We are Legion. The complex X-Men character is headed to FX to star in his own show. The son of Professor Charles Xavier and British ambassador to Israel Gabrielle Haller, Legion — birth name David Charles Haller — is an interesting mutant. When your father is one of the most powerful telepaths in the world, you can expect to inherit some of that. But without a mentor, things can quickly get out of hand. First reported by The Hollywood Reporter FX has found their Legion in Dan Stevens. Fans of the costume drama Downton Abbey will recognize the actor as the late Matthew Crawley. Casting Stevens implies Legion will focus on the character’s adult life, either glossing over his tumultuous teen years or utilize flashbacks. Diagnosed as schizophrenic at a young age, David is a haunted man, trying to find his way back to sanity, but he's getting tired and is...

The fall festival rush is upon us. Locarno is currently ramping up. Venice has released their line-up and Thom Powers and the Toronto International Film Festival team have dropped a bomb with a previously unannounced new feature from powerhouse docu-provocateur Michael Moore. It is truly a miracle that the production of a film such as Moore’s upcoming Where To Invade Next (see still above) managed to go completely undetected by the filmmaking community until it was literally announced to world premiere at one of the largest film festivals in the world. Programmed as a one of the key films in the Special Presentations section at Tiff, the film sees Moore telling “the Pentagon to ‘stand down’ — he will do the invading for America from now on.” Also announced to premiere at Tiff was Avi Lewis’ This Changes Everything, which has slowly been rising up this list, as well as...

The Voice UK coaches are filling up those teams now - and each space is becoming more and more valuable. Still, eight acts managed to make it through to the next round in tonight's episode.
It wasn't all good news - we had to say goodbye to Alex David Charles, Harris Hameed, Kate Flynn, Nathan Moore and, of course, Krazy Horse - but we will be seeing more of the lucky few who managed to convince the coaches to turn for them. But who are you most looking forward to seeing again?
Let us know who you enjoyed tonight by voting in our poll and leaving your comments below...

Well, tonight's episode (February 7) of The Voice UK was very illuminating - and we're not just talking about Rita Ora learning all sorts of things from Sir Tom Jones, or will.i.am opening up about his lack of muscles. Nope - while all of that was very interesting, we also got to know which eight new acts have made it through to the blind auditions.
But who made the biggest impression? Who will we be excited to see again in the upcoming battle rounds? Read on as we assess the auditions from tonight's episode of The Voice...
1. Vikesh Champaneri
Song: 'Hometown Glory' - Adele
Team: Team Ricky (Sir Tom and Rita also turned)
Maybe it was just the song? Maybe - but we don't think so. Vikesh - a booker for posh taxis - took to the stage and completely blindsided us with his incredible take on 'Hometown Glory'.

We're not sure how it's happened, but we're already approaching the fifth week of blind auditions and those teams are getting rather full - which makes it even harder for the hopeful acts to impress the coaches!
There are 13 auditionees hitting the stage this weekend, and if you want more information about the baker's dozen of contestants - including, er, which one is a baker - then read on for all of the info...
1. Newtion Matthews - 30, London
Song: 'Who Did That To You?' - John Legend
What you need to know: Newtion left home when he was a teenager to pursue a music career, but when he struggled he ended up homeless for a couple of months. He also had a Warner Records deal that didn't work out - but he did perform at the Globe with former The Voice act Matt Henry!
2. Hannah Wildes - 24, Kent

Turkey or no turkey, these next couple of days lucky filmmakers who’ve been selected to screen as part of the Sundance Film Festival will get the invitation notice straight from John Cooper and the Park City programming team, and thus, those that we’re betting have made the cut have also inched up the list a bit. One of those that seem an obvious choice to premiere at the fest is director Steve Hoover and producer Danny Yourd’s Crocodile Gennadiy. Following up their Grand Jury Prize winning Blood Brother with incredible turnaround time, our new most anticipated film tracks the delicate operations of Gennadiy Mokhnenko, a Ukrainian activist, orphanage manager and savior of countless children whose addict parents favor injected cold medicine and alcohol over them. Part heartwrenching domestic drama, part sleuth thriller, the film looks to use the Ukrainian uprising as a backdrop to highlight its protagonist...

They often get quite a bit less attention than their fictional brethren, and it doesn’t help that many films fly under the radar while development and filming is underway. To chart this course with a little more precision, I’m launching Ioncinema.com’s latest feature, What’s Up Doc?, our monthly Top 50 Most Anticipated films, a sort of hitlist and/or snapshot of the most alluring, the most promising documentary film projects from the established documentarian guard, the new crop of future voices or the fiction filmmakers who on occasion dip their toes in the form. Curated by me, Jordan M. Smith, you’ll find docu items that are in their beginning stages to being moments away from their film festival berth. Like any such list, we can expect film items to fluctuate in ranking, with the cut-off being publicly items — such recent examples include Laura Poitras’s white hot Edward Snowden project,...

The zombie apocalypse hasn't even hit yet, and already beople are trying to appease their zombie overlords. David Charles, a 21-year-old Dairy Queen employee in Indiana, was arrested for stealing brains and other human tissue, and selling them on eBay.
Apparently Charles stole around 60 human brains from the Indiana Medical History Museum. The brains were all from the latter part of the 19th century, removed during autopsies of mental patients. What baffles me even more is the fact that he then put the brains for sale on eBay. I can get banned for listing an item in the wrong category, but this guy can sell human tissue? It illegal to buy and sell human remains in this country; I'm not sure how eBay let it get so far.
The buyer who purchased the brain was the person who alerted police.
I'm not really sure what Charles was hoping to accomplish.

In an interesting twist of career-shattering irony, the Las Vegas district attorney who prosecuted both Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars on separate drug charges has been booked on some cocaine charges of his own.
David Charles Schubert, 47, was arrested on Saturday (Mar. 19) and charged with possession of cocaine, which is a felony in the state of Nevada.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Schubert, a member of the federal drug task force, was arrested after allegedly buying crack cocaine from a street dealer. Unfortunately for him, a nearby police officer took notice of the transaction. They later found cocaine, a handgun and large amount of ammunition in Schubert's car.
The alleged drug dealer is not in custody, but claims that the prosecutor has purchased $40 worth of crack cocaine from him two or three times a week for the past six or seven months.
"It's disheartening to know the individual who...

The last year has been a wild ride for Hawaiian musician Bruno Mars (nee Peter Gene Hernandez). The newly minted pop singer has ascended to the heights of fame, penned the hook for Cee-Lo's smash hit "F**k You," picked up seven Grammy nominations and one win, netted triple-platinum sales, and was arrested in Vegas for cocaine possession.
"I'm not gonna preach that I'm a role model," he told GQ in his defense. "I'm a fucking musician! But I've learned people are watching, so don't do nothing stupid." Luckily for Mars, the prosecutor who charged him has a secret of his own, and now everybody "nose" it. Clark County Deputy District Attorney David Charles Schubert was arrested on Saturday for possession of...Cocaine. Apparently the irony was inescapable.

It turns out the Sin City prosecutor who handled Paris Hilton's and Bruno Mars' respective coke arrests last year has a little problem himself. Clark County Deputy District Attorney David Charles Schubert was busted Saturday on possession of—wait for it—cocaine. What happens in Vegas is hypocrisy, apparently. Per the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the 47-year-old prosecutor was stopped in his car Saturday by a police officer around 4:51 p.m. after the patrolman suspected Schubert was involved in a drug transaction with a street dealer. Schubert was immediately booked into jail on felony possession, according to jail records, and is now suspended pending an investigation, but is...
