Stars: Bruce Willis, Michael Rooker, Vadhir Derbez, Olga Kurylenko, Michael Rose, John Malkovich, Lauren Buglioli | Written by Jesse V. Johnson, Erik Martinez, Katharine Lee McEwan | Directed by Jesse V. Johnson
Jesse V. Johnson may well be the best director of action films working today. And his latest film, White Elephant may be Bruce Willis’s best chance to add another memorable to his list of credits. Or at least one that’s memorable for the right reasons.
Gabriel Tancredi is an enforcer working for Arnold (Bruce Willis). They have Carlos deal with a rival who won’t negotiate. He handles the matter, but a pair of cops, Vanessa and her partner see him making his escape. Arnold gives Gabriel and Carlos forty-eight hours to take care of that problem. And they get half the job done quickly and easily. But finishing it off may be more work than they expected.

Stars: Nina Bergman, Louis Mandylor, Daniel Bernhardt, Timothy V. Murphy, Dominiquie Vandenberg, Charles Fathy | Written by Katharine Lee McEwan, Romain Serir | Directed by Jesse V. Johnson
English playwright William Congreve wrote that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned back in 1697. Now Jesse V. Johnson and writers Katharine Lee McEwan (Solitary) and Romain Serir (The Girl with Two Faces) are out to prove it’s still true with Hell Hath No Fury, a World War II set story of a woman forced to fight against both sides in order to survive.
World War II is drawing to a close and Marie is about to receive summary justice as a collaborator. She wasn’t, but that’s besides the point. She’s saved from them by a quartet of American G.I.s led by Major Maitland. They’re not doing it out of a sense of justice though, it...

Alien Armageddon is the latest alien invasion flick that has its eyes on Los Angeles for some reason. Why’s all the aliens want to go to L.A.? Anyway, the movie starts off with a bang, lots of cool special effects and action scenes and then slowly fades into a plain movie that sometimes gets confusing.
The movie follows a female who gets abducted and held in the alien concentration camp, or whatever you call it. She meets up with other captives and they share stories. They watch the aliens and their behavior to learn how to take advantage of them and their few weaknesses and learning some surprising secrets while doing so.
Director Neil Johnson threw in so many puking scenes that it’s really noticeable and ridiculous and that’s not all but I wont go in to that. The special effects are the standouts of the movie,...

*full disclosure: a screener of this film was provided by Phase 4 Films.
Director/writer: Neil Johnson.
Cast: Katharine McEwan, Don Scribner, Rochelle Vallese and DeeDee Bigelow.
Here is another entry into the alien invasion film genre with Alien Armageddon. This film follows Neil Johnson's previous film titled Nephilim (2007). This title recently had a World Premiere through video-on-demand August 1st. Phase 4 Films released this title and this reviewer wishes they had not. Perhaps the low production values did not deliver the film's message adequately. However, one message is clear to this film reviewer: Alien Armageddon is a really poor executed film. This film is one half prison drama and one half sci-fi melodrama. Neither of these genres really create much enthusiasm over here at 28Dla. So, in the end, Alien Armageddon introduces a new alien species with some weak acting, poorly dressed sets and an Anglo-Norma plotline that has been done better,...

There is another alien invasion film set in Los Angeles, which is set for a theatrical release July 6th. The title is Alien Armageddon and the synopsis sounds strangely like Battle: Los Angeles and also The Asylum's knock-off Battle of Los Angeles. Skyline could also be lumped in with these films and this reviewer is starting to get the sense that certain Los Angeles filmmakers want the City of Angels to burn to the ground. With the financial setbacks for S.E.T.I. (Search for Extraterrestrial Life), director Neil Johnson will have to wait a little longer for Los Angeles to crumble and burn under alien attack. For now, sci-fi fans with similar interests to Johnson, can have their wish fulfillment somewhat satisfied by visiting the Crest Theatre in Westwood July 6th, to watch Alien Armageddon on the big screen!

We will probably see many of these kind of films coming our way thanks to the popularity of Battle: Los Angeles. Up next is Alien Armageddon and judging by the stills and poster, hey it could be a lot of cheesy sci-fi fun! Morphius Films will be bringing us the movie that is directed, written and produced by Neil Johnson and will star stars Virginia Hey, Katharine McEwan, Ben Cain, Claudia Wells and Julia Parker. Dig on the poster up top and the cool stills below and let us know what you think!
Short Plot:
When the world is invaded by an ancient race of aliens, the city of Los Angeles is fortified as an alien stronghold. The only way to fight is from within.
