5 years in the (and 3 years after we first covered it) making, Colin Fleming and John Garside retro sci-fi homage to showreel Sci-fi - Max Neptune and the Menacing Squid - has finally been completed. Described by its creators as “A live action Sci-fi adventure, based on the old 50’s serials such as ‘Flash Gordon’ and Commando Cody," the finished Neptune looks like pure escapists, entertaining nonsense of the highest order. And therefore, of course, makes it worthy of a re-mention. Its looks like they havnt yet been able to secure a full distribution deal, but you can pick up a copy on DVD from the movies official site. Synopsis: Earth has found itself in the crosshairs of a distant race of marauding space aliens! With the peace and security of the entire universe teetering on the edge of chaos, the United Planets rush their greatest leaders to an emergency summit on the Earth's Moon.
