, I can distinctly remember sitting in amazement watching flicks like The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts and marveling at their many beasts. Filmmaker Shahin Sean Solimon remembers too as he's cooked up a loving homage.
Below you'll find the first trailer for Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage starring the talents of Patrick Stewart, Lorna Raver, Shahin Sean Solimon, and Said Faraj. Look for more on this one as it comes.

Beating Chuck Russell’s Sinbad movie to the punch, Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage follows Sinbad as he embarks on his fifth voyage to save Princess Parisa from an evil sorcerer.
According to filmmakers Giant Flick Films, the movie is inspired by the works of Ray Harryhausen and the epic films of yesteryear. Sinbad himself is played by Persian-American actor Shahin Sean Solimon and the cast also features a “surely he must be doing this as a favour (or a Huge paycheck)” Patrick Stewart (X-Men, St:tng)…
Looks terrible. But you have to give the filmmakers props for using stop-motion and not CGI.

Hollywood has been trying to make a new Sinbad movie for a while, with both Rob Cohen (Fast and the Furious) and Adam Shankman (Hairspray) attempting to bring the character to the big screen. But where they failed, Giant Flick Films succeeded by making an extremely low-budget film called "Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage," starring Patrick Stewart (X-Men) and a bunch of terrible stop-motion creatures. And in preparation of its January 1st, 2011 release date (straight-to-dvd?), the movie has unveiled an official trailer. Check it out below. Plot: When the Sultan's first born is taken by an evil sorcerer, Sinbad (Shahin Sean Solimon) is tasked with traveling to a desert of magic and creatures to save her. This is one of those puzzling projects about which almost no information exists, but that I'm strangely excited about. Like many of you (probably not Dustin, since he has no soul), I've got incredibly fond memories of the old genre films featuring the effects of master stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen, creator of Dynamation. The most memorable ones are the original, non-shitty Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts, Mighty Joe Young, and The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. That last one is probably my favorite, and it's also the reason I'm curious about Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage.
Developed by Giant Film Flicks and directed by David Winning (who has a series of SyFy movies to his name), it's also narrated by Patrick Stewart and stars Shahin Sean Solimon as the titular Sinbad. It claims to be inspired by The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, a compilation of Middle Eastern folk tales,...
