Vaja was featured in Variety Magazine with Depeche Mode regarding her new hit single. Blending electronic and cinematic rock, she captures the essence of her unique style. Oscar nominated / award-winning composer Steve Horner and Vaja have joined forces to create a masterpiece.
The theme of the film is based on a futuristic dystopia cyberpunk world. The cityscape and desert transforms into a beautiful array of colors, symbolizing unity.
Vaja was inspired by the original Blade Runner (1982) and Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) classic films, which ignited her passion for telling her unique story about living in a world full of different people in a society that challenges individuality and race.
Visually and emotional scenes resonate with those who see the beauty of diversity, empathy and the universal bond that connects us all.
Vaja was born in Tacoma, Washington then grew up in Carmel, Indiana, to her African-American Father, a military full Colonel in the Army, and her Asian/Hawaiian mother. At an early age, her mother took her to see Depeche Mode & Metallica perform. Mesmerized by this experience ignited her passion for Electronic & Rock Music.
Vaja received a Soccer scholarship at Stetson University in Deland, Florida, but realized she wanted to focus more on her music & film career. She trained at prominent acting schools: The Valencia Character Company in Orlando, Florida, Stella Adler Conservatory for Actors & Carter Thor Studio in Los Angeles, CA. Traveling gave her a wealth of experiences and diverse personalities to draw upon while developing her acting skills.
In 2007, Vaja released her critically acclaimed Debut EP "Awakened By Silence" feat. drummer Adrian Young of No Doubt. She's headlined the House of Blues & Viper Room and Vaja has posters in Guitar Centers across the nation. Joel Selvin, Sr. Pop Music Critic, San Francisco Chronicle quoted Vaja as, "A bronze goddess with a big guitar & a voice that cuts like a knife."
Director Paul W.S. Anderson offered Vaja to be the "Voice of the Umbrella Corporation" in the 3D sci-fi action feature film Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) starring Milla Jovovich.
In 2014, Vaja released her debut single/music video Vaja: We found Love (2013) and next single "A Part Of Me" with Specialist Sound on Suspended Motion Records (UK).
Vaja & Serenity released their One Nation EP (2015): "One Nation" & "Fight For Me" via Record Label Dirty Duck Audio.
In 2017, Vaja became the Host of the YouTube Channel & App Music Totally Obsessed (MusicTO).
Vaja sang the National Anthem twice at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the NBA's LA Lakers & WNBA's LA Sparks during 4th of July.
