- James comes from a fine art background and discovered filmmaking whist studying at Chelsea College of Art. He graduated with a foundation diploma in art & design majoring in film and then completed a three year BA(Hons) Film & Video degree at the Skillset Screen Academy London College of Communication, part of the University of Arts London. Whilst on the course he worked as a Director, Cinematographer, Production Designer, Assistant Director and Producer. A film he directed on the course won the MTV 'Show Us What You're Made of' Award in February 2009. At university he was lucky to study under Jack Garfein, director and teacher for the original Actors Studio, who taught him how to act and how interpret a script.
James has experience using Standard Definition, High Definition video as well 16mm and 35mm film formats. He trained on the Guild of British Camera Technicians 35mm and HD course, which helped him learn his craft. After university he reached the final twelve out of hundreds of applicants in the Film London/Tri Borough film scheme 'New Pathways'. Showing a great work ethic on the course, the Executive Producer suggested he should produce the funded film 'Borderland'. This film went on to be premiered at the East End Film festival but missed out narrowly for a Film London 'Best of Boroughs' film nomination.
Most recently James has been working as a Director of Photography on numerous shorts and a feature film.- IMDb Mini Biography By: James Fisher
